Lance pushed open the door. This was his dorm at the school he dreamed of going to since he was what? 5 yeah 5 sounds right
Of course the 1st thing he sees is even though he got here extra early his roommate was already unpacked and here…
The one person he didn’t want to room with keith kogane now before you even ask why he dislikes himself much it’s because keith kogane is
An overly angry
Self absorbed jerk
Who thinks his the best at everything
And the worst part is
Keith is good at like everything lance wants to be his a great pilot best of their class back in flight school and okay maybe lance was a bit over the top about keith thinking his the best at everything truth be told unless keith was in a fight with someone he was pretty quite
And now he had to room with keith… how pleasant

Keith laid on his bed he was sooo happy he got to unpack early because of shiro who barely managed to get the permission to let keith move in the night before but he did
And now today most people will be moving in today he probably won’t speak much to his roommate much or maybe at all he hopes it’s not james thats really it
The door creeks open keith looks up from his phone to see a tall tanned boy standing there he looks familiar but no name comes to mind oh well
“How are you already settled in?” lance says walking fully into the room placing his things down on and near the bed
“They let me move in early”
“Why?” Why did keith get permission to move in early? Maybe it was Mr.Shirogane, him and keith were close or something. He didn't know the specifics but from what he could gather Mr.Shirogane is playing some type of parental role? Mentor? Role
“Shiro convinced them”
“Of course he did what’s with you and Mr.Shirogane anyway?” Was that too personal to ask? Uh lance doesn’t care he really wants to know
Keith looks at him with an annoyed expression on his face. Who does this guy think he is? You don’t just ask those sorts of things to someone you just met! Well he thinks he doesn’t know this guy yeah well he did look familiar that was it “Thats a very personal question to ask someone you just met”
“Keith we were in the same class last year”
“We were?”
“Yes it’s me lance we were rivals!”
“Oh lance yeah i remember now i wouldn’t say we were rivals”
Weren’t rivals? Keith didn’t even think they were close to the same level did he?
“We were like neck and neck!”
Keith just nods along before looking back down at his phone
See this is what lance was on about keith he thinks his soooo much better then everyone
Lance takes a deep breath there is no use getting angry till he finishes unpacking that is

Lance had gone to get dinner leaving keith all alone at last lance didn’t seem to be a big fan of him
Keith can’t work out why though did he say something to lance at some point? Maybe ignore him? Mistake him for someone else and almost get into a fight with him? Oh whatever
Keith gets up from his bed, he wanted to go find Shiro. He was bored and well who else did he have to speak to? Not like he had many or well any friends i mean him and james sometimes got along but that was only because the teachers really wanted the top students to work together
Keith ties his shows and grabs his jacket before walking down the corridors

“This is just not fair you and pidge get to share a room! While I am stuck with him!” lance says pacing around hunk and pidge’s room the 2 hadn’t even finished unpacking but this could NOT wait
“Him?” pidge asks tilting her head looking up slightly from her game
“Keith” lance crosses his arms “his insufferable”
“Keith who?”
“Kogane” hunk chimes in “you know the one thats close withMr.Shirogane”
“What is with that anyway” lance mutters, "What was the deal with keith and Mr.Shirogane?
“Oh i know him”
“You do?” hunk asks looking at pidge confused he didn’t know that
“Oh yeah shiro and my dad are friends we’ve had tea with him a few times doesn’t talk much i mean him and matt got on alright but matt said he wasn’t super chatty even when he went to shiro’s”
“Wait wait wait you're telling me you don’t think he's annoying?” lance asks he was shocked
“I don’t think anything of him”
“Alright well pidge i’ll have you know that he is insufferable and i don’t know why Mr.Shirogane or your brother can even stand him!”
“Right and this isn’t just because he was better in flight school right?”
“Of course not! Now back to what i was saying”

Keith stands out side of shiro’s apartment taking the key out his had this key for a while but it still feels wrong to use like his intruding on something even when he knows his not he knows the two what have anything special going on not when students are moving into the campus
He pushes the door open after unlocking it stepping into the apartment
“Oh hi keith” adam says looking up from his seat on the sofa “you need to tell shiro something right”
“Uh yeah”
“He’ll be home later so why don’t you actually why don’t you tell use over tea”
“Who said I'd be staying for tea?”
“Me now sit”
Keith nods and sits next to adam taking his shoes off before doing so
