Amy stared at the three outfits she picked out, staring at each premade ensemble as if they could get up and attack her at any moment, the silk gloves that made up part of her pajamas smoothing out each outfit.
“C’mon Ames’ they’re not gonna think TOO hard about what dress you're wearing!” Sonic laughed as he smoothed out the leather jacket he had adorned, most likely one he stole from Shadow Amy shaking her head as she kept staring at the three outfits of various reds and pinks.
“But I want to look perfect! Metal set up this date by themself and I really wanna show that I care!” Amy pouted, Sonic laughing as he moved to swing an arm around her shoulder.
“Please, you'll be fine! Just go with your gut and you’ll be golden!” The cobalt hedgehog flashed Amy that carefree smile he always wore, Amy just laughing as she looked back down at the clothing options.
“How about you pick? You go with your gut for me.” she gestured to the three outfits, Sonic leaning in to stare at them for two seconds before pointing to the sleeveless white dress with a red cardigan.
“That one, they’ll LOVE that one.” Sonic decided, moving away from Amy to text Shadow that he was ready, moving closer to her front door.
“See ya tomorrow Ames’! Enjoy your date!” Sonic waved as he zipped outside, the rose colored hedgehog seeing Shadow’s motorcycle pull up just a few minutes after, Sonic pecking the hybrid on the cheek before hopping on the back, the two speeding away.
Amy quickly moved to get dressed herself, even deciding to add white and pink spotted dot tights to her outfits, adorning MaryJanes instead of her usual red boots.
The hedgehog looked at herself in the mirror, staring out the outfit before finally nodding, deciding on it and grabbing the gift she got the robot, custom LEDs to fit onto their wrist, mimicking gloves.
“You got this Amy, you got this!” she hyped herself up before finally stepping outside her home, beginning to walk to their agreed meeting spot.
The first scene Amy was met with was Metal nervously pacing, clearly just as nervous as she was, their red LEDs glancing over at her and the robot quickly stiffened up, an overheating warning flashing over their face screen, making Amy giggle.
(‘Guess I was worried for nothing.’) Amy thought to herself as she moved to give the robot a hug, the latter freezing up but quickly moved to hug her back, the rose colored hedgehog feeling the warming sensation of Metal’s scanners lightly scanning her back and the fabric of the clothes she wore.
“Do you like it? I decided to change it up for this!” she chirped, small chuffs leaving her as Metal paused, scrolling through their audio library and playing a mechanical synth sound of purrs, Amy’s muzzle matching her fur at the sound.
“I’ll take that as a yes!” she smiled brightly as Metal moved to guide her to the blanket they had prepared, while there wasn’t anything besides a small wrapped present on the blanket that's not what the main attraction was for this meeting.
It was the sky.
They agreed on star gazing.
Metal quietly moved to grab the gift they had made for Amy, offering it to the rose colored hedgehog as she softly smiled, accepting the box before moving to give the robot her own gift, watching as Metal’s LEDs scanned the gift shortly before looking up at Amy, clearly waiting for her to open it.
And she did, carefully opening the small box to reveal a small bracelet, a hand made bead bracelet that spelled out her name with pink, white and red beads, a gift made of love.
“Metal, this is wonderful!” she beamed, quickly moving to put it on the little trinket, Metal mimicking a bashful expression and looking away, even lightly waving their hand in a ‘aw gee’ motion.
Amy herself remained silent as she watched Metal open their own gift, their LEDs widening as they looked up at her, quickly wrapping her in a hug, Amy giggling as she hugged them back and placed a light kiss on their metal muzzle.
Another overheating warning lightly buzzed against her lips as Metal just snuggled into the crook of her neck, Amy sighing contently as she moved for the two of them to lay down on the blanket, her Persian green gaze just looking up at the stars, watching as a comet streaked by and guided her to shut her eyes, snuggling into the robot as she silently made her wish.
(‘I wish things could be like this forever…’) she silently wished to herself, Metal shifting to look up and Amy and nuzzle their face into her quills, still playing the synthetic purring, her own purrs joining the sound.
