Hey guys! This chapter is just for information about the fic (since its gonna be longer) and its also partially for me so I don't forget my plot…lol.
I'm so sorry if its confusing at times! I have ADHD and I also have struggles with reading comprehension/getting my work down onto paper. I'm trying to improve this but please just bear with me and use this as a guide while you read!!!
i also plan on going back and making edits to already posted chapters…
Locations
Ground Town
The name of the town they all live in. It's based on the Ground in Gachiakuta with similar vibes and everything. It's a cozy, run down, but close-knit community where everyone knows each other. Known by others as either a junk yard or a prime area for the arts.
ACDA (Arkha Corvus Dance Academy)
Corvus' dance studio. He teaches the elder dancers in their primes (18-25 ish). Tamsy teaches the younger children (5-12). Gris teaches the teenagers (13-17). Too Lily? (this MAY change i actually haven't met her in the manga yet…) teaches the adults (30+).
-Its exterior is like a Paris hotel. Its a large building—the largest one in Ground Town—and most of it is crème white marble while half of the first floor is maroon red marble (look up Paris hotel I swear it makes sense).
-the stage for their ballet performances is in the dance studio on the third and fourth floors. It’s a nice theatre, average size since they don’t have a huge town to begin with. Its more so for their seasonal shows, if they have a large performance they’ll travel to a larger town nearby and dance at a bigger theatre.
-The interior is all mauve/dusty pink. Semiu sits at the front desk, to her left are stairs that lead up to Gris and Tamsy's classes. The bottom floor is entirely for Corvus.

Ground Barre
-Bar across the street from ACDA. Owned by Zodyl and Cthoni. The two bought the bar when Zodyl and Corvus were still close. The bar was going to get demolished because of health concerns and nobody cared, but Corvus convinced him to buy it and turn it into a cafe where the dancers could go after class. He helped them revamp it, and in the process of revamping it Enjin and Gris moved next door with their newly adopted daughter. Enjin became friends with Corvus and Cthoni, told them all about how they moved away because it sucked in their previous town. Cthoni told Enjin that the bar has a basement and if he wanted a studio space for hip hop—since he would talk about how he used to have a studio—they'd be happy to rent it to him. Jabber and Riyo would have playdates (theyre like 3-5) and the two became good friends.
-When the revamp was done, Zodyl and Corvus weren't as close but they didn't hate one another. Zodyl and Cthoni ended up turning the place into an actual bar since that fit the hip hop vibe better. To their surprise, the bar was a hit, especially with the ballerinas across the street. They started to promote Enjin's dance club as well, giving a free entry for a month offer if you buy 2 drinks at the bar. Business was booming, and alas came the name 'Ground Barre', named after their town, and also a pun for the renowned studio across the street.
UGTDC (Underground Town Dance Crew)
Enjin's studio. During the day he offers hip hop classes for all age groups! (toddlers, kids, juniors, teens, young adults, and older folks!) He handles the teens (14-18) and the older folks (30+), while his workers teach the other age groups. August (22) teaches the kids (6-10), Cthoni(29) teaches the juniors (10-14) , Mildretta(26) teaches the young adults(19-29), and Bro Santa(37) teaches the toddlers (2-5). Bro Santa also records dances in the centre studio at night! Enjin posts them to the UGTDC social media!
The studio does hip-hop performances at festivals a lot (which is why Enjin posts his dances online so that he can get festivals to reach out). Usually he rents a big ass party bus and drives the whole Akuta family + his dancers and stuff along to the festival.
-He's been doing hip hop since he was a kid, and he loved it dearly. He sees hip hop as a way to relax since the sport isnt all that serious. In his classes, he encourages people to be loose and experiment, and not be rigid. He truly loves his job!!
-He uses his eldest son, Zanka, as a way to promote not only his studio but also ACDA and the Ground Barre. He uses Zanka because hes a Nijiku and hes also a good visual (hes strinkingly goodlooking). Hes like a micro celebrity in the studio.
-At night (9:30-12:30), the studio becomes a nightclub basically. The bar upstairs supplies them with alcohol. It's literally just a safe nightclub. Its 18+ and its just for people to party and dance around. August works as the DJ at this time and he PARTAYSSS.
-Each day of the week has a different punny theme Enjin made for funsies.
-Monogamy Monday: Only couples (like actual couples) get their time to shine!
-Team Tuesday: Make a group of 4 or more and show off as group! Make the choreo yourself or Enjin will give you some.
-Wing-it Wednesday: Freestyle day! Almost every day is 'freestyle' but this day is pure improv! August changes the songs around to throw you off.
-Throw-It Thursday: This day is for like flips, tricks, jumps, twerking…etc…
-Freaky Friday: Change clothes with your dance partner and try and dance like eachother!
-Soloist Saturday: ONLY soloists in the centre on Saturdays!
-Sexy Sunday: The most sensual day of the week! In celebration of a new week, grab your dance partner and really show them how you feel…wink wink.
Main Characters:
Zanka Nijiku
-Age: 19
-Relations:
-Jabber: one sided rivalry. Zanka feels threatened by Jabber's talent which is why he rivals him. He wants to prove hes a good dancer to himself and to his family. He and Jabber first met when Zanka was 14 and Jabber was 15. Jabber is good friends with Riyo, so it was natural they also got introduced. They got along pretty well until Zanka started dancing at ACDA (about a year later). From that point on, the two had a ‘rivalry’.
-Enjin: His adoptive father. Enjin is there with him and uses him for social media promotion (for ACDA and UGTDC). They have a very close relationship. Enjin adopted him when he was 14.
-Riyo: His adoptive sister. They are best friends, Riyo is always with him during dance classes and is always his biggest supporter next to Enjin.
-His siblings: Does not speak to them at all. He wants to prove himself to them, but he also never wants to see them again. Enjin put a restraining order on them after they tried to take Zanka back home a few months after they disowned him legally. Enjin said he was legally his child now so fuck off.
-Tamsy: Strange relationship. Not exactly…bad, but Tamsy does not love Zanka. He much prefers his brother, Rudo.
-Most of his other relations are the same as canon. If not, I'll edit this.
Jabber Wonger
-Age: 20
-Address: 30 Raid St. Third floor.
-Relations:
-Zanka: One sided rivalry. Jabber actually really likes Zanka and thinks hes interesting. He doesn't really speak about how he actually feels cuz hes Jabber he misses he and zanka’s old friendship but he worries zanka doesn’t care.
-Cthoni: His big sister. He loves her very much (she loves him too) and she is his caretaker as well as Zodyl. She works online at home + at Ground Barre as a waitress. She pays for Jabber's dance and interests.
-Zodyl: His big brother. Jabber isn't intimidated by him and likes to get in his face cuz he finds it funny. Zodyl loves him but I fear he'll never show it. Works as the bartender at Ground Barre. He also owns it.
-Momoa: His best friend. The two have been tight since they were kids at the dance studio (where they met). They hang out very frequently and know everything about each other. She lets Jabber paint her nails and do her hair when they have sleepovers. She likes to tease him about Zanka and he teases her about Riyo.
-Most of his other relationships are also canon-typical! I'll add more later probably…
