Work Text:
Luis isn’t sure how he ended up here.
He was supposed to be dead, his corpse left to slowly rot away in the dark mines of Valdelobos.
But somehow, by the grace of a god he no longer believed in, he was still alive. Granted, a big scar in his back with mobility problems for the rest of his life, but alive.
And right now, he was below the gorgeous prince who saved him.
Luis had been staying with Leon for the time being, as he had no where else to stay in a country he knew little about with a considerable federal warrant on his head for his involvement with both Umbrella and Los Iluminados. Leon was adamant about Luis not serving time and how he “would fix everything,” no matter how many times Luis tried to get the man to change his mind.
Living with him wasn’t so bad. Luis almost felt like a housewife - making sure Leon had actually eaten at least two decent meals each day and keeping the apartment tidy to keep himself busy since working wasn’t an option as of now.
Tonight Leon had the evening free for once in his life, and Luis immediately decided to celebrate with a movie night and drinks.
You see, Luis had a plan. He knows that he and Leon have been skirting around each other for the longest time. As soon as Luis had laid eyes on Leon, he was a goner. It took Leon a little longer to feel the same (at least, Luis hoped), but he saw the too-long glances and subtle gestures to get just a little closer to the Spaniard. Luis was ninety eight percent sure Leon felt the same.
So instead of confronting Leon about it and spilling his heart out like any normal person would, Luis set them up. Have a movie night, get a little drunk, confess his feelings, and hopefully end up in Leon’s bed by the end of the night. If not, he can play it off as having too much to drink the next day and pretending it never happened. Simple as that.
Except that Leon really did want him.
And came off as much more sincere than what Luis was expecting.
And now Luis was panicking because it had been ages since he’s had sex.
It had been going fine so far. A little caught off guard by Leon’s drunken, softer edges, but otherwise fine. Luis discovered he was a good kisser.
He was fine when Leon herded him to his bed and laid him down.
He was fine when Leon fumbled with his dress shirt, because of course Luis had to have the most impractical fashion sense.
He was not fine, however, when Leon’s hand came into contact with his skin.
Luis instinctively flinched away and Leon froze, immediately worried he did something wrong or somehow hurt the other man.
“You okay?” Leon asked, his voice low with a soft rasp to it. Luis nodded, forcefully swallowing down the piling nerves in the pit of his stomach.
“Sí, of course, my apologies.” He flashed Leon a hopefully convincing grin. “Keep going. Please.”
Leon gave him an unsure look, but gave in, ducking down to kiss Luis again.
Luis tired to distract himself with kissing Leon back, but he couldn’t help but feel the tingling feeling that Leon had unknowingly left behind. It’s not that Luis was afraid of sex. He wasn’t. He’s had sex before. It’s just… been awhile since the last time. And it wasn’t with someone he was stupidly head over heels for.
Leon kissed his way down Luis’ face and to his neck, trying to find what makes the scientist tick. His large, calloused hands settle carefully on Luis’ thin waist. He really needed to eat more.
It went like that for awhile, and Luis was enjoying it again. If he wasn’t, then it really felt like it was.
Without much of a second thought, probably distracted by Luis’.. very vocal encouragement, Leon reached down to unbuckle the man’s belt.
And that’s when it all shattered.
Luis’ hand flew downward to harshly grab Leon’s wrist and pull his hand away, much to both of their surprise.
Luis stares, his eyes wide.
“Uh,”
He lets go of Leon’s wrist and pulls his hand back, his movements stiff.
“I, ah, didn’t mean to do that.”
Leon just watches from above, worried, unsure of what to do.
“W-we can keep going-“
“No, we won’t.” Leon’s voice is firm, and for once it scares Luis.
“Why not?”
“Luis, you just pulled my hand away when I tried to touch you.” The agent pulls back, carefully sitting on his heels and holding out a hand. “We’re not going to do anything tonight. Not when you’re like this.”
Luis falters, his nervous smile collapsing into a frown. It’s one of those frowns where you’re trying not to burst into tears and your throat burns from holding it back.
Leon notices this and gets off his companion to lay next to him instead, his elbow propped up underneath him. He watches Luis carefully, trying to come up with something to say. He wasn’t exactly good with his words when it comes to this stuff.
“… do you think you can tell me what happened?”
Luis blinks, glancing over at Leon before looking away.
“It’s… it has been a few years since the last time anyone’s touched me like this. Without malice.” He steals another look at Leon. “I’m sure it is the same for you.”
It’s quiet for a moment before Luis sits up fully, running his hands down his face. “Lo siento, Leon, this is stupid.”
“It’s not stupid,” The latter said quickly. “I understand, Luis. You said it yourself.”
Luis takes a shuddering breath but doesn’t say anything else. The air feels tense. Not uncomfortable, but not exactly pleasant either.
There’s a few more beats of silence before Leon speaks up. “You can spend the night in here, if you want. I… wouldn’t be against it.”
Luis looked up, thinking, before nodding. “Gracias, Leon. I’d.. appreciate it.”
Leon nodded. “I’ll go get cleaned up a bit, then we’ll sleep.” He patted Luis’ hand in the comforting manner before sitting up and getting out of bed to brush his teeth.
Luis sat in the bed for a moment longer before getting up to get ready for bed himself. The intrusion of voices were already seeping into his mind of what happened tonight. He should’ve known something stupid like this was going to happen. Nothing could ever go right for him, he always has to fuck it up-
He comes back into the bedroom to find Leon already under the blankets. Luis gets under them as well, his back facing Leon.
It’s quiet for awhile before Leon speaks up.
“Is it okay if I hold you?”
After thinking for a moment Luis nods and quickly adds, “Um, yeah.”
Luis hears the sheets rustle as Leon moves closer to him. He carefully hooks his arm around Luis’ waist and pulls the man close to his chest. Almost immediately Luis relaxes.
“Leon?”
“Hm?”
Luis takes a breath. “I’m.. sorry for setting us up. It was wrong of me.”
“Don’t worry, it’s not a big deal. Not the worst thing that’s happened to me.”
Luis let out a short hum of concern.
The pair fell into a comfortable silence again. Luis could feel himself getting more and more tired as the minutes ticked by. He rolled over and threw an arm over Leon’s side and tangled their legs together, wanting to get as close as possible to him. Luis could feel Leon’s smile, and he began to gently trace his back, sending shivers down his spine.
“You really aren’t mad at me?” Luis mumbles. It was getting hard to keep his eyes open.
Leon shakes his head. “Not for something like that.” He pauses. “Can I kiss you?”
Luis can’t help but smile at that. “You don’t have to ask me for a kiss, Sancho.”
“I just wanted to make sure it was okay.” The agent murmurs. He presses a tender kiss to Luis’ forehead. “Now go to sleep, we can talk more in the morning.”
Luis gives a light-hearted huff. “So strict.”
A half-hearted laugh rumbles in Leon’s throat that makes Luis feel giddy inside.
As Luis drifts off to sleep, he thinks-
He thinks this won’t be so bad after all.
