To copy someone else’s bookmark: Really interesting take...given that I think the majority of the Metros issues with Shane wasn't JUST homophobia but that they believed he was "the woman" and "submissive/subservient" to a rival none of them liked, the idea that they thought he was the "dominant man" in the relationship reestablishes him as a "man" in their eyes. Super interesting way to explore homophobia and gendered assumptions, especially in a sport like hockey -
