Summary
“Love.” Nene deadpans.
“Yeah, like you two circle each other like two animals until the inevitable happens. Except animals have more braincells than you and don’t blame everything on their teenage hormones.” Mitsuba rubs his eyes with a bleariness that could only be described as one you could only attain from occasional thirdwheeling.
“I was in a very emotional headspace and you know that! I can’t believe I’m surrounded by a bunch of heartless cretins.” Nene whines, facepalming as she nearly knocks herself out in the process.
“Okay. So, there’s this thing called kissing. I think it might be helpful for the two of you. The stench of repression is getting out of hand over here.” Mitsuba puts a hand over his heart as if he’s being a perfectly reasonable person.
Nene almost blacks out. Hanako still has an unrecognisable look on his face. Possibly shock. Possibly the last two brain cells in his head using its last remaining strength to finally make him realise the painfully clear truth.
Or, Hanako and Nene call it an argument. Kou and Mitsuba call it love.
