Summary
In 1991, twenty three year old Jack Abbot meets Thea Montgomery, a twenty one year old Preschool teacher. He was fresh off his first tour in the Army, already enlisted to return to active duty within the next month or two, and Thea had only been a teacher for a year. There were so many things he could fall in love with about her; her brain, the cute birthmark over her eyebrow, the way her honey colored eyes shined with mirth. They never fell in love, though, there wasn’t enough time. They started their relationship hot and heavy, but that passion fizzled out just as quickly as Jack’s month was nearing to an end. Jack and Thea had a nice goodbye, Thea promising to wait for him if he wanted. He never held it to her, though, and when he got back three years later, down a leg and part of his sanity, he was glad she lied. Thea wasn’t waiting for him when he got back; he never saw her again.
In 2019, Jack Abbot is now in a happy relationship with his best friend, Michael Robinavitch, and feels like his personal life is finally in a stable place. His life gets flipped on it’s head when a twenty seven year old man with the same birthmark as Thea shows up in the Pitt with some surprising news.
