dance with me

Summary:

Blue gets some advice after drooling over Buck, and then he's dragged out to dance by the man himself… hope shines as bright as the sun when he's being grinned at by Evan Buckley.

Notes:

Day 71 brings some more BuckxBlue, enjoys~

Please do NOT copy and paste the fic in your bookmark notes. It is already short and doing that gives away the whole story. It's fine with the long ones but not the drabbles. ~ Thank you BigChanDaddyLover26!

Work Text:

Blue watches Buck on the bull, and his heart is in his throat.

"You better go for it, Cowboy, or I might," says Taylor with a soft smile as she nudges him in the ribs.

His best friend, and the woman who is single yet again after a bad relationship that ended just after he joined the station.

"Why don't you go for it?" asks Blue as he looks at her with a soft smile.

She deserves someone good, and Buck would definitely be good.

"Nah, I made a pact with Roxie that I would never try long-distance again," snorts Taylor as she shakes her head, nudging his side as Buck falls off the bull. "You should shoot your shot."

"You definitely should," a deep voice echoes beside Blue, and he jumps in surprise to see Eddie standing next to him, beer in hand. "Trust me, you'd score."

"Wait, I thought you two had some weird thing happening," Blue's eyes narrow on Eddie because he might be a little oblivious, but he's not blind.

"We have a conversation that needs to happen. But while I'm demi, he and I know what we want. I have someone back in Texas, and he has someone here," replies Eddie with a soft smile that Blue recognizes.

It's love.

Eddie is in love with the person he has, but he and Buck are platonic soulmates.

"You ask Texas out yet?" asks Taylor as she pipes up, leaning curiously around Blue.

"Not yet, but I'm going to when I get back. Buck's helped me figure out exactly what I want to say, as long as I don't stumble and stutter my way into action instead," replies Eddie as he leans forward to meet her eye.

"This looks serious, and we're supposed to be having fun," huffs Buck as he bounces over to them.

"Blue wants to dance, Buck, take him out there while I tell Taylor all about Austin?" offers Eddie brightly, and Blue turns to him with wide eyes.

But Buck easily says, "Oh, definitely, c'mon Nashville, let's dance! Taylor, help him, please! I'm dying from hearing those thoughts he can't unscramble."

"It's not that bad!" huffs Eddie as Buck takes Blue's wrist and starts tugging him away.

"Liar!" hollers Buck as they reach the dance floor where Ryan is dancing with his wife and Don has tugged Blythe in as well. "You probably didn't wanna dance, but I wanted to escape that. So, would you like to dance with me, Nashville?"

"I'd love to," replies Blue as he slides his hands on Buck's shoulders, stepping forward to thread his fingers together against the back of his neck.

Blue's not sure how the night will end, but as big hands slide around to his lower back, he hopes it will end with a number or in a bed. Their foreheads press together, noses nudging, and then Buck kisses him gently.

Yeah Blue's not letting Buck go tonight, unless that's what he wants.
