Summary
The town is exactly as Lance imagined it; the pictures online helped him build his imaginary future here. He saved the pictures to his phone for the sole purpose of posting online to show off his new life to the people he left behind in the city. But leaving his home, his apartment there, was really rough; he didn’t really have friends, well, he did have friends, but growing as a person means letting go of people who refuse to grow with you. But he needed a new lease on life, something that excited him. His friends wanted the city life, partying, drinking, and meeting celebrities, for a long time, that is what Lance wanted. To forget his troubles by drinking and staying out late, but now, he wanted different things in life; he craved the calm and fresh outdoors that reminded him of his childhood in Cuba. To him, it didn’t matter, in the end, if it had a beach or an ocean nearby as long as it was somewhere far away from the sound of the City.
