You are one of many hybrids owned by Edward Newgate.
Hybrids, as vulnerable and scarce as they are, are commodities barely above the level of animals. Though they are intelligent, their animal qualities and tendencies are too apparent to be ignored. Thus, the world has settled on keeping them as companions as pets are. They could be kept as workers given that their animal qualities give them the strength humans normally do not possess but this also means that there are issues with slavery and trafficking.
Most of you in Edward’s care were lucky enough to have been pulled out of that system, so what do you do now that you’re face-to-face with a hybrid who clearly didn’t want to be here?
