Work Text:
Meg laid in her bed, mind straying far away, her thoughts flooding her with so many words.
“He doesn't want you”
“Your nothing to him, he just takes pity”
“He just sees you as an annoying nuisance, not a sister.”
“You. are. Nothing to him.”
It has been two weeks since she's seen pollo, and she was worried now, meg would always get mail or some type of contact if it's been this long since they've seen each other.
And It was that last two sentences that broke her, she was able to keep a stoic face for the most part, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, but now the dam had broken, causing her to be wrecked with sobs. She clasped her hand over her mouth to stop the noise from leaving her.
She froze as a knock on her door sound hit her ears, she took deep breath, calming herself down as fast as she could, holding back the tears she put a facade up, she racked the door open, coming face to face with a Lester papadopoulos.
Meg grabbed his ear dragging him to her bed “where have you been?! It's been two weeks man” meg ran her hand through her hair as she let go. Apollo flopped down on the bed, a small smile gracing his features.
“Aaaw you do care about me~”
"Of course I care about you, you dummy”
Apollo chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Sorry meg, got caught up with some business and my father, you know how it is.” Apollo waved his hands around. “Yeah yeah, but normally you're able to send me something that shows you're still alive.”
She crossed her arms, raising her eyebrow in question. “Ah- well…sorry Hermes was overly busy, more than usual and I didn't want to be a bother to anyone.” Meg frowned, usually he would never pass up the opportunity to yap on and on to others.
“What's going on les….?” Meg moved, sitting next to her brother Apollo relaxing a hand onto his shoulder, she felt him tense, the corner of her mouth down turned even more. “It's nothing meg, I promise, just family drama and everything, nothing new!”
“Want to try again? Without lying you're the god of truth, you make a face every time you lie, pretty funny actually." Meg smirked remembering the times she caught him lying from his face changing. Apollo sighed out his nose, his features going down, his shoulders sagged, his face looking older than what he normally had on.
“Just…father has been more-...ruthless I guess. Any wrong move ends with me being struck by the master's bolt.” he curled on himself burying his face between his knees. “Oh pollo…” Meg watched as Apollo's shoulders started to shake sobs slowly making it through his mouth, he tried to drown them down by holding a hand over them.
Meg wrapped her arms around her brother reassuring him “it's okay, let it out, he cant get you here. I promise.” the dam broke, Apollo was a crying mess within minutes. Meg held him close, rubbing her hand up and down her back. What felt like hours but was really thirty minutes, Apollo had calmed down to small hiccups, his breath soon after evening out.
Meg smiled a small sad smile, as she looked at apollos form in her hands, she noticed the bandages and lightning burns, rage passed through her eyes, but it was gone in a flash, stuffed away to the back of her mind for the time being, cause right now she had to take care of her brother.
Five hours later jo walked in seeing the two holding each other as they slept. She grabbed a blanket from the end of the bed and draped it on them, turning the lights off as she turned around and shut the door.
