Chapter Text
“New vampires have moved into the neighbourhood,” Guillermo said, looking into the camera. He wasn’t sure how long this documentary was going to last but it was second nature now. “If it was just one group, that could be handled well enough. But there are three houses bought by vampires. Nandor, Nadja and Laszlo aren’t handling it well.”
Guillermo worried about what would happen if the vampires tried to kill him. He already accidently killed some vampires and very much not accidently killed a lot more. But now several other vampires, it was too big of a risk. Not only that, his vampires weren’t very good with other vampires, no matter what they said.
“We’re going to introduce ourselves to some of the new vamps in town,” Nadja said, coming into the room.
Guillermo jumped up, he could hear the camera crew behind him, but he blocked them out.
“Do you think that is necessary?” he asked, hoping she changed her mind. “We don’t really need to meet everyone.”
“Not everyone, just one of them. It’s been so long since we lived with vampires so close, I hope they don’t die tragically.”
That was what Guillermo was afraid of. Sometimes he just couldn’t help it, his Van Helsing blood just got carried away.
“NANDOR! LASZLO!” Nadja yelled. “WE ARE LEAVING!”
“Where are we going?” Colin asked, coming into the entryway.
“You weren’t invited, Colin Robinson,” Nadja told him.
“She wants to meet some of the neighbours,” Guillermo told him. Feeling more worried by the moment.
“What do we know about these vampires?” Colin asked.
“Nothing, Colin Robinson, this is the reason we are going to introduce ourselves,” Nadja said.
“I have nothing to wear to meet the new vampires,” Nandor said, coming down the stairs with his everyday grandeur.
“What’s wrong with what you have on, you tit,” Laszlo snapped.
“I want to look nice,” Nandor replied.
“You look great, master,” Guillermo said then felt a little self-conscious.
“Thank you, Guillermo, but these are vampires and their opinion matter.”
Guillermo shook his head. He should be used to the digs by now, but it still hurt. But he had plans to be a vampire, so he had to stick it out a little longer.
Nadja smoothed out her dress and looked back at them. “Let’s go. We will be making a good impression,” she told them. Guillermo knew she was serious; she expected them to follow and they would.
Guillermo didn’t know which new family they would be visiting until Nadja crossed the street and went one house over. It was a nice house, kept in much better shape than theirs but the vampires had just moved in. Soon the yard work would faulter because no one could get out during the day.
“Remember, be sophisticated,” Nadja said as she raised her hand to knock.
“Let me get that,” Guillermo leaned in and hit the doorbell. He hoped they didn’t have a Ring cam, but then again, vampires were always behind the time.
After a moment, the door opened and a young-looking man answered.
“Hello?”
He was good-looking but what drew Guillermo’s attention was the little girl at his feet. She was smiling at them.
Nadja looked at the girl and back at the man. “Oh, we didn’t mean to interrupt your snack,” she said to the man.
“She’s a tiny thing, won’t take him a minute,” Laszlo said.
“She’s not a snack. She’s my daughter.”
Laszlo, Nadja and Nandor laughed.
“I think he’s being serious, master,” Guillermo said quietly to Nandor.
“Nonsense. Vampires cannot have children,” Nandor said.
“That’s not necessarily true,” Colin said before starting to talk about energy vampires.
“No one is talking to you, Colin Robinson,” Nadja said.
“Edward, who’s at the door?” a voice said before a young brunette woman, joined the girl and the man.
“I think it is our neighbours,” the man said. He held out his hand to Nadja. “I’m Edward, this is my wife Bella and our daughter Renesmee.”
“Are you not vampires?” Nadja asked, incensed.
“We are,” Edward said, pushing the girl behind him some.
“How have you gotten a child? You’re not supposed to steal them. It’s very frowned upon,” Nandor chastised them.
“She’s ours, I birthed her…sort of,” Bella, the wife said.
“Eww,” Nadja, Nandor and Laszlo cried together.
“We were just about to go to bed,” Edward said.
“It’s not even daylight yet,” Laszlo said. “What kind of insanity is this?”
“I think we should go home. They are clearly broken,” Nadja scoffed.
When the rest turned to walk away, Colin waved and told them it was nice to met them. Guillermo was just confused about the whole situation. He would have to look into it. Had they turned a little girl into a vampire? That was just not done.
