Chapter Text
Izuku stirred in his bed. He woke up to a warm sunrise light leaking through his curtains and into his room. He stilled when he realized his Alpha was right beside him.
The light from the sunrise was making Katsuki's hair look golden. Like a Greek god. Izuku stared in awe at his mate and shuffled closer into his chest. They had patrol later so a lazy morning was going to happen today.
There was a low grumble from Katsuki. He fluttered his eyes open. Izuku looked up and their eyes met. The sparkle in Izuku's eyes doubled and he grinned widely, his freckles getting smothered in his cheeks.
"Morning Izuku." Katsuki leaned in and bit Izuku's cheek playfully. Izuku let out a gentle chuckle and placed his hand on his husband's nape. He grabbed onto some hair and pulled Katsuki's head away lightly. He stretched out a bit and gave his mate a little peck on the mouth.
"Morning Kacchan." Izuku whispered, as if hiding from something.
Katsuki moved over to Izuku's scent gland and started licking it, making Izuku whine and submit even more by tilting his head back.
Katsuki stopped halfway through it all of a sudden, which made Izuku whimper at the emptiness.
"Kacchan… Why did you stop?" Izuku looked at Katsuki searching for answers and his face morphed into confusion at Katsuki's expression.
"What happened?" Izuku concernedly asked, removing his hand from his husband's nape and pushing himself slowly to sit up.
"Izuku…" Katsuki whispered, much to Izuku's surprise. He pushed himself to sit up, too, and frowned at Izuku. Katsuki tried to think of the best way to say it.
"What?" Izuku asked, alarmed at the change of smell in his lover's scent.
"You smell almost… milky." Katsuki scowled at the thought and thought for the reason of it. The deeper he thought the further he went from the actual reason, until something came up.
"Oh. Oh." Katsuki realized the answer had been right there, waiting for them to notice. Izuku's heat had just passed. They spent it together, wrapped in each other's limbs, trying to ease through the pain and need. Izuku's tear ducts probably hated him from the amount of crying he did then.
Izuku's eyes searched Katsuki's unreadable expression for any answer to his statement. He then tried to think for an answer himself, but wasn't able to find it. Izuku did, however, feel Katsuki's gaze on him at one point and let his eyes wander towards the Alpha's ones.
"Your heat." Katsuki drawled, making the air still in anticipation of Izuku's reaction.
"Oh God…" Izuku sighed out, reaching with both hands for his hair and lightly tugging on it. Katsuki noticed the gesture and immediately went to gently slap Izuku's hands away from his scalp.
The possibility that Izuku was pregnant was high, super high. All of the risks that came with pregnancy scurried their way into Izuku's mind and he started spiraling. The overthinking was cut off by a gentle voice.
"If you're pregnant, nothing will change between us. We've spoken about pups before, right? It will change our lives completely but I'll love you the same." Katsuki promised as he pulled Izuku over and wrapped his arms around him.
Izuku melted and a little sniffle broke out of him. The emotional moment was taking a toll on his sensitivity. He felt vulnerable in the hands of his lover, but he also felt safe. Izuku knew he chose his soulmate. Their soul bond was strong enough to hold them together, even in the toughest moments.
"We should… Store. We should go to the store." Izuku nodded to himself, when he suggested that.
He shuffled out off bed quickly and started getting ready. He immediately went to brush his teeth, Katsuki following him. They did their skincare together, Izuku having to look for a sanitary wipe when Katsuki nicked himself while shaving. He noted down that he felt nauseous at some point but didn't point it out.
They got dressed, having to go with more unrecognizable clothing due to the fans and reporters waiting to snatch up any moment to drown them with questions. Look, they like talking to their fans and all but right now at this moment, no thank you.
"Hey, your hair is sticking out a bit." Izuku went to fix Katsuki's Edgeshot themed beanie so that his blond hair is fully tucked in. Izuku has no emotional energy to get swarmed by fans today, children or not.
"Okay, ready?" Izuku stepped back so that he could look over his mate once again. The mask covered Katsuki's scar and his red eyes might be the only giveaway but they aren't going to waste contacts for a short trip to the store.
"Yeah. Izuku, come here." Katsuki smiled gently at Izuku. Izuku stepped closer to Katsuki and smiled warmly back at him. Katsuki leaned in to scent Izuku quickly and pulled back.
"This should cover up the milky undertone." Katsuki stated, when he noticed the confused head tilt he got from Izuku. Izuku sighed heavily and and started walking towards their entrance door. He stopped to wait for Katsuki, and then they both stepped out.
"I'm so nervous." Izuku said, shaking his hands and closing his eyes. Katsuki found his way to Izuku's lower back, helping Izuku reach their car without bumping into anything.
"Yeah, I'll be honest with you. I'm scared, too." Katsuki said the last part quite lower but Izuku still picked up on it. He smiled and looked up to his favorite ruby red eyes.
They entered their car, Izuku going into the passenger seat since he's too nervous to drive. His hands were trembling so bad he dropped the key to the car 5 times on the way to it.
"We're going to be fine." Katsuki said, sounding more like he's trying to ground and convince himself than his panicking mate. Izuku's scent turned sour at one point but Katsuki was quick to make light talk, knowing Izuku's interests and wanting to bring his anxiety down.
Izuku was looking at his scars on his hands, when he felt the car turn off. He looked up and noticed they were parked in front of the store.
"Oh, we're here." Izuku whimpered anxiously.
"Let's go, my love."
Katsuki pulled his mask down and kissed Izuku on his temple. He opened his door and stepped outside. Katsuki walked over to Izuku's side and opened the door for him. Izuku stepped out slowly and followed Katsuki on autopilot. All of his anxiety skyrocketed by ten percent and Izuku felt faint.
They entered the store and went over to the aisle for personal care, which has the pregnancy tests.
"Which one should we get?" Izuku asked urgently, pacing around in front of all of the different brands pregnancy tests.
"Maybe just get one of each? Just to be sure." Katsuki replied, reaching to take a pregnancy test out of the shelf.
"Oh, oh yeah. Let's do that." Izuku said breathlessly. He started grabbing one of each out of the shelf.
"Izuku, I think this'll be enough. Don't ya?" Katsuki asked, looking at his mate's face. Izuku nodded quickly and turned on his heel to walk towards the cashier, Katsuki following after him.
After they checked out, Izuku trailed after Katsuki to their car. He felt even more faint than when they entered and his nausea had worsened. The drive was quick but for Izuku it was painfully long. He tried to keep the bile from rising more than it already had.
The car parked in front of their house. Katsuki turned towards Izuku
"Hey Izuku. Oh, you okay?" Katsuki worriedly asked Izuku, reaching to cup Izuku's cheek and then swiftly removing the mask from each ear. He frowned at the change of smell in Izuku's scent and the green undertone on his face.
"Ah… I don't feel good."
Izuku gagged, clasping a hand over his mouth and almost breaking the car door open. He sprang out of his seat and ran to the nearest bush, hunching over and preparing himself to empty the contents of his stomach. Izuku gagged once again and started retching violently. He hasn't eaten breakfast yet so it was all stomach acid.
He felt Katsuki before he heard him. The warm hand smoothing circles on his back as he heaved. When the sudden nausea passed, Izuku slightly straightened up and spat a bit of saliva to remove the horrible taste in his mouth.
"Hey..easy." Katsuki said gently, snaking an arm around Izuku's waist. He slowly helped him straighten up fully and led him to their house.
The walk to the bathroom wasn't long since they have one on the first floor. Izuku sat down on the tiled floor to wait for Katsuki to come back with the bag.
When Katsuki came back, the bathroom smelled of an anxious and distressed Omega. He crouched down in front of Izuku. He reached into the bag and pulled a test out. Izuku eyed it anxiously.
"I promise you it'll be okay." Katsuki whispered to Izuku. Izuku let out a content purr and grabbed the test out of Katsuki's hand.
Katsuki was kicked out of the bathroom for the first part of the process, but he didn't protest.
Izuku called Katsuki back in. When he opened the door, he saw that Izuku had already dipped the test in the paper cup half full of urine. He moved swiftly as he reached for Izuku's lower back to offer his support to his mate. Izuku just smiled and looked at the processing test.
Izuku turned the test around and when the 3 minutes passed, he looked at Katsuki expectantly. Katsuki reluctantly nodded and reached to grab the test face down. He took a deep breath and flipped it over.
The one word that changed their lives.
Pregnant.
Izuku wasn't wearing his glasses so he had to lean over and squint to see. When he did read what that plastic stick said, he immediately gasped and clasped both of his scarred hands over his mouth. Tears welled in his eyes with emotion and he looked up to see Katsuki's reaction, expecting it to be shocked. What he didn't expect was for Katsuki to already be crying. Full blown tears were pouring down his eyes. Izuku felt the stream of salty tears down his own cheeks as well.
Katsuki grinned at Izuku with all of his teeth, that goofy smile that made Izuku's heart beat faster and swell with love.
"I'm going to be a father." Katsuki announced.
"You are. We're having a pup!" Izuku cried out and smiled warmly. He felt strong arms wrap around his waist and being lifted off of the ground. Katsuki spun Izuku around, chuckling softly at Izuku's giggles.
Izuku did tell Katsuki to put him down when he started to feel nauseous again. Katsuki felt guilty for making his mate nauseous after that horrible session so he scented him thoroughly to apologize.
They shared their intimate moments that day, calling off of work to celebrate this new chapter of their lives.
Izuku was teaching tomorrow but he didn't want to leave his students. Izuku loved all of his students. They were perfect pups and they do have fun together. It'll be awkward when he starts showing but they'll get past it. He hopes.
Izuku and Katsuki decided on, after Izuku kicked Katsuki out of his nest, that Izuku will continue to work on the field until his second trimester, maybe even half way through. His teaching job will be continued longer on, though, because Izuku can't leave Aizawa alone in this.
He was Aizawa's pup so it'll be nice to tell him as soon as possible. After Inko kicked him out of their house because of a misunderstanding, Izuku stayed at the Bakugo residence for a while. Katsuki, being the best Alpha he is, went to find an adult trustworthy enough to help Izuku and maybe even take him in. Aizawa was there the moment he learned about Izuku's situation. He stood behind him at any moment. When he officially adopted Izuku, he also revealed that he's mated to Hizashi Yamada, also known as Present Mic and has two other adopted children, Shinsou Hitoshi, who moved to Izuku and Katsuki’s class in their second year, and Eri, the little girl who Izuku saved back in his first year and the same little girl that saved Izuku’s life back during the war.
Izuku knew that keeping this a secret will be hard, especially knowing how observant their pack is. Their pack is quite literally their whole class. Izuku felt warmth settle into his chest when thinking about them.
They searched for what felt for hours to find a good obstetrician who specializes in male pregnancies and keeps information in the clinic only. They need to be careful with the information so that villains don't take Izuku's vulnerability granted. After some time searching, They found a beta obstetrician who specialized with hero pregnancies, Dr. Ito. She was known in their hero circles and even has helped Tamaki and Mirio with their pregnancy a couple years ago. Booking a visit with her, Izuku was done with making decisions for the day.
They did however decide to go to bed early, Izuku nestled nicely in Katsuki's arms.
