Chapter Text
“We did it, Joe…” Donald Trump massaged the shoulders of his enemy turned lover, Joseph Biden. The two stood outside, staring at the majesty of the White House as the fresh breeze of spring dropped cherry petals on their heads. Joe nuzzled his head into Trump’s warm chest and softly kissed his lover’s wrist.
To think that just four years ago, he would’ve torn Trump’s throat out if given the chance. Never in a million years would he have guessed that he’d be sharing a bed with his nemesis, especially one in the most opulent of all American palaces. Well *chuckles* sometimes life just works out that way.
The 2028 elections were close. With the 22nd amendment abolished by Trump late in 2026, it looked to be a tight race between the two heavy weights of Trump and Obama. However, when Obama gave his surprise announcement of wanting to focus on his baking ambitions instead of politics, and his subsequent dropout in March of the election year, it looked like it would be a Trump victory. But with sleepy Joe waking from his retirement to get back in the race, and the surprise sinking of Florida in the last hours of voting, dropping Trump’s 30 point lead in the electoral college, a tie had to be announced between Biden and Trump. In a shock to the nation, rather than letting the House of Representatives decide a winner, the two announced they’d run the United States of America as co-presidents, each with their own vice president, and soon, Trump stood alongside Biden as tense handshakes were exchanged between the two to the flash of cameras.
As the two sat together on a small bench in the garden, Joe couldn’t help but think back to how it all began.
