Work Text:
“This is high quality tequila babe.” Lucy says watching as Tim pours her a drink. He looks up and gives her a look before pushing it towards. “Thank you.” Tim hum softly and then picks up his own beer and takes a sip.
“I figured you are tired of having my beer all the time.” He says. Lucy gives him a look and takes a shot of the tequila before putting the glass down.
“Am I tired of it? Or are you?” She asks. Tim sighs and pulls her glass back towards him to pour some more.
“I don’t mind sharing.” He says. “With you. But I figured if we start having people over then maybe we need more variety in the house.” Lucy watches as he pours, and he really does know her. She didn’t even have to ask but he just bought her tequila, and it was the good stuff. The really good stuff.
“Are you trying to get me drunk?” Lucy asks and she takes another shot of the tequila. Tim raises his eyebrows at her.
“It doesn’t take much.” He says.
“You have had like two beers already.” She says. Tim shrugs and leans over to give her a kiss.
“I guess I’m used to it.” He says. Lucy blows out a breath as he walks away and goes to the couch. She could join him which is what he would want or she could pour herself another shot. She goes for the second option and takes the shot.
“Hey babe.” She says. She hears Tim say something but she can’t quite understand. She continues anyway. “I’m going to clean.”
“Clean?” Tim asks and he raises himself up to look at her. “Clean what?”
“You know—stuff. Maybe reorganize.” She says. Tim just stares at her, and then lowers himself back down. He was used to her by this point and he just went with it.
Which she appreciates. A lot.
“Okay.” He says. “Do what you have to do Luce.” She smiles and the starts wiping up the counters. She pours herself another shot, and then makes her way towards the bathroom. It’s a lot brighter than before. She likes to think she added her light to it. She leans against the door and then pushes herself away from it. She goes over to the dresser and digs through her bra and underwear drawer, Tim had made room for her before she even started to move in.
She loves him a lot.
She fishes out the sighed baseball she got for him for Valentine’s Day and stares at it. It really was the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. Her boyfriend was crazy about baseball—just like she was about tequila. She just knew when she saw it, she had to get it. It had to be hers and well—she made it happen.
She stares at it for a few more seconds before she’s crouching down and pulling out a box she keeps hidden under the dresser. It was full of random things from her childhood, college and other times in her life. She thinks at one point she even hid the necklace from Tim in here after the breakup.
“Perfect spot for this.” She mutters and then she giggles as she closes it and pushes it under the dresser again. Tim has no idea it’s there and he wouldn’t even think to look there. “Perfect. He will never know.”
She gets up and she feels a little dizzy as she looks around the bedroom. It’s clean, the bed is made and there isn’t a speck of dust or dirt on the floor. It helps that Tim is a neat freak.
She giggles and tiptoes out to the living room where she finds Tim fast asleep a arm covering his face. The game he was watching is still playing in the background.
“Babe.” She whispers yells. Tim doesn’t move or so much as flinch. She pushes at his shoulders. “Babe wake up!”
Tim slowly opens his eyes and she does the only logical thing: she climbs on top of him and leans down to kiss him. “Did you get your cleaning done?” He asks.
“No. I don’t think I got any cleaning done.” She says. Tim closes his eyes and rubs at his forehead.
“Great.” He says. He grabs her hips and pulls her forward. “Not in the mood for cleaning?”
“No.” She says and leans down to kiss him again. “You know Valentine’s Day is in a few weeks.”
“I know.” Tim says. “Believe me. I know.” Lucy nods and kisses him again.
“Good.” She says. “I also might need more tequila.” Tim lets out a laugh and shakes his head at her.
“I think you have had enough for tonight.” He says. “How about we get ready for bed?” Lucy nods and now that’s he mentioned it.. bed did sound like a wonderful thing.
“Okay.” She says but she doesn’t move or even want to move. She’s very comfortable right on his chest.
“Lucy.” Tim says with an amused look on his face. “I have to get up in order to get ready for bed.”
“Oh all right.” She grumbles and slides off of him. Tim gets up and wraps himself around her.
“Have I told you I really like having you here?” He asks. “Because I really do.” Lucy sighs softly but she’s happy, and she feels so light.
“I like being here with you.” She says. “You buy me tequila and take me to bed.” Tim lets out a laugh and stops her just before the bedroom.
“What else am I here for?” Tim asks. He presses a kiss to her forehead and she knows this is forever. There may be bumps in the road but it’s worth it. It’s worth it. Tim is worth it. They are worth it.
“To love me.” Lucy says and Tim grins at her. “Right?” Tim nods and kisses her again. She probably tastes like tequila but it doesn’t matter.
“Absolutely.” Tim says. “That’s the best part of all. I love you too.”

Lucy wakes up with a headache, and Tim wrapped around her. She sits up and blinks a couple of times. She has no idea what happened last night. She knows Tim bought her tequila but beyond that—
She rubs at her forehead and looks over at Tim who is starting to stir. “Good morning.” He mutters. “You good?”
“Yeah.” She mutters. “I feel like I hid something last night.” Tim raises his eyebrows at her.
“You hid something?” He asks. “What?”
“I don’t know.” Lucy says and rubs at her forehead again. “I think it was something important.”
“Oh.” Tim says and he leans over to kiss her cheek. “I’m sure you will figure it out Luce.” Lucy nods and gives him a smile.
And she really hopes that is true.
She would remember it. She would remember it. Eventually.
