Chapter Text
Ding! Ding!
Ughhh... not now.
DING!
Gods... if its that damned boy again i swear I'm giving him a piece of my mind-
DING! DING!
"UGH! coming!" Citlali groans, tugging the soft quilted sheets off and wrapping them around herself as she stumbles through the dark room towards the door, kicking the cans in her way. She shoves the door open, rearing her head and squinting in the bright mid-day light.
"Ororon! how many DAMN times do i have to tell you to..." She trails off, looking up at the nervous grin plastered on Lumine's face.
"Lali! long time no see-" The blonde laughs, cut off by a sharp tug of her scarf, lips pressing against the soft surface of the Citlali's own. Her eyes widen momentarily, before laughing into the harsh kiss, meeting hers back. A calloused hand glides up to the shaman's cheek, thumb caressing the gentle skin before they pull away. Citlali's stormy eyes meet hers; and archons, she could swear she saw a bolt of lightning strike her through them.
"Where have you been?!? no notice- you couldn't find the time to send a letter but could travel all the way back to Natlan?!!" She shouts angrily, huffing with each breath.
Lumine raised her hands in mock surrender, grinning down at the woman. "Sorry! sorry- a lot's been going on in Nod-Krai, its been hard to keep up. We've just landed at a break point for the mission, so i wanted to come visit! I got you some snacks-"
The basket of food in Lumine's hand gets quickly snatched up, the shorter woman rummaging through the packaging to inspect the contents. "A break point?" She asks, eyes still scanning the basket's goods.
"yeah- things are somewhat more peaceful now. We all needed a bit of a break. I'll tell you all about it tonight- the past few weeks have been a headache."
Citlali snorts at that, setting the basket on the stairs as she looks back up at Lumine. "You can say that again. These kids have been driving me up the wall- I'd rather turn myself into an Iktomisaurus and dive into the Great Volcano of Tollan than deal with another of Ororons requests."
Lumine giggles, raising a fist to her mouth. "I can tell. What was it you said to me when you opened the door?"
Citlali flushes, looking away indignantly. "How was i supposed to know it was you at the door!?"
"Might need to make a secret code then~" Lumine chuckles, eyeing down Citlali's disheveled appearance. "I don't want to have to share this view with others."
Before Citlali's face can turn any shade redder, Lumine adjusts the blanket wrapped around her, fixing the fallen fabric to cover her cleavage again and running the hand up to her chin. Citlali's head turns up delicately in the blonde's grasp, swimming in the soft embers of her eyes before a chaste kiss is planted once again on her lips. She falls into it, tentatively wrapping her arms up around the travelers neck. Her pouted lips part softly, breathing the woman's taste in and again dipping into the warm sensation of her lips. She can feel the corners of her lovers lips curl softly under her breath; light and airy as the wine that stained her tongue. Her strong shoulders under her fingertips, firm and secure as the stones she crossed, touch electrifying as the storms she bared. Slowly, the two's lips parted from each other, mingled breath still lingering in the hot day's air.
"Don't be so lewd..." Citlali grumbled, closing her eyes once more and burying her face into Lumine's chest.
Lumine snickered and beamed down at her, face soft as it had always been with her- delicate without infantilizing. Lumine's gaze shifted upwards, looking beyond the woman in her hands and into the darkened room.
"So... am i allowed in now?"
The shorter's eyes snapped open, shoving herself away from Lumine and clearing her throat in embarrassment. "Gods- yes..."
-
Lumine bounded gleefully into the house, eyes wandering across the soft cushions and blankets strewn across every surface and the beverage cans that littered the floor. Clothing messily thrown across the chair and tables- bookshelves meticulously organized to protect her precious literature. The blonde popped herself down on one of the many cushy chairs, holding a pillow up to her chest.
"I forgot how cozy it was in here~." She sighed softly, breathing in the scent of the pillow.
Citlali kicked a few cans out of her walkway, shoving them off back into the kitchen for later disposal. "If you told me you were coming I could've cleaned..."
"I know."
"And I would've been able to get dressed..." She grumbles.
"Yeah."
Citlali huffs, clumsily making her way over to the stash of cushions Lumine had tucked herself into. Falling into the soft embrace of her lover's arms, she tucks herself into her chest, looking up at the woman languidly. Lumine squeezes her slightly tighter, nuzzling the lavender hair in front of her and sighing. The soft lashes obscuring the view of the nightly depths flicker softly under Lumine's gaze, studying her features like the romance books she threw herself into. Lumine set a soft kiss upon the woman's eyebrow, humming as she leaned into her.
"Anything you want to talk about?" She raised softly.
"Mmhm... Mavuika keeps driving her bike around here the second the sun comes up... she roped Xilonen into changing the engine out- way louder than the last..." Citlali drones on, relaying the events of the weeks in Lumine's absence; Ororon, Ifa, Mualani and Kinich's sickly romantic escapades; as she referred to them.
"So you don't like all that romantic stuff? Noted." Lumine chuckles to herself, watching the shifting look of offense on Citlali's face.
"Not when it's those damn kids- you know what i mean!" She retorts, reeling herself back.
Lumines laughs continue, simmering down into soft giggles as she pulls Citlali closer, kissing her face softly. The prideful part of Citlali wishes to push her away, hide her face and push her point. The quieter part of her though; the part reserved for alone time under her covers, reading literature of the Yae publishing house, late night drinking sessions at the bar and that which she had long thought left her with her first love- wished to kiss back. It's not typical that she listens to it.
Citlali huffs, shirfting and pushing up against Lumine's body, turning her face in her palms and bringing her in for a decided kiss. Soft thighs find themselves hoisted over the girl's skirts, blanket pooling down off her shoulders and around her hips. Lithe arms snake around Lumine's neck and finding purchase in the short hair at the base of her neck, craning up to press soft lips against each other. Parting her mouth, Citlali traces her tongue along the seam of Lumine's lips, glancing through her lashes into those amber depths, warm as the leaves of harra fruit. Her eyes close once again, tongue delving into the soft depths of the girl's mouth, tongue sliding against hers, drowning as the deep waters. The languid kiss drones on, until the need for air surfaces once again and parts the two. Citlali and Lumine's breath mingles heavy between them, dancing between their lips like the smoke blanketing Tecoloapan Bay.
Lumine's eyes glint for a lingering moment, a small smile dawning her lips. "'Dont be so lewd'~ Lali."
Citlali's face flushes furiously, snapping out of her dopey state. "I-I wasn't!-"
Lumine's laughter resurfaces once again, giggling as she pulls the shorter further into her lap. Citlali huffs, pouting and crossing her arms as she turns her head. "I'll show you lewd..." She mutters under her breath.
...
"huh?-" Lumine barely lets out, before Citlali's lips descend upon her once again.
