Chapter Text
Kitty is no stranger to getting sick, but being by herself in Seoul without the comfort of her family makes it worse.
She woke up that morning with a sore throat, a raging headache, and can only breathe out of one nostril. She barely got out of bed and made it to the bathroom to check her temperature and when it came back it was a 103. Kitty took a picture of the thermometer with her temperature and attached the photo to send to Principal Lee.
K. Song-Covey: Good morning, Principal Lee. I’m sorry but I can’t come to class today as I woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose, a headache, and a fever. I don’t want to risk the others from getting sick and interrupting their learning.
After hitting send, Kitty slowly walked out of the bathroom and noticed her roommates were gone, which is good for her since she doesn’t want them to see her sick. She headed to the kitchen for some hot lemon tea and to take some medication. She made her tea when her phone dinged.
Principal Lee: Thank you for letting me know about your condition, Ms Song-Covey. I will inform your teachers about your absence and get better soon.
K. Song-Covey: Thank you, Principal Lee.
Her tea finished and she swallowed it with some pills. She grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and picked up everything to go back to bed. She placed her tea water down on her night stand and silenced her phone before instantly falling back to sleep when her head hit the pillow.

“Has anyone seen Kitty today?” Q asked as he and Jin joined the others at the table for lunch.
“No, and I’m really worried,” Dae said.
“I hope she’s ok,” Eunice frowned and picked at her salad.
“Juliana, Madison, Eunice, you’re Kitty’s roommates, you must know something!” Jin desperately said.
Minho was focused on his phone and blocking their conversation as he spam Kitty. He’s been anxious all day, waiting for any sign of life from her. He didn’t see her over the weekend and he misses her.
“She was fast asleep when we left to get coffee and I felt bad if I woke her up since I know she hasn’t been sleeping a ton lately,” Madison said.
“What if she’s sick?” Yuri suggested.
“That could be a possibility if she hasn’t been sleeping, plus all the stress she’s been under,” Juliana said.
“Oh, I feel so bad. We just noticed she’s sick and she’s alone in the dorm,” Eunice said.
“I’ll go!” Minho jumped up, which caused the rest to jolt in surprise.
“Really?” Q asked, raising his eyebrow with a smirk. He knows no matter how many times Minho tries to deny it, he still has feelings for Kitty. Minho blushed from being caught by his best friend and knows Q will tease him later, but Minho wants to make sure Kitty is ok.
“Yeah, I don’t have any work in my other classes, so I’ll go take care of her.”
“Ok, thanks Minho,” Madison smiled.
Minho nodded and grabbed his book bag and walked out of the cafeteria.
“He is totally whipped for Kitty,” Madison said before taking a huge bite of her food.
“Madison!” Eunice said.
“What! Eunice, he’s been whipped for her since last year of first semester,” Madison pointed out.
“You knew?!” Q asked, looking at Madison in surprise.
“It was really obvious,” Juliana snorted and Madison nodded.
Dae picked at his food with his fork. He confronted Minho if he had feelings for Kitty and he always told him how they’re great friends and he doesn’t, but to know that he’s been lying to him and probably Kitty as well just hurt. He wants them to be happy, but it’s weird that his best friend would date his ex-girlfriend. But he would get over (even if it would probably be awhile) if it’s really something they want and if it makes them happy.
“No matter, Minho would nurse our Chaos Queen in no time,” Q said and everyone agreed to that as they know how Minho takes his health seriously as his skincare.

Minho sped walked off campus and headed to his dorm first to grab all of his medical equipment and took it over to Kitty’s dorm. He knocked on her door and when no one answered, he twisted the handle and opened. He looked around for any sign of life but didn’t and moved over to Kitty and Madison’s shared room. He heard light snoring while sniffing and softly smiled. He quietly opened the door to peek to see Kitty buried in her comforter and a stuffed moon plushie in her arms. He stood there for a couple more seconds before moving to the kitchenette and looked through the fridge and cabinets of the perfect dish to make that would soothe Kitty’s sickness. He found the stuff to make Jook, a porridge that would be easy for her to swallow, and Doraji Tea, and got to work making them.
He was finishing up the tea when he heard a creek and lifted up to see Kitty. Her hair was messy and had a sleep mark on her cheek. She was rubbing her eye and sniffed as she looked surprised to see him in her kitchenette.
“Minho…?” she said, her voice scratchy.
“Hi, Covey,” he smiled as he wiped his hands with a towel.
“What are you doing here?” she asked as she stepped closer to look at what he made.
“Everyone was worried since you didn’t show up to school and had no messages, so I volunteered myself to go take care of you,” he said.
“Minho Moon worrying about me, wow, didn’t think I would see the day,” she teased as she took a sip of the tea.
“I always worry about you,” he quietly admitted.
Kitty looked at him and could feel her heart beating faster. She still has feelings for him ever since the time he helped her with her family and comforted her in the rain. She still hasn’t told him about her feelings and it’s been hard as she falls deeper in love with him when he does small things like this. She usually goes heart first into these types of things and doesn’t really think of the outcomes, but with Minho it’s different. She wants it to last longer and she would wait it out for however long it would take as he told her he was better as a playboy, so she respected his decision and will stand with him as a friend. But it doesn’t hurt her heart unless when seeing him with a girl or when he does these sweet things and realizes he doesn’t like her anymore.
“Covey?” he said, breaking her out of her thoughts.
“Sorry. Got lost in thought, but thank you for this,” she smiled and sipped more of her tea as her throat was killing her.
He smiled back at her and took her porridge in one hand and the other took her hand to take her to the couch. They sat on the couch and Kitty started taking bites of her porridge as Minho put her favorite show on.
As the show ran, Kitty started getting tired again and shifted to be closer to Minho and laid her head on his shoulder. He softly smiled to himself and grabbed a nearby pillow to lay on his lap and moved Kitty to have her head on the pillow. He started playing with her hair and scratching her scalp as he continued watching her show and letting her sleep.
Eventually, he fell asleep and when Madison, Juliana, and Eunice came back, they smirked at the two and hoped they would confess their feelings for the other soon. Eunice grabbed a blanket for the two and Madison took a picture to save for later. The three girls let them sleep and went to their rooms to do their own things.
