Summary
When the Outbreak hit, Harry Potter was not anywhere he should have been.
Stranded in America, Harry must fight his way to survive and find a cure for the muggle plague that is somehow bringing the dead back to life. But with the power set to go out at the CDC and no cure in sight, Harry turns his focus to finding survivors and protecting those he can until Hermione and Dr. Jenner can find a way to end this thing. He runs into a group of survivors stranded on a roof in Atlanta and from there everything slowly starts to change.
What is one lone wizard supposed to do when surrounded by strangers at the end of the world? Will Harry be able to save these people and get back home to those he calls family? And Why is it that the longer he stays with these American Muggles the more a part of him want's to stay?

“General Harry Potter, Head of the Department of Law Enforcement and former Chief of the British Special Forces Counterterrorism Unit.” Harry replied, remembering at the last moment to remove ‘Magical’ from his job titles.All seven of them blinked at him in astonishment. It was clear none of them knew what the heck to make of him. The man with the rifle had straitened however, automatically falling into military parade rest. That certainly made Harry perk up. Harry might not be the best at dealing with strangers (especially Americans) but at least if the guy was military he should hopefully follow Harry’s lead. It made a certain amount of sense as well. The man was too good a shot to be a regular civilian.

Harry might be a Gryffindor, but at 30 years old he’d learnt his lesson about going in half cocked and done it the hard way. He was going to get these people out of here. Safely.

She seemed to do that a lot around the Sergeant Major, and Harry couldn’t blame her. He honestly wanted to fire back himself, but he had priorities here. If he could successfully get through a charity gala without hexing Draco at his most obnoxious, then he could successfully ignore Dixon while actively in danger. Andrea antagonising him and responding to his taunts really wasn’t helpful right now. She was just playing into his constant need for attention.“They can really tell us by smell?” redirected Officer Friendly, sounding unsettled.
“Yeah. Can’t you?” asked Jacqui, the lady who used to work in city zoning.
“They smell dead and we don’t. It’s pretty distinct.” explained Andrea with a shrug.
“We’re getting off-topic.” Harry interrupted, trying to cut the chatter.
As fascinating as that bit of information was, it wasn’t exactly relevant right now. There wasn’t exactly much they could do to hide their scent - though Harry was sure Hermione probably knew a spell for that. He didn’t though so it was a moot point. Strange the officer hadn’t figured this all out yet. Harry had guessed based on how rough he was looking that he’d been holed up somewhere on his own. Harry had only been venturing out from the CDC for a few weeks, he’d have thought someone who’d been outside since the start would know how to avoid the dead better than him.
“A distraction. Sergeant Major, how many bullets do you still have for your rifle? You think you could hit a car or something down the other end of the street? Make some noise?” Harry asked, getting everyone else back on track.
The surly military man shot Harry a look of mixed annoyance and consideration. The guy clearly had a problem with authority and didn’t like being told what to do. Harry could tell he was begrudgingly impressed with the idea though, and the speed at which Harry had come up with a viable plan.

Oh My Lord! You’re the Harry Potter!” she exclaimed, staring at him with eyes half bugging out of her head.“There it is.” mumbled Harry under his breath.

No matter how much he’d always wanted to be ‘Just Harry’ even scraping the surface of his identity left most regular people reeling. Hell, Harry himself would be doubtful to believe half the things about himself if he hadn’t bloody lived them. -
