I can’t stop this heartbeat

Work Text:

Akito wakes up as usual.

He checks his phone; he's up a few minutes before his alarm, as usual. Toya's hugging him like his life depends on it, as usual whenever they spend the night together.

As usual, Akito has to wrestle out of his grip if he wants to go on his run.

At this point it's a very familiar process. Akito carefully uncovers himself to assess the situation. Then, he begins removing his legs from between Toya's — the extra leverage is useful once he has to free his torso. Slowly, carefully, he moves his right leg away, then starts to shimmy his left one out from beneath Toya's. Toya's breath remains as steady as moments before, which means he's still asleep. Once his legs are free comes the hard part — Toya’s arms are wrapped around him, stupidly strong. None of that strength ever shows anywhere else; it's only when he's hugging Akito like a body pillow, fast asleep.

He pries away a finger. No reaction. Toya's breath is still calm and steady.

He pries away another. Still nothing. Toya hasn't stirred.

He pries away a third. He starts to hope that maybe, he can succeed without waking Toya up, and it's exactly that thought that fucks up his progress, as if the universe needed to prove him wrong.

Toya hums, displeased, and pushes himself onto Akito's chest. His head lands in the crook of Akito's neck, and his lips attach themselves to Akito's skin, pressing lazy kisses everywhere they can reach. Akito can't help the way he melts into the mattress.

This little shit. Did he have a plan ready in case this happened?

“Toya,” He tries, hand coming up to rest in Toya's hair. “I've gotta go. I won't be long.”

Toya's mouth gets more insistent, more desperate; his lips latch on right above his clavicle, sucking a mark into the skin. Akito gasps despite himself; that's not the response he wanted to give. Toya shifts again, dragging his leg over Akito's, pressing him into the mattress with his whole body. He’s back in square one — square zero if he's being realistic about it.

“Toya–” He tries again once Toya pulls away from his neck, but is cut off by Toya's lips on his. He moves languidly, but with intent; Akito responds in kind, keeping Toya close to himself. He's about to pull Toya off to talk to him, but as if sensing his intentions, Toya deepens the kiss. For how groggy and uncoordinated Toya normally is at those hours, he seems to have no problems with shoving his tongue into Akito's mouth. Akito certainly can't talk like this. Curse Toya and how smart he is.

Once they're out of air, Toya pulls away. Akito tries to take this chance and opens his mouth, only for Toya to cover it with his hand. He stares in shock at his partner and his pleading, puppy-like expression. Toya is weaponizing Akito's weaknesses, and he can't even be mad.

“Stay,” Toya only says, then takes off his hand to kiss him again. Akito absentmindedly responds, wondering how to play this to get to go on his run. He feels Toya's hand circle around his wrist, so he pulls away the hand in Toya's hair. That apparently was what Toya wanted, because he shifts his fingers up to twine their hands together. The feeling of Toya's chilly, slender digits sliding up his palm makes a shiver run down his spine. Toya takes his other hand to link their fingers, then uses his position to push Akito's hands into the mattress. Clever bastard. Akito knows he could easily pull away, but he lets himself be pinned down. He has to admit to himself that he lost this battle as soon as Toya's lips landed on the skin of his neck.

Toya pulls away, gasping for breath, eyes sleepy yet intense in the dimly lit room. The artificial light, filtering in from the outside, dyes the usually cool grey into a much warmer shade.

Akito stays silent. At this point, resistance is pointless. Toya, firstly, seems very pleased, and secondly, much more awake than is normal for him at this hour.

Maybe Akito can use this the next time he needs Toya up and functional early. That'd be a good moment for revenge.

For now, though, he's more than happy to respond when Toya leans back in for another kiss. Now that he stopped fighting back, Toya moves slowly, his lips falling back into the familiar, purposeful manner of Toya's usual tempo. Toya normally kisses the exact same way he says Akito's name; particularly deliberate, with careful consideration on how to convey his feelings through the action. Right now, Toya wants him to stay. Akito, ever loyal, can only obey. He may be a BAD DOG, but he can never protest when Toya wants something from him.

Akito turns his head away to gasp for air. Toya's breathing is as frantic as his own, with every rapid exhale tickling his face. Toya pecks his cheek, and Akito takes it as a sign to turn his head back towards his partner.

“If I go back to sleep, are you going to try and get up again?” Toya murmurs, then presses another kiss to the tip of Akito's nose.

Akito takes a second to think. He's not getting up anytime soon anymore, but he doesn't have to tell Toya that.

“Can't promise anythin’. You're gonna hafta kiss me some more to convince me to stay.” He manages to keep a grin off his face, but the way Toya's eyes sparkle tells him he's been found out anyway.

“Is that so?” Toya leans in closer, until there's barely a gap between their lips.

“Mmm. Better hurry, partner.” Akito lifts his hands up, just to prove that he can, then lets them drop back down.

Toya hums, a light and sweet sound, then closes the small gap between them. His lips are even sweeter, moving slowly against his own, stretching out the moment into infinity. Akito lets himself fully relax, as he always does when he and Toya are pressed against each other. Above him, Toya does the same, muscles going loose until theyre both melting into one being. Toya momentarily breaks away, and Akito barely gets a breath in before he's being kissed again, matching Toya's rhythm with ease. He'd love to press Toya closer, but he settles for squeezing Toya's hands instead. In response, Toya smiles into the kiss, a familiar curve against Akito's skin.

Once his lungs start burning, he regrettably pulls away from Toya.

“‘m not goin’ anywhere. Go back to sleep if ya wanna,” He murmurs into Toya's lips, because he does feel a bit bad about waking Toya up so early.

“I want to keep kissing you.” Toya doesn't even hesitate before giving his answer, honest as ever. Akito feels his cheeks turn a furious red.

Toya leans ever so slightly down, connecting their lips once more. Akito can't help but want the morning sun to never come.
