Summary
The first time Dean asked his father to teach him how to play pool, Dean was five. When his hand-eye coordination developed, John began to use him for hustling. No one expected a nine-year-old to know the rules to snooker, never mind beating any adults at the game, but Dean was already that good. When Sam left for college Dean started looking into amateur championships in snooker.
After one such tournament, a businessman called Crowley suggests Dean to come and meet other players at his billiard hall. Despite Dean having doubts about chasing new dreams as a 26-year-old, he decides to visit Crowley’s hall a couple of times. At the hall, Dean meets Castiel Novak, a 35-year-old professional player high in the rankings for the world’s best player. They have immediate chemistry, and although Castiel almost never privately mentors younger players, he agrees to give Dean a couple of training sessions.
Sparks fly between them, when Cas teaches Dean’s the proper ways to handle hard wood and balls. And also play snooker.
