Induced giant tears to fall from my eyes while I was on the bus. This made me think on and remember that I too sometimes forget when my friends, colleagues, family members, aquaintances, and other are dead. Their ghosts live on in memory. And when one is somewhere else they frequented less one always thinks they are in the other room, at the butchers, a cafe, the library, the park, but they never come.
I sometimes still find myself turning back to make a remark to one of my oldest friends, but he has been dead for almost 2 years now. Sometimes i lose track of all those that have passed, I would sometimes loom back and think that "only" 8 died that one year before I remember yet another that passed and is no longer with us.
As [I don't remember who] said, "Memories of love, they hurt", and that could not be closer to the truth. One misses the fun times, the sad times, the hard times and the easy. One misses the shoulder one cried on during tragedies past and arms hugged when scared or frightened. One misses the hussle and bustle that there was in old hot spots and must-visit places. The drama, the gossip, the arguments, the laughter, sorrow, boredome, glee, and annoyance. One misses it all.
This story captures that feeling perfectly.
For once again, memories of love, they hurt.
