How did I end up here?
No. That's not the right question. Keito knew exactly how he ended up here, in Natsuki's apartment, sitting on the floor across from said man, watching the empty beer cans pile up. "Can't you write any faster? You were supposed to have this song finished a week ago." He scoffed, feeling the irritation spread across his face.
"Yea, yea, I'm going... stop scowling will you? You're gonna get wrinkles and then no one's going to want to oshi you." Natsuki's gruff deep voice filled the empty room, drastically different from the forced cuteness of his stage persona. Keito immediately softened his face at the blonde's comment, the thought of no fans manifesting itself in his mind as money flying away. "This is such a damn pain, why can't we just hire a professional songwriter already?"
"For the last time. No. That would cost money, making you do it is free," Keito deadpanned, his exasperation reaching its limit, "and as much as I hate to admit it, you're obviously at good at it, considering the fans obsess over every new song." Natsuki stared back defiantly, not breaking eye contact as he cracked open a new can. "Ask one more time and it's coming out of your paycheck."
"Fine. You're such a frugal prick. Can you at least go and get me a pack of cigs? I'm out."
"No. Get back to work."
"I'll pay you back."
"When was the last time you've ever paid me back? Do you even know how much you owe me? The large deficit at which you're working at?" Keito's eyebrows furrowed again as his fingers pinched the bridge of his nose. I don't know how much longer I can put up with this. I need to find a new job... but what other job pays as much as being a stupid idol... goddamn it. "Why is it my job to keep you on track anyways? I should just leave you out to dry-"
"Hah," Natsuki's short laugh cutting Keito's tangent off, "And lose your dear song writer? Yea, sure. If anything, I should be the one complaining."
"You are the one complaining!" God Keito could Kill This Guy. His laziness was astounding.
"Not as much as you obviously! God, quiet down will you? My head hurts." Natsuki cringed at the sounds of their shouting. Impulsively, he reached out to take a sip of his open beer can, acutely aware of how Keito's eyes followed the bobbing of his throat as he swallowed. "All you do is talk and talk and talk and talk... don't you ever take it easy? Here, drink a little." He extended the his hand, swigging the half full can in front of Keito and raising his eyebrows.
"And drink from the same can as you? Gross." Keito felt his face flush slightly at the absurd suggestion. "You should stop drinking and smoking anyways, these addictions are just money pits. You don't get anything out of them, alcohol tastes like shit and it's the reason you live in this mess-"
"Fuck it. I'm tired of working anyways." Natsuki shot back the rest of the drink, holding it in his mouth as he crawled forwards, slotting himself between Keito's legs.
"Huh? You've hardly been working anyways! Wha- What are you doing?!" Keito flinched back, face fully flushed and the red spreading down his neck. Natsuki was now fully on Keito's lap, his hand holding the taller's man chin and leaning his head back. Is he insane??? Was the last thought that filled his head before he felt Natsuki's soft lips meet his and the bitter alcohol poured down his throat.
"ACK- HAUGHK- AUCKH-" Keito choked as Natsuki finally pulled back, a pleased look on his face, well as please as Natsuki could look. Keito felt hot everywhere, the beer warming his stomach and his face burning from embarrassment, "YOU CRAZY BASTARD! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?"
"Loosen up will you, I'm just playing." Natsuki lightly laughed, his dull eyes filled with mirth.
Keito's mind ran at a mile a minute, PLAYING?? Yea right! Why is this bastard still between my legs??
"You're so red, it's funny... and a little satisfying, kinda like payback.." Natsuki leaned closer, inspecting Keito further, his deep voice brushing against the other's ear and causing him to shiver. "So whatcha think? Did that help get the stick out your ass?"
"Back up will you?" Keito placed his hand against Natsuki's chest and shoved, but the blonde was deceivingly sturdy, hardly budging. "And, no. It didn't. Beer tastes like ass, I told you this already." Keito forced himself to calm down, to stop thinking about the kiss, he was embarassing himself completely.
"Well yea. No one drinks cause they like the taste, they drink to get drunk. Duh."
"I doubt that's true." And Keito fully means it, the memory of Natsuki's sweet lip gloss mixing with the cold beer still vivid in his mind. He kind of misses it. No! Enough! What are you doing Keito?
Natsuki stared at Keito, the brunette zoned out, fully in his own head, and smiled. "You realize that you've been staring at my lips this whole time right?"
Fuck. I totally have. "-Huh? No. I haven't." Keito quickly looked up, meeting brown eyes and panicked, realizing that looking there didn't help, stuttering until he finally chose to just look away, staring holes into the floor.
"I've never seen someone buffer in real time. Impressive." Natsuki finally leaned back, climbing off of Keito, seemingly satisfied. Keito appreciated the much needed space, until Natsuki spoke again. "Look. I'm not planning on working anymore today. So if you're still waiting around for the song, just leave. If not..." Natsukis voice faded off, and then his lip quirked upwards, "you're more than welcome to stay."
Right. The new song. He forgot about that. And Natsuki's offer... Keito wasn't an idiot. He knew what he was getting at. And then he made a split moment decision. Tired of letting someone younger embarrass him to such a degree, he lurched forward, reaching out towards Natsuki's cheek as he held him firmly and kissed him deeply. A surprised sound escaped Natsuki at the sudden movement, but he quickly found himself adapting, closing his eyes and leaning into the kiss.
It wasn't until Keito found himself out of breathe that he pulled back, lips shiny and panting, pleased to see that Natsuki was finally at least a fraction as flushed as he was. Natsuki reached up and traced his finger against Keito's bottom lip, smiling, "I like the choice you've made."
