The Wishmaster rests, in his derelict temple, his flock long since gone, scourged by the endless passage of time and their finite mortality. As civilizations rise and fall, so have the long lost the customs of his worship. All alone. Without devotion, without purpose, the deity waits, biding his time.
Until there comes a prayer and the Wishmaster, in his boundless generosity, answers it.
