The Devil's Lover

Summary:

“I can see why Eve would have taken the apple,” one person says. A small blush on their face. Their eyes glanced back and forth from the statue. A hand covers her mouth as if to stop herself from saying anything silly.

“He certainly lives up to the title of a fallen angel. Even being tainted with darkness.” She says. The woman lets her eyes scan over the statue again, a bit longer this time, before moving away to the next exhibit in the museum.

“The angel doesn't look scared.” Another person would whisper as their eyes scanned over the statue. A hint of confusion laced their words. “He almost looks serene. At peace with life.”

The male leans forward before glancing back at his friend.

“No, it. looks…. serene.” The other male says. The two of them stood for a while more, looking at the statue. They each took turns picking out small details that they saw, but never really touched on who they thought was the devil or angel.

Earth

There was a statue on Earth, made of delicate, sculptured marble. It was so smooth that you could feel it by looking at it. Historians who have touched it have said the stone has no imperfections.

The figures sat on top of a rectangular box that looked very similar to an altar.

Some say it looked more like a sacrificial altar. Others would call that crazy and say it's just something for them to sit on, nothing more, nothing less.

The first figure to catch your eye was the blonde … being. Most scholars consider him a male, but their chest was plump and rounded, while also having male genitals. He has blonde hair, but with the pose, his irises have not been painted.

Instead of regular feet, the blonde had golden-colored hooves, surrounded by black fur that climbed up into golden fur before transitioning to white skin. His arms were similarly painted.

He's leaning back onto another, presumably a male figure whose right arm wraps around the first figure's arm. As the lighter figure's arm wrapped underneath the darker figure's arm, his blackened hand dug into the other figure's red hair.

Red fur lightly ran across the red-haired male's shoulders. It ran up his back and his upper arms.

Like the blonde figure, the red-haired male had hooves. But instead of gold, they were red. Black fur from the hooves bleeds into darker brown skin. One hoof rested on the top of the rectangular box. The other hoof and leg were thrown over the one on the box.

Dark black horns sat atop the red-haired head. They were small, but if it weren't due to the ears that sat with them, one might not have noticed them.

A white sheet was draped over the figure in the back, giving the sculpture this feeling of just waking up in the morning, intertwined with your lover.

The focus point of the statue was how both of their lips were pressed together. They were both only focused on each other.

The statues felt so alive that both males looked as if they had been pulled from the past and placed here in the future.

There, on the little plaque by the statue, read:

Title: The Devil's Lover

Sculptor: Unknown

The Devil's Lover?

Such a unique title for the stone artwork.

They could always seem to have a small crowd around them. People are looking, pointing, and talking about it. Everyone had some sort of opinion on it.

The woman lets her eyes scan over the sculpture again, a bit longer this time, before moving away to the next exhibit in the museum.

“The angel doesn't look scared.” Another person would whisper as their eyes scanned over the painted stone.

From further in the crowd, you could hear someone scoff at the statue as they walked into the room. They took one glance at it as disgust was already filling their features.

“Why is this satanic thing even allowed here? I say get rid of it, for heaven's sake.” They growled. They rolled their eyes as they pushed through the crowd to try to get to the next room and away from the ‘satanic statue,’ as they had described it.

But the images of the two males, bodies intertwined with each other, wouldn’t be something that leaves the human mind for a while.

As the crowd eeps and flows, many people took the time to admire the sculpted men. Some questioned the nature of it, while others looked at the beauty of it. Overs grew excited by the details that were so expertly carved into stone, techniques that had only been seen in Greek statues.

A stranger turns to the person beside them. The person beside them had long blonde hair and pale white skin that was wrapped in a long black dress. She wore a pair of sunglasses even inside the building.

Anyone who looked at her for longer than a moment couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. But you wouldn’t be able to place your finger on it.

“And what about you? What do you think?” The first stranger asks the other.

The blonde woman turns her head to look at the other stranger. A small, pleasant hum forms on her lips as she looks at the human.

“What do I think?” The woman's voice was soft as she spoke. “Well, isn’t it obvious?” She questioned back. Her head turned to look at the sculpture once more. Something on her face shifts.

“They are simply in love. Who cares which one is the angel and which one is the devil?”

The other stranger's eyes widen a bit, and she turns to look back at the statue. She slowly tilts her head as her eyes wander over the two.

“Huh. I guess you are right.” But when she turns to look at the stranger, the spot is empty.

It seems like there was something that the blonde stranger had figured out or perhaps seen that had given her the conclusion that not many scholars had seen.

Many focused only on dating the statue, or on who the sculptor was, or on who they were, or on the meaning behind why the sculptor was made. And another 100 different things. So they seemed to miss the most obvious part of it all - the emotions that were held between the two of them.

How the darker painted figure was carefully holding the other, and even though his nails were sharp, they never dug into the other's body. The pose that they were in was intimate and comfortable. Like they had done this a hundred times to the point it was natural for them.

Something the people on earth never seem to grasp, and if they did, it was twisted.

Many scholars have sought to answer many of the questions they assumed the statue raised. One such way can be seen in the research paper “A Study In The Theological Idea of Intimacy by Nora Newman”:

“Over the years, new paintings and sculptures have been found, many of which historians had only heard of through historical documents. The latest finding of a painting based on the ancient sculpture “The Devil's Lover” has once again brought up many questions surrounding it.

This paper takes an analytic look over details of the statue regarding the question of which one is the devil and which one is the “lover” that is mentioned by the title “The Devil's Lover.”

Background information for this research paper came from “How The Fall Of God's Favourite Angel Happened” (Maple Luna, 2000), “Intimacy and Sexual Charges Imagery Throughout History” (Ezra Midnight, 2015), and “What Are Angels? A Book Focused On The Gender Of Heaven” (Noah Bean, 2019).

Materials that we used as a survey to ask many questions to as wide an audience as possible.

Our key finding of the study was that no one seems to agree on three major parts of the statue. Which are: which one is the devil, which one is the lover, and what exactly the statue is trying to convey. Even after all the years this statue has been on display, no one has a single good answer to any of their questions.”

Hell

The bar was loud. Drunks hung off each other. People were shoving their tongues down each other's throats in every corner of the place.

A TV was on, playing another segment of the everlasting news in Hell. There was always something new. Not surprising at all, right?

Most people would roll their eyes as they watched the TV from where they sat at the bar. Raising their drinks to their lips or talking to othersaround them. Some were even playing a game of pool.

Such as in the back of the bar, a mix of sinner and hellborn played a game of 8-ball. One of the sinners held their pool stick in their arm with one end touching the floor. His eyes scan over the others, watching as the red-haired female takes her shot.

One of the sinners flicks his cigarette with a deep sigh.

“There must be something better playing than this junk.” He groans, bringing his cigarette back up to his lips, eyes glancing up at the TV above the pool table.

The male hellborn, who stood a couple of steps back from the group scoffs but agreed there was probably something better playing.

“I heard they have a soul contract.” One of the female hellborns said. “And that Alastor got the better part of the deal.”

“I thought,” The red haired sinner says as she sits on the edge of the pool table, her eyes glancing over to the female sinner. “It was more so that Alastor was insanely protective of the king. To the point no one is allowed to touch him.” She says as she bats her eyes at the other hellborn, slightly leaning forward to the female.

The male hellborn rolled his eyes and took a step closer to the pool table as he lifted his pole. ready to have his turn.

“Those are just rumors Jessica.” He says, voice steady and low as he speaks. HIs focuse on the table and game.

Jessica rolls her eyes and crosses her arms, only to stop when a male sinner begins walking closer to the group. He raises his hands with a large smile.

“I got more beers!” He says. The small group of sinners and hellborns cheers. The sinner slides off the table as they all make their way over to the other guy to grab a beer.

As the group celebrates the newly acquired beers, a new patron sits down at the bar. He orders a drink and sits back, listening to the group of people beside him and what they are talking about.

At the end of the bar, three males sat, all with big glasses of beer in their hands. They seem to be talking about nothing and everything all at once.

“I’ll tell you this,” A rough voice spoke to his friends at the bar. “No one would willingly stay with that monster unless they are sleeping with them.” A rough voice says as he tilts back his bottle of beer.

“You can't be serious,” Another male who sat beside them said. His eyes flicker over to the TV screen as a blurry image of Alastor appears. “Them?” He stresses.

The first man looks at the TV and then back at his friend. He raises his shoulders before knocking back another beer.

“Weirder things have happened in hell.” He says.

The sound of glass clinking against each other could be heard, only drowned out by all the sinners talking.

A friendly hellborn leans herself into her friend. She was already drunk, and mostlikely wouldn’t be able to hold down another drink, but neither she nor her friend tried to leave the establishment.

“I heard Alastor's his executioner.” The overall drunk girl giggles as she leans further into her friend. Her voice was low as she glanced around the establishment they were hanging out in.

“What?” Her friend gasps. The single word was slightly slurred. She wasn’t too far behind her friend.

The first girl gasps as she sits up. Doing so slowly and sluggishly.

“You can’t be serious. You didn’t see the headlines?” She asks, suprised and begins to fumble with her phone.

It was the friend’s turn to lean into the first girl. Eyes watching as she has to try to open her phone multiple times before finally being able to. To which the drunk girl finds the article she was speaking about.

“See! Look.” The first girl says, handing her phone to the other girl, before going back to lean into her friend.

“Has Lucifer Morningstar Appointed A New Executioner?”

Rumour has it that Lucifer has appointed a new royal guard, and it is Alastor of all people. Speculation of their relation has been in the limelight for many days, ever since photos of Alastor leaving the royal estate spread online, all things to VoxTex.

This has brought on speculation that Alastor has been appointed as a royal guard. Or better known as ‘The Devil's Executioner’. Only one other person has ever held this title, but that hell-born hasn't been seen around hell in many years.

After the news leaked by Vox himself about how Lucifer is not able to hurt sinners, it makes more sense that he would have such royal guards and an executioner.

If it is true that Alastor is both Lucifer's executioner and royal guard, it begs the question of why.

In the past Lucifeer had a set of royal guards, which were mostly seen standing outside the estate, while keeping his executioner more of a secret.

[Attached photo]

Description: Two guards stand outside the Morningstar state. A small blonde child, who is most likely Charlie, is playing with her father.

In the past, it seems like Lucifer only used his executioner in other rings of hell. We do not have much information about what it is since we currently do not have reporters in said ring.

Knowing the history of Lucifer and his use of both his royal guards and past exucutioners, many speculations have cropped up. The first of many being that there is more to the story than just being an executioner. Such as the two of them having some sort of deal with each other.

Some say that Lucifer has some sort of blackmail over the overlord that is causing him to act as a ‘lap dog’ to the king of hell. If such rumours are true, whatever blackmail the king has over Alastor must be very daming. We are in hell afterall.

A crazier theory suspects that they are in a toxic relationship due to the numerous times the two have been seen arguing or seeming mad at each other. Many who have visited the Hotel have noted that it is a very regular scene to see Lucifer and Alastor fighting like some old married couple. To the point, they have said it becomes background music with how common it is.

With all these theories flying around, we have to ask: Is this just a coincidence? Or does Hell have something more to worry about now? Is Lucifer Morningstar planning something for everyone?

Trust us with your news.”

Their Eden

The door to his room pushes open, the door lightly creaking as it does. A blonde male steps into the room, shoulders held high with tension.

The red-haired male, relaxing on the couch, turns his head, taking in the straight face that the other was making.

Seems like the meeting didn't go as well as the blonde was hoping.

“Back already?” Alastor questions as he watched Lucifer walk into their shared room in the hotel. He closes his book and looks over to the blonde hared male as he shrugs off his coat.

Almost as soon as Alastor let those words slip out, Lucifer tilts his head back and groans.

“That bad?” He asked, amused by how irritated Lucifer looked from the meeting. Lucifer kicks off his shoes, showing off his hooves. Alastor takes a moment to glance at them.

“Worst!” Lucifer groans. He moves away from the door. As he passes Alastor, he makes sure to lean down to place a small kiss on his cheek before continuing into the room.

Even after so many times, the small action from the other male made Alastor dead hear flutter.

“Mammon is.... is..... is the worst!” Lucifer spats out as he takes his hat off and sets it on the dresser. He runs a hand through his hair. The once perfectly combed back hair became messed up.

“He was being so… greedy! With everything. When a plan was being talked about, he wanted to get in on it or make something so similar to it. Or…. or…” He tries to search for something but he stops and lets out a groan. He tugs slightly at his hair as he pulls his vest off and throws it onto their shared bed. He pulls his bow off and sets it beside his hat, while also unbuttoning the first button of his shirt.

“Well, he is the sin of greed,” Alastor says. Causing Lucifer to look over at him with a deadpanned look.

“Haha. So funny.” But Alastor noticed the way his shoulders sagged and relaxed just a bit. It was like no matter what Lucifer was feeling, somehow Alastor could always make Lucifer feel calmer, with that stupid smile and witty comments.

At the beginning of their relationship, it had taken a while for them to know what was too far and not push, expecially for Alastor. He wasn’t used to any of this and didn’t know when and where to stop. Before Lucifer, he had never experienced this softness that came with being in a relationship.

But they had learned and grown from it. Now, instead of that hard push or snapping word, it was like a small nudge of lightness to remind Lucifer that he wasn’t alone.

Well, for the most part. They were still Lucifer and Alastor, and they would always aggravate each other to no end.

Alastor lets a small smile form on his lips as he watches the dramatic little king that he had somehow fallen for.

“Come here,” Alastor says.

The blonde male moved closer to the couch before falling onto it. He leans into Alastor with a heavy sigh. The sinner wraps his hand around Lucifer's back. He leans down and presses a kiss into his cheek.

Alastor pulls Lucifer further onto his lap, where his head leans against his other shoulder. He watches as he takes a deep breath, trying to let his tension ease out of his body, by being surrounded by the comfort of Alastor’s heat and scent.

Alastor runs his thumb over the other male's hip, trying to remove some of the tension that had grown in his body. With his other hand, he moves it around Lucifer's shoulder to tilt his head to look at him.

“You did a good job today,” Alastor says softly before leaning in to kiss him.

It was a slow roll of lips against each other. Neither was trying to make the kiss more than it already was. But it was still passion-filled.

Lucifer raises his hand to dig it into Alastor’s hair as he pulls Alastor deeper into the kiss.

Alastor could feel the emotions leaking out of Lucifer as he did so.

They didn’t separate quickly. Instead, they stayed like this for a while as their breaths were taken from them.

“Better?” Alastor asks.

Lucifer turns his head with a cross of his arms. “Yeah.”

A laugh reverberates through Alastor as he leans back down to kiss Lucifer once more.
