    “Hi,” Whitaker said, almost shy. He grasped the edge of the island. “I’m really sorry.”

    “Nothing to apologize for.” Robby knew the walls were going up, that he was entering Professional Mode.

    “We should talk about it.”

    Robby sighed, ducking his head. He thought about Whitaker, finding him in Pedes. “Yeah. Ok.” He poured two mugs of coffee, sliding one over. “You need a place to stay, and I want you to stay--I’m happy to have you stay.”

    Whitaker nodded. “So we probably shouldn’t fuck.”

    Robby laughed, closing his eyes for a moment. “Right.”

    Or: Whitaker and Robby almost sleep together, then realize they're going to need some "house rules" if they're going to live together.
