Chapter Text
Will Byers
Will woke up earlier than usual and decided to take a shower. However, when he got to the bathroom, he heard the shower turn off. As he turned to leave he saw Mike getting out of the shower, and then they locked eyes for a moment before they both went red in the cheeks and looked away. Will covered his eyes and walked away, but then he ran face—first into the door as he left the room.
Later, at breakfast, Will awkwardly bumped into Mike in the kitchen and tried to brush it off, but Mike grabbed him by the wrist and softly said his name.
“Yea?” Will asked quietly as he turned to look at Mike.
“Can we… Can we talk?” Mike asked in a whisper. “In private?”
“Yeah… Can it wait ‘til after breakfast?”
“Sure, yeah,” Mike sighed.
“Mike! Will! Come eat!” Mike’s mom, Karen called to them from the table.
“Coming!” Mike and Will replied in unison.
Mike Wheeler
As he shoved a bite of eggs in his mouth, Mike looked over to the right, at Will, and saw what happened in the bathroom that morning playing again and again in his mind, he kept seeing Will’s face turn bright pink in the steamy room, and his eyes dilate as he saw Mike getting out of the shower. He’s so adorable! Mike had thought for a moment, then he grabbed a towel, closed the shower curtain, and felt his face turn the color of ripe cherries.
“…Mike? It’s time to get ready for school…” He heard Will say softly, his hand quickly moving away from Mike’s thin leg.
“Shit,” he thought as he wiped toast crumbs off of his blue and yellow striped shirt.
