Chapter Text
The first thing I saw was white.
White walls, white floor, no windows, grey plastic chairs, a locked office door.
Perplexed and shocked, I stood up from the squirmy plastic chair and looked down at myself.
Black straight leg jeans, a white shirt tucked into the jeans, patent black leather shoes.
I sat down again, stared into the void and looked around once more.
In my confused state I didn’t notice it, but there was something I missed while observing the room.
Two men, dressed exactly like me, both blonde, blue eyes, sitting next to me in the endless row of chairs, staring into the white nothingness before our eyes.
The only difference between them may be their haircut and the fact that one of them was way more pale in every aspect than the other.
The pale one had normal medium long hair with let-down bangs, while the one with color in the face had very long shiny blonde hair, but because of his side braids, his Elf ears couldn’t be hidden.
I stared for a moment, and unfortunately, got caught by one of them.
So the pale one spoke to me, with a grin on his lips: „Oi, has the princess finally woken up from her endless sleep? Or do you need someone to kiss you awake? Hey Twinky, say something to our third party over here.“
The Elf looked away, with an indifferent expression .
„No thanks, I am pretty sure I will not need a.. „kiss“. Not now and neither in the future. Uhm, was I really asleep?“, I replied with a little stutter.
„Well, you sat there with your eyes closed, head tilted to the side. I can only suppose you were sleeping. Or in Koma? I don’t know, but no matter what we did, you didn’t wake up. Am I right?,“ he turned his head to the side, looking at the Elf who just rolled his eyes.
Surprisingly, the sentence ‚no matter what we did‘ sounded intimidating when it came from him, and I am saying this as a person who had become many threats in his life.
„May I ask for your name, sir?,“ the Elf said.
„Loki Laufeyson. But please call me Loki. How about you?“
„Legolas Greenleaf.“
„Ah,“ I said, trying not to look at the rude prick next to Legolas. But seeing him grinning mischievously, i know which question he will ask all too well.
„Won‘t you ask for my name,Blackie?“ he said with an arrogant voice, but I felt like I heard a sad undertone. Although that might just have been my imagination.
Not only that I was a little bit disrespected by his way of speaking, the nicknames, for example „Princess“ make him sound even more ruthless.
„Oh, pardon me. What is your name?,“ I asked pretending to smile.
„Aww, Loki~ You don‘t need to put on this fake smile. After all, we want you to be yourself—„
„Your name, please,“ I said with a cold look on my face.
He dropped his devilish smile and chuckled.
„Yevgeny Vissarionovich Bogdanov. But you’re allowed to call me Zhenya,“ his evil smile appeared again.
„Thanks, Zhenya,“ I smiled back.
He nodded.
'What interesting comrades I have here' I thought to myself.
„So, to break the ice, let me ask another question“, Zhenya said with a sigh at the end of the sentence,“so tell me, how old are these kind gentlemen in here?“
„I am currently 3021 years old“, Legolas replied.
By hearing Legolas answer Zhenya turned even paler than he was before, and just made an „Aha. Hmmm“ with a rather shocked expression on his face.
„Oh, actually I didn’t expect you to be much older than me, I just turned 1058.“
„My, I must say you’re a lot younger than me, you are just in your prime time“, Legolas said with a faint smile.
Again, Zhenya‘s reply was just an „Oh, indeed“.
To drag him out of his daze, I asked: „Of course I’m not forgetting you again, Zhenya~
So, how old are you? You do look a little younger than me and Legolas, so I would say around 1020?“, I put on a grin while looking him in the eyes. This time, it wasn’t fake.
„…“, silence filled the room, „I am 26 years old…“
„Oh…“, whispered Legolas.
Again, I smiled wholeheartedly.
„God, you’re a baby~ Or are you human by any chance?“, I asked in a teasing manner.
I must say, it is pretty fun to tease him. Actually, at first glance I expected him to be at least a half god, but as soon as he opened his mouth, it was pretty clear that he was human.
Though humans aren’t the smartest creatures in this world, I must say he is pretty sharp.
„Well, what else could I be? Oh right, Twinky is a fairy, right? Don’t tell me you are an unicorn~“
„…I certainly aren’t an unicorn, but a half-god. You must’ve heard of me before, right?
Loki Laufeyson, the trickster god? Hm? Does there ring a bell?“, I said, eager to her his answer, but the only thing I got was shrug with a bored expression,
„Sorry, I’m not that interested in Greek mythology“, he answered in a laid back tone.
My smile immediately dropped and I could see him holding back his laughter.
'Whatever' I thought and turned my head to the side 'Why do I care about some lousy humans opinion'.
For a moment there was complete silence. Even nothingness was louder.
Until…
„…it’s called Elf“, Legolas mumbled.
„What did you say?“
„Come again?“
„…I am an elf, not a fairy“, Legolas repeated pouting.
„Ah right, fairies are way smaller. But you guys also have wings, yeah?“, Zhenya asked like a little school girl who just found out the difference between Well, 26 years old, how much life experience could you possibly have?
„I know your cognitive abilities are not really in their best shape, but I suppose your eyes are still functioning, at least from the looks of it. So tell me, do you see any wings on my back?“, Legolas said in a chilly tone.
Zhenya flinched. I did, too. Even if I knew this threat wasn’t addressed to me .
Then, laughter.
Loud and steady laughter coming from Zhenya: „ My, my… aren’t you a funny one. Please excuse me, I must have underestimated you~“
I stared at him with wide eyes, so did Legolas.
„But no reason to get all angry over that, it’s was just a question,“ Zhenya explained, „ but if your don’t have wings.. I think fairies are cooler than elves.“
„…No they aren’t.“
„They are.“
Legolas and Zhenya continued their little “conversation“.
„No, they are like tiny insects.“
„And you guys are like humans with pointy ears. AND without wings.“
„At least we—“
„Oh uh, Hello there“, the long locked office door opened, and a mainstream looking office worker stood behind it, „ LZL-6812 members, please come in and follow me.“
