Drown You Out

Summary:

Grian sits in his nest, a blanket wraps around his body, trying to hide from the world, and from himself.

He’s been feeling down lately, not helped by the background feeling of dysphoria that are a constant.

Some days it’s better…some days he can’t ignore them…

Today’s one of those days.

He’s been like this for about 2 hours now, not getting out of bed yet.

Grian's been on his comn, trying to distract himself from the thoughts.

‘Look at yourself, you're a liar.’ ‘Your lying to everyone, you're no man.’ ‘Your not a boy, you're a girl. You were born a girl, you will die a girl.’ ‘Nobody wants your lying ass-’

“Gri!”

or, Trans-Grian has been suffering with dysphoric thoughts and Scar comes in to distract him, to try and make him feel better

Notes:

February kissing prompt day 22: Hands on the other person's back, fingertips pressing under their top, drawing gentle circles against the small strip of skin that makes them break the kiss with a gasp

Work Text:

Grian sits in his nest, a blanket wraps around his body, trying to hide from the world, and from himself.

He’s been feeling down lately, not helped by the background feeling of dysphoria that are a constant.

Some days it’s better…some days he can’t ignore them…

Today’s one of those days.

The avian sits there, wings wrapped tightly around his little body, a blanket around everything, trying to hide.

He’s been like this for about 2 hours now, not getting out of bed yet.

He’s been on his comn, trying to distract himself from the thoughts.

Look at yourself, you're a liar.’ ‘Your lying to everyone, you're no man.’ ‘Your not a boy, you're a girl. You were born a girl, you will die a girl.’ ‘Nobody wants your lying ass-

“Gri!” a voice calls, accompanying a knocking on his bedroom door.

Grian lifts his head from looking down at his comn, whipping away a few tears that had started to fall down his cheeks, not wanting Scar to see them.

“Scar?” he says, hoping his voice won’t crack, giving away how sad he is right now.

His bedroom door opens and Scar wheels in, one hand over his eyes, other pushing the door open, “Are you decent?”

Grian laughs a little, “Yeah Scar, you can come in.”

Scar lowers his hand, smiling, “Well hello there you handsome little bird boy.” Scar says, starting to move his wheelchair towards Grian’s nest.

“Hi Scar.” Grian says, cheeks pink from the complement.

He’s not really feeling handsome right now, but he does not want to say that to Scar…not to Scar…not to anyone really…though Scar would understand. Scar would tell him he thinks he looks handsome, shooting him one of his Scar smiles that Grian loves.

Scar has made it to Grian’s nest of a bed, stopping by it, locking his wheelchair’s wheels before pulling himself up on shaky legs, sitting on the edge of Grian’s nest, using his arms to pull himself till he’s sitting in front of Grian.

“Hey there handsome.” Scar says, winking at Grian.

Grian turns off his comn, pulling it back into his blanket covering, giving his boyfriend his full attention.

“Hello.” he says, smiling meekly.

“Grian. Are you a garden?” Scar asks, grinning.

Grian raises an eyebrow, questioning Scar’s words.

“Because I am digging you.” he says, wiggling his eyes.

Grian just stares at him, a smile forming on his face before he just starts to giggle.

“Scccccar!” he whines, “that was so chessy!”

“Was it?” Scar asks in a confused tone, “So you didn’t like it?”

“No, no, I…I liked it, Scar.” Grian says, chuckling, “It just was…unexspected?”

“Mmnn.” Scar hums, “You like the unexpected, right?”

“Well I mean-”

Scar leans in, pressing their lips together.

Grian is surprised at first but leans into the unexpected kiss, eyes fluttering closed, a warm feeling rowing deeper in his chest. ‘Good gods, Scar is amazing’ he thinks as they kiss.

He feels Scar’s hands move across his hips, under the blanket, pulling him a little closer.

Grian leans into it, allowing the taller man to pull them both closer, drawing Grian a little bit out of his huddle, but Scar a little bit in.

The avian feels as Scar’s fingertips dip under the hem of his shirt, slowly tracing circles into his back, about 4-5 inches below his binder.

The feeling is pleasant, but also unexpected, causing the avian to gasp a little in surprise, temporarily breaking the kiss with a small gasp.

Scar pulls away, tilting his head in concern, but Grian grabs his cheeks, pulling him back in for another kiss.

After they separate for air, Grian gulps down a few breaths before saying, “T-thank you Scar. I really needed that.”

“You're welcome.” Scar says, wiping his lips off, “now what do you say we go and make you something to eat?”

“I would like that.” Grian says, smiling.
