Summary
There’s an OC who ended up in the twenty third century because of *handwaves* reasons, and wound up running into the Enterprise (on their second five year mission). Now some of the Enterprise crew have accidentally traveled back in time once again, and are trying (again) to get back to the 23rd century.
(Just to clarify, they’re not quite close enough to OC’s original time zone for her to be able to jump back into her old life, besides which, there’s rules about time travelers who’ve learned too much about future technology. Sad as it is for her, she’ll be going back along with them, and she knows it.)
In the meantime, they have acquired a car. That’s where this scene picks up.
