Chapter Text
the night was cold, i liked it, i always did.
winter nights in the zones were brutal, but feeling the wind on my skin as my bike tears down the road always makes me feel so alive. some random punk music blared from the radio on my bike, it was so loud it might deafen me, but i didn't care. i was alive, so alive.
but then, i wasn't.
some thing was in the road and, if i ran over it, i would certainly be dead, so i has to swerve, off into the endless sea of dunes in the middle of the night. fuck! i flew down the dunes on my bike, i was usually good at riding, even when i had to swerve, but tonight was different.
i lost grip of my bike and started tumbling down the sand, with my bike just seconds above me, and then, i landed, and it crushed me.
fuck, fuck, fuck! ow, that fucking hurts!
did it break my goddamn leg?
it fucking feels like it. where do i go from here?
i crawled over to the bike, dragging my leg behind me, wincing with every pained movement.
maybe i could radio someone?
not many people will be in range out here in zone 6, but i have to try, i have too. it crackles to life, yes!
"hello? uhm, K-kid of the fab 4 radioing in an SOS, I've had a bad crash in zone 6, broke my leg. i... i don't know where i am. please help"
the static was painful, and i waited, for maybe 5 minutes, maybe an hour.
nothing, i could barely hear dr d's station out here, I'm gonna die out here.
then, an engine roars in the distance, i see it race down the road and cast a giant dust cloud behind it.
a black motorbike stops right near me, still up on the road.
"help! please fucking help me!"
my throat is sore, i dont remember screaming at all, but if i really did break my leg, then i'd guess i did. the figure stands off the bike and takes off his helmet, i don't know if i know him, but he looks like a fellow killjoy. thank the witch.
"hey, Kobra. I've got you"
