Everything was nothing and the only thing pushing me was revenge. I trained day to night without rest, hoping I could one day avenge my clan and restore it. But how could I do that if I keep getting distracted by a dumb yellow ball called Naruto who has little to no talent and just screams all the time?
Then came that soft light inside the endless, dark abyss. The first time I touched it, a warm sensation would take ahold of my body. It was supposed to feel nice, maybe relieve me of the coldness that’s rushing through my body but being warm felt like a foreign concept that I refused to relearn.
That light was too stubborn. It kept crawling back to me, trying to open my eyes. I didn’t need to open my eyes, all I needed was revenge. But then, I began to question myself about this whole revenge thing. Leaving behind the light—him—felt impossible. It’s like, what would his life be if he didn’t have that light guiding him?

Like always, we went at it again and again. Naruto had some kind of limitless stamina the more I watched him but nothing compares to that passion of his. It burned brightly, threatening to swallow anyone. That’s what made him better than anyone else, he was actually interesting.
But I would rather die than admit that to his face. Well, more like it would kill me. Just being around him makes me somewhat nervous—which is stupid, Naruto wasn’t intimidating and I definitely know what intimidating people looked like.
I stared at the blonde-haired boy that laid on the floor breathless, “I told you that you’re gonna lose.”
“Whatever, next time I’ll definitely defeat you! Just wait!” Naruto screamed, jumping back to his feet.
“Right, says the one who can’t walk on water”
“Hey! I can walk on water! Just watch me!” Naruto grabbed my arm and dragged me to a nearby river, “I managed to walk up that tree so this is no problem at all, believe it!”
I watched as Naruto took a confident step on the water—SPLASH.
I let a quick, quiet laugh slip from my mouth with my lips curled faintly, “idiot.”
Naruto popped out from the water with an angry expression and yelled, “Arghh!!! Sasuke just you wait! I’ll prove to you that I’m not an idiot and that I’m stronger than you, believe it!”
Naruto stepped out from the water, shivering. His bright clothes darken a bit from the water with droplets falling from his clothes. I couldn’t help but feel teensy bit bad. I walked up to Naruto, I turned my head to the side with a faint blush on my cheeks, “I can… I can give you some extra clothes—if you want.”
My voice came out a bit softer and probably more awkward than the usual confidence I use whenever I speak. It’s like when it comes to Naruto, I somehow tend to get nervous and a bit sweaty. It was stupid. I didn’t wanna feel like this considering i definitely had better things to worry about like avenging the clan..
“REALLY??!!!? Wow sasuke! You’ve been so kind lately, it’s kinda weird but better than your usual depressed demeanour you had”
“Shut up, stupid.”

I grabbed a darkish blue shirt and some black shorts then threw it over to the soaking wet blonde.
“Make sure you return it, Naruto”
“Will do, don’t worry about that! Wow, I know I said this earlier but you’re so unusually nice“
“Shut up, idiot.” I sighed, “go change in the bathroom and when you’re done, u better leave.”

It was an hour after Naruto left and these feelings won’t let go. I should be getting stronger, that was my first priority but these stupid sensations are getting in the way of my goals! I need to avenge my clan but I also… I also want Naruto by my side. It just feels wrong without him there.
“Stupid.” I muttered, stepping onto the balcony. The skies already turned black and the moon shone confidently above.
A black shadow leaped through the night but that bright blonde hair always makes it easier to identify him. Naruto eventually landed on his balcony with that idiotic grin of his.
“hey, sasuke! After training tomorrow we should eat some ramen together—wait, we won’t have a mission tomorrow right?”
I rolled my eyes, “why do you want to eat ramen with me anyways?”
“So friends can’t eat ramen together anymore?” Naruto pouted.
“Ugh whatever, fine.. go away, I’m gonna sleep now”
