seven minutes, not quite enough

Summary:

Shuichi drunkenly agrees to a game of seven minutes in heaven with his friends. He didn't expect to end up in the closet with his frenemy/crush Kokichi.

Notes:

Found this while looking through my old oneshots and thought it was kinda cute/funny :S

Work Text:

“I’m assuming you all know the rules, but I'll explain briefly. I will spin the bottle twice and the two it lands on have to go in the closet together for 7 minutes. No exceptions! You can do whatever you want to, but you HAVE to kiss at least!”

“Well we can’t really force everyone to kiss, can we?”

“Sure we can. What’s the point of playing if no one's doing anything?”

Shuichi didn’t want to kiss just anyone. But the alcohol had made him very tipsy and easily convinced, which is why he had joined his friends in a stupid game of seven minutes in heaven. Truthfully, he had never played it before, and was a bit nervous about being crammed into a closet with someone random. He watched the bottle spin several times before landing on Kaede next to him. She didn’t seem nervous at all and laughed when it landed on Miu next. Shuichi felt relieved that he didn't have to go first, at least.

The game kept going in the background while everyone else kept drinking and chatting in their circle on the floor. After several rounds he almost forgot that they were playing. Suddenly his conversation was interrupted and he realized that the tip of the bottle was pointed in his direction. He looked up at who had spun it and was surprised to see Kokichi looking straight at him.

“Are you surprised, Shuichi? I totally rigged the game so we could go together.”

Shuichi thought about it. Is it really possible to rig “spin the bottle”?

“No, you didn’t”

“You’re right, I didn’t. Just got lucky.”

Kokichi stood up and walked over to the closet. Shuichi felt nervous, but followed after. The others didn’t seem to be paying much attention to them.
The closet was big, but Shuichi felt almost claustrophobic when closing the door behind him. It was dark and he was in here alone, with Kokichi. They were friends, kind of, but Shuichi felt tense being so close to him.

“So what do you wanna do, Shuichi?”

“I don’t know.. We could just talk, I guess.”

“Are you disappointed you ended up in here with me?

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it that way.”

Shuichi really wasn’t disappointed, he probably would have answered the same way no matter who he was in here with. And Kokichi was probably just messing with him, but still, he didn’t want to be rude.

“It’s okay, I get it. I can’t promise I'm as good of a kisser as Kaede is. We could still kiss if we get bored in here, though. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to be doing anyway? Or what do you have in mind?”

Shuichi hesitated for a moment, but Kokichi was right, that was actually the point of the game. He had known what he was getting into when he agreed to play.

“Okay, let’s kiss”

Kokichi looked surprised, like he wasn’t sure whether he had heard him right or not. The dark closet didn’t make it easy to see, but it almost looked like his cheeks were turning pink. Maybe it was just the alcohol.

“We don’t have to do that, I was just messing with you. We can just tell the others that we did.”

Shuichi felt his face heating up. He felt embarrassed to be turned down, even though it wasn’t his suggestion to begin with. Did he really expect Kokichi to just kiss him? His thoughts felt hazy in his drunken state, and he felt like he was speaking before his brain understood his own words.

“What if I want to?”

He could feel his face burning after hearing his own words, and he almost couldn’t believe that those words were said by his own voice. Still he looked up towards Kokichi, anxious to hear his response. Kokichi was always hard to read, but his expression now was something entirely new. He looked almost dumbfounded. How stupid was he to say something like that, what response did he really think he would be getting?

“Nevermind.”

Shuichi wanted to take his words back. He wanted to go out of the closet and drink until he threw up and forgot all about this whole incident. He reached his hand out to open the door, but then Kokichi grabbed his hand before he got the chance to. He leaned in closer, scouting his reaction to make sure he wasn’t getting uncomfortable. But Shuichi wasn’t uncomfortable. He felt anticipation. His breath was heavy and he wondered if Kokichi was feeling as nervous as him. The warmth in his cheeks was burning and his hand felt clammy in Kokichi’s.
Kokichi leaned in closer, looking up at him with his dark eyes. He tried to make out all the details of his face in the dark. He looked so handsome when he was serious. Shuichi closed the distance between them, and kissed him so gently he could barely feel it. Kokichi’s kiss was so soft and careful it made his heart ache. He didn’t wait another moment before leaning in again, harder. The air in the closet felt hot, like he could barely breathe in there. Kokichi leaned into the kiss and grabbed Shuichi by the waist. Their kiss turned sloppy, and they felt increasingly desperate for more of each other. Like this was a deep craving they had kept hidden for too long, and now that they had a taste of each other they couldn’t get enough.

Kokichi pushed him against the wall behind him, and he let out a gasp at the feeling of being pushed around by someone smaller than him. It was surprisingly sexy. He could feel himself getting hard, but could bring himself to care anymore. Kokichi kissed his jawline and continued tracing kisses down his neck.

“Oh my god, Shuichi, is that a gun in your pocket?”

Kokicki grabbed him through his jeans and he let out a moan at the feeling. He had never been touched like this before, and he almost felt dizzy at the thought of Kokichi being his first.

A knock on the closet door interrupted them rudely.

“Hey guys, it’s been seven minutes. You can come out now.”

Shuichi held his breath. He had completely forgotten the game they were playing, and now he was in too deep.

Kokichi grabbed his hand again.

“Let’s continue this somewhere else."
