[ART] jonathan sims has a very bad awful terrible day

Summary:

What it says on the tin. Various fear entities hunt local Archivist for sport. Tags will update as necessary!

(In art for season 4, local Archivist also hurts himself. Art will be more trauma-focused, so please mind the tags.)

Notes:

These artworks started as me privately mourning (and venting through) all the awful things Jon goes through. But it's grown into a whole series chronicling many of the gut-wrenching moments in the show.

I love Jon with my entire being (I haven't found anyone who captured my life traumas in quite the same way), and I have found some good friends in this fandom who feel just as deeply about this wet cat archivist as me. Feel free to yell at me about the themes, pains, and joys in this show. 🥹

Chapter 1: fears nouveau

Chapter Text

Digital painting of Jonathan Sims, head archivist of the Magnus Institute, surrounded by an art nouveau-style halo with various circles depicting the 15 fears in lime green. Jon is a dark-skinned man with a Roman nose, light facial hair, bright big green eyes, and medium-short brown hair streaked in gray. His expression is haunted and sad, his shirt is open to reveal skin full of scars and a bleeding slash across his neck. The circles contain these images, from left to right encircling his head: lighthouse, coffin wrapped in chains, fangs, fire, bloody knife, black sun, human heart, human skull, spider and web, dinosaur skull, a tiny figure standing against clouds, hive and wasp, a cassette with the tape forming the shape of an eye, an anglerfish dangling a theater mask in front of it with the words “can I have a cigarette” around it, and a door with psychedelic swirls emerging from it. The corners of the art are decorated with eyes and cassette tape shapes.
