new to hockey and scared to ask what the great 8124 omegaverse chirp of 2015 is
omggg this is deepcut lore(not really since it ws two years ago but it really only get discussed in rpf spaces) BUT BASICALLY! im guessing a relative of one of the boston bears showed them decided it was a good idea to show them hockey rpf because one time in 2015 after the bears had won the match 81 proceeded to yell that hes "the alpha of the rink", points to a very confused and dejected after losing 24 and says "they think you are a simple omega!"then promptly skates off like nothing happened. this never gets addressed or brought up again but this went viral on tumblr and was a topic of conversation for months…
obviously i do not condone sharing or shoving of rpf into the faces of the real people in question but it was still really amusing to see. also i dont even think 81 knew what the terms meant at the time xD

Hey guys! A bit of a more formal and bittersweet post but in exactly 24 hours I will be deleting this blog and my sideblog (@lucarozanov). I realise that this is sudden but I think its time to retire my rpf days and hopefully move onto bigger and greater things. I still love Ilya, 8124 and most importantly hockey but life has granted me opportunities that are more important than a tumblr blog.
I really cherish the memories and friends I've made through my Ilya posting, my artworks and 8124. Thank you all.
Feel free to save any fanart of mine for archive purposes.

Luca Haas likes to think that he settled pretty well into the dynamic of the Ottawa Centaurs. He isn't a rookie anymore but hes still being babied by the older members. The only change is that he finds that he doesn't mind it as much anymore. Obviously he still flushes at any compliment that comes his way, its in his nature, but he doesn't try to deny them or seem humble anymore. He accepts the compliment with pride.
He even thinks hes over the better part of his crush on Ilya Rozanov.
And look, Luca is very respectful of Ilya and Shane's relationship. In fact, he even drew a portrait of them and Anya as a wedding gift! He is a supportive friend and teammate who used to have an extremely bad crush on his captain and tries not to make obvious to said captain or his husband. Who happens to be Luca's alternate captain and the best player in the entire league. So yeah, Luca's life is going pretty good.
Except for one glaring problem. He has a secret.
Luca knew that he wanted to be on the ice forever since he was four. He knew he wanted to play hockey professionally when he was seven and poured hours into learning every single he could about the sport. Then at nine years old, he sees Ilya Rozanov fly across the ice.
It's pretty easy to figure out the timeline from there. He was enamoured with Ilya Rozanov and spent hours watching highlight reels, compilations and games to understand how Ilya played. He made hockey look like fun.
Luca loved hockey and didn't think he could live without but he'd be a liar if he said there weren't days where the sport wasn't be fun anymore. As a clutch, he fell back on drawing. He doesn't think he's particularly good but it relaxes him and soothes his brain in ways hockey can't.
When somebody asks him about when he started art, he says that its something thats always been with him. Like hockey. However, he knows that he truly started getting into it when he was fifteen.
Fifteen year old Luca Haas was painfully average. He was hockey smart and artistic but he always felt way too normal for someone wanting to make it to professional hockey. And he didn't mind that. In fact, it was a tactical disguise for what he got up to when he was sure nobody was looking.
He was short on money and needed quick cash that he didn't want to ask his parents for. So when he comes across an online forum of someone asking if somebody was willing to draw art of Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander together for a hefty price, who was Luca to refuse? It doesn't matter that the request entailed the two rivals holding onto eachother in a soft embrace.
Totally normal rival stuff. And Luca got hooked before he even knew what was happening. He still drew stuff for extra cash, but he also just drew them for fun. He posted them online and that was that for an entire four years of his life.
And then, he got drafted and realised he had to take this secret with him to the grave. Especially with Ilya Rozanov, and later on Shane Hollander, on his team.

If you told Luca Haas that living his teenage years out on a blog centered around hockey players being gay would come and eventually bite him on his profesional hockey playing ass later down in his career, he would've just accepted his fate.
That doesn't make the consequences any less scary however.
He finds himself pacing in front of Harris' office, unsure on whether he should knock or if this is even the appropriate place to go. Maybe he should talk to Coach? Or Ilya and Shane? No, definitely not Ilya and Shane. He'd rather die.
Before he can run off, he hears the door click open and sees Harris and Troy walk out, obviously surprised to see Luca look so panicked.
"I fucked up," Luca says dumbly. He feels like he's back in the body of his 20 year old fresh-faced rookie self as he watches the faces of the two older men soften with worry. "Not anything awful. It's just really stupid and I don't know what to do."
Harris was the first one to speak, wrapping his arm around Luca and rubbing his shoulder, intending to soothe his nerves. "Hey, hey. Whatever you did we can fix, right Troy?"
"Uh, yep."
"Let's go into the office," Harris pushes Luca into the room and settles him onto a couch, Troy following in after and sitting himself on a nearby chair. Harris moves his hand to stay firm on Luca's back and in a calm voice asks, "So what did you do?"
In a mumbled voice, "I used to have an old tumblr blog where I posted fanart of Ilya. With Shane."
Harris blinks a few times, and then looks back at Troy who shares a similar confused reaction. "Repeat that?"
"When I was younger," Luca suddenly feels the room get very hot, "I used to make fanart of um, Ilya and Shane, and post it onto… Um, online."
Harris really does not want to make the situation more humiliating for Luca but it's difficult not to let out a small laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
"I don't see whats wrong with that," Troy says, "We like when you draw us. Especially Ilya."
Luca looks up at Troy like hes about to burst into tears before looking back down, completely and utterly dejected.
"…Or not."
Harris clears his throat, patting Luca on the back. Partly because he's proud of the guy for admitting something so personal and partly because he's honestly impressed Luca has managed to keep this secret for so long. "There's nothing wrong with that Luca," Harris smiles. "We all have our vices."
"Normally kids watch highlight reels of their favourites," Luca scoffs but it doesn't hold any real malice. "I did that and then drew my favourites making out right after."
"Holy shit," Troy gasps like the puzzle pieces finally fell into place. "That's actually kind of cool."

"Well," Harris starts. "I'm glad you're being honest about this Luca. What made you want to tell us, or well, me?"

Harris just nods, understanding. They sit in silence for awhile, unsure of where to go from there, until Harris speaks up again. "Fans can't make the connection for certain based off just that information. Just be careful! It'll all be fine."
