it's a grave situation (the ways of skipping aino's classes)

Summary:

Illuga has run out of ideas of skipping Aino's classes since the last time Sir Flins had come and made the excuse of an 'emergency'. With no hope left, Flins surprisingly comes up with a plan that somehow works but doesn't.

Chapter Text

“And then you connect this wire over there… and you’re done!” Aino’s squeaky excited voice filled the Clink-Clank Workshop as Ineffa watched over the class. Illuga’s eyes nervously darted from Aino to Ineffa to the contraption to Aino to Ineffa to the–

“Did you get that, Mr Illuga?” Ineffa’s robotic voice questioned, catching Illuga off guard.

“Uh– yes! I did get that, I wrote it down!” Illuga’s hands are flat on his notebook, which Ineffa looks intently at.

“The book is upside down.”

As Ineffa makes that statement, Illuga feels his face run cold, “Uh yeah! Well–” Where in the kuuhenki was Flins? He promised to come with him. He looks at his book in horror as Ineffa takes it away, confiscating his method of notes.

“You’ll have to mentally take notes now!” Aino beams, her sweater paws on her hips in a proud stance.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go, what happened to the krumkake that Illuga planted in the house prior to the session? And the extra food he had in store to attract animals to distract Aino from teaching? And what about–

“I have already eliminated all ways that you have used to distract Aino. Mr Flins has already used these methods. And the one where Mr Flins comes and claims there was an emergency will not work anymore either.” Ineffa’s eyes glowed blue as she started analysing the threats to their beautiful lesson with Illuga.

‘But Flins told me he hid the krumkake in the cupboard, not the oven like I did too–’

“Furthermore, I have once again fed all the creatures in the area prior to this class, so no animals will come to distract this class.”

As those words left Ineffa’s mouth, a sudden brush against Illuga’s leg could be felt.

Meow.

A cat?

“A cat?” Aino and Ineffa both exclaimed at the same time, with varying degrees of excitement. Aino’s eyes lit up as she searched for the cat that was currently brushed up against Illuga’s leg. Ineffa’s eyes stopped glowing as she calculated what animals she could have left in the area. As Illuga looked down at the cat, the unusual but soft pretty purple fur was seen on the cat, and he immediately understood what was happening. But why was the cat brushing up so much against him?

“Wahhh, so cute!” Aino jumped towards the cat, completely forgetting about the session itself. Skipping over towards the cat, she pats it as Illuga is frozen in his spot. The cat looks towards Illuga, blinks and purrs at the same time.

“I– Uh–” Sir Flins what in Teyvat are you doing?

—

“So you asked Durin to ask the mage for a way to turn into a cat?”

“Young Master, it is not much of a big deal for a gentleman like myself. It was quite an interesting experience to say so myself. And it did the trick for Aino to take her attention off the class.”

“Whatever you say…”
