Technology was quite new to Lyon when he first stepped foot within the Sanctum. The way machinery sprung to life with words appearing on screens, it was something the priest had never seen before.
So when Drifter was in a temperamental mood, he was questioning on why the screens and machinery were all going haywire. Strange was that this kept happening if the Void Demon was in a horrible mood or if he had high amounts of Void energy radiating off his body.
The priest was under the impression that it wasn't supposed to be happening, so one day he enquired to Loid about it.
"Monsieur Loid, a question if I may..?"
The butler looked up at the priest from whatever papers he was looking at, waiting for the other to continue onto his question.
"These.. Devices.. They are not supposed to break if a person is walking past, non?"
Loid looked confused, the man raising an eyebrow before answering. "No, they are not supposed to, no" There was a pause before the butler continued speaking. "What has spurred this question of yours?"
"Every time Drifter walks past a machine with a temperamental mood.. The machines start malfunctioning.. As if his very mood is affecting the components inside.." The priest stated, clueless to what could be causing these malfunctions to begin with.
This too confused the butler. What could cause the POM2 to start malfunctioning as much as it did when Drifter was nearby and in a bad mood? Loid had his hypothesis but he needed proof first..
"I might have an idea, but we will need to set a couple of things up.."
Lyon and Loid would be keeping an eye on Drifter and his behavior after the priest had posed the question to the butler. What was his hypothesis? The Void energy that surrounded and inhabited the Void Demon affected devices and possibly electromagnetic fields.
Loid remembered his Albrecht's many adventures and experimentations with the Void, all neatly tucked away in the libraries of the Sanctum. He wanted to see if his hypothesis was correct, so he set the priest off to investigate.

Lyon would find out why technology and machines didn't react well with Drifter when the two went to the Zariman. The colony ship was full with machines and devices, they were also in working condition thanks to the Holdfasts maintaining the ship.
The two of them had been patrolling the ship when Drifter void slung somewhere to get a better look. The lights suddenly flickered harshly. startling both of them. The lights took a moment before lighting up the room once again.
''.. Strange.." Drifter hummed, but shrugged it off. The Void Demon didn't seem to think much of it.
Lyon on the other hand saw everything malfunction the moment Drifter did his Void sling. Loid's hypothesis proving to be correct. What was the hypothesis? Void energy interfering with electromagnetic fields.
"Mon miracle, do you not find it strange that these events.. Happen..?" The priest questioned tentatively, a slight tilt of his head as he looked at his beloved.
".. Not really, no.." Drifter shrugged, seemingly indifferent to how strange the situation was. ".. It's been happening as long as I can remember.. I thought it was normal.."
The priest knew that Drifter's memories were a mess when it had come to the Zariman incident, along with getting infected by the Void from a young age. So it wasn't too surprising that the other thought this was 'normal'.
"My love, with all due respect.. It is not normal." Which earned the priest a shrug from the Void Demon with a non-committal hum.
The two of them continued their patrol, with various levels of strangeness happening. Lights flickering, doors not working or even just cold wind where Drifter had Void slung to. It reminded Lyon of ghosts..
The lights began to flicker, machines in the area began to malfunction heavily as a echoing wail resonated through the halls.
".. Void Angel.." Drifter noted with quiet aggression. That feral aggression made a nearby console malfunction until it fizzled loudly until a loud SNAP of electricity echoed throughout the room.
Lyon stepped closer, letting a hand rest on the Void Demon's shoulder. He knew the other's reaction was deeply rooted in the urge to protect both his home and the people he cared for, it mixed with the Void's most primal and violent urges.
"Ground yourself, my love.." He gently tightened his grip on his shoulder, before softening his hand, it was a way to ground Drifter's humanity back in the present instead of honing in on whatever was in his territory.
".. Ugh.." The Void Demon let out a grumble in response but the touch did it's job.
Lyon let go of Drifter's shoulder so the two of them could creep closer.
Screens continued to flicker, the speakers in the room fizzled into static with any announcement from the device being swallowed by the ocean of white noise and crackling electricity.
Suddenly..
The Void Angel snapped it's face towards their location, howling an eerie wail that would unnerve any normal individual.
".. Shit.. MOVE!" Drifter yelled as he pushed Lyon to the side as a red beam of Void energy was blasted into their vicinity.
Lyon fell to the floor with a thud. He quickly sat up, grabbing his speargun from where it had fallen beside him. Meanwhile Drifter sat perched from a railing, dodging lasers with his Void sling.
The Void Demon grit his teeth as he flung himself forward, feeling the way the Void sung through his mind and settled in his bones, a power surge to rise to a different form.
The Void plated his body and twisted his bones into something more angelic, yet some would say more devilish. The horns upon his head grew taller and his body began to reshape into the image of a Void Angel.
Drifter and the Void Angel clashed, long scythe arms slicing at one another whilst the Void Demon's other hand clawed into the other Void Angel, leaving deep marks into it's plating.
The two of them would tear into each other, phasing in and out of the Void whilst they did so. It didn't give Lyon any opportunity to open-fire on the hostile entity without accidently hitting Drifter in the process.
"Putain..!" Lyon swore under his breath as the two vanished yet again, their haunting wails still resonating within the halls of the colony ship.
The priest ran to different places, trying to track down where Drifter and the Void Angel had phased off to, until it got eerily quiet.. Only the sound of his heels quietly clicking filled the silence within the halls.
The halls lights suddenly fizzled out. Chills ran down his spine, the hairs on his body standing up straight from a cold draft that shouldn't even be possible.
There was a sudden cold breath on the back of his neck. Was this another Void spirit trying to mess with his perception of reality? He didn't want to turn around, to meet with soulless, empty eyes of the Void. Yet he had to.. Not being aware of your surroundings was death when it came to these haunted halls.
He slowly turned to see who was breathing onto his neck, his body tense and filled with dread.. Until.. He came face-to-face with the angelic visage of his beloved.
"Mon miracle.. Do not startle me so..!" The complaints died in his throat as annoyance turned into relief. "I am glad to see you safe and sound.."
He caressed the side of Drifter's cheek, the Void Demon was level with him so the priest could reach better.
Drifter had the behaviors and tendencies of a ghost, a void spirit that seemed to affect machines and his surroundings with a chilling air.
The Void Demon huffed, but he pressed his head into the priest's warm hands. He didn't get what Lyon meant by this not being 'normal' but it was normal to him so he didn't worry too much.
"Let us go home.. I have a report to file with Monsieur Loid.." Lyon voice turned gentle as he murmured. ''Then, we will have all the time in the world to cuddle.."
Drifter seemed to be thrilled by that statement. He picked up the priest with his clawed hand before carrying the other extraction.
These were just oddities of his beloved, the Void Demon he loved so dearly yet whose eccentrics and quirks tended to make their days quite chaotic.
This was just another to put on the pile, he wouldn't have it any other way.
