Gaz nudges Soap with his elbow, almost spilling his drink. “Mate, I’m telling you — I lost my virginity at seventeen. Summer hols, in Croydon, behind a fucking Aldi.”
Soap barks a laugh. “Christ. Behind an Aldi? That’s tragic, mate.”
Gaz shrugs, grinning. “Romantic, actually. Stars were out.”
“You were probably lookin’ at a flickering streetlamp and a bin fire.”
Simon snorts, nearly choking on his drink.
Soap turns to him, mock-serious. “What about you, Ghost? When’d you lose it?”
Half a joke, but not quite. The kind of thing you say when you’re loose enough to ask, but not drunk enough to forget the answer might come with weight.
Simon freezes for half a second — barely noticeable, but there.
He sets his pint down with quiet precision, eyes locked on the condensation sliding down the glass. His voice, when it comes, is rough. Measured. Almost clinical.
“Seven.”
The table goes dead silent.

“Food?” Ghost questions.
“Can’t keep it down.” Soap mumbles as he lights another cigarette.
Ghost, seemingly deliberating, hums before speaking.
Careful to not be accusing, “why?”
“That’s a loaded question...” Soap trails off.
Ghost patiently waits for him to continue. Soap swallows thickly.
“Guess I’m just... grasping for control. Can’t control my fuckin life, but I can control my weight, can control what I digest.” His voice is shaky, and he’s carefully avoiding eye contact.

Soap blinks up at Ghost through half-lidded eyes. There’s something warm in his chest at the words—not quite comfort, not quite affection, but something close.
"Aye?" he whispers.
Ghost nods slightly, watching the way the dim light catches in Soap’s tired blue eyes. He taps ash from his cigarette, considering. "Yeah. The way you think—it's like... a car crash I can't look away from. Somethin' wrecked, somethin' that shouldn't still be movin'—but it does. And it’s..." He trails off, expression turning fond but teasing. "It’s kinda stunning, in a fucked-up way."
