Chapter Text
Wind whipped around Spiders face as he stared at the spot Quaritch had just fallen from.
The wimd blew his hair into his face as he realised just how badly that situation couldve gone.
His head was still reeling from the fact that Miles fucking Quaritch had saved his sorry ass from falling to his doom. Well, not without Jakes help.
Spider snapped out of his trance as he realised 'oh shit Jake'. The man in question was attempting to push himself upright, he managed into a crouch before his wounded leg gave up and he fell sideways with a pained grunt.
Not surprising, really.
As if getting shot with a flaming arrow through his leg, climbing tons, fighting a man that (at that time) had way more strength than him, Jake had also had to pull both Spider and Quaritch up from where they were dangling with only three weakened limbs.
To say Spider was worried was an understatement.
Jake looked so close to passing out, Spider was terified he would fall off the side of the floating rock, his eyelids drooped worryingly and, having seemed to have given up standing, was swaying slightly from his half seated position.
The tension was broken as Neytiri jumped down from her higher perch on the rocks with a worried "Ma Jake." As she landed next to him. Lo'ak and Kiri soon followed after landing their Ikran on a nearby ledge. Breathing a sigh of relife , Spider realised that Tuk was with kiri and as safe as she could be.
He smiled weakly at her, blood visibal between his teeth.
"Hey baby."
Neytiri let out a small sob and hugged him close, jake gasped slightly as the sudden movement jostled his leg.
"Ma jake, are you hurt?" She said, looking him up amd down, eyes finally resting at the hole in his leg.
She gasped softly.
"It'll be fine.. we just- need to get.. back to..." his words were sluring and his head drooped sideways.
"We need to move," Neytiri called out and everyone jumped into action. Spider rushed forward, attempting to help by supporting Jakes forearm as he heaved himself up. Now standing at his full height, if slightly stooped, he went visibly pale.
Lo'ak was at his side in a second, taking over Spiders best attempt at support, Spider, however, didnt let go, he wanted to be of at least some help.
Neytiri called her Ikran over and they attempted to guide jake to sit on the creature.
Jake, however, did not comply.
He took a step forward and stumbled.
"I'll- I'll be.. fine- I just need- need to... rest- for a bit.." His words were even more slurred now and for a moment all that could be heard was the roaring if the magnetic field next to them.
Then, Jake tipped sideways and collapsed fully on Neytiri, Spider could feel the muscles in his forearm, that were tense previously, go completely slack, like a puppet with its strings cut.
Spider yelped and tried to pull Jake off along with Lo'ak but Neytiri clearly didnt need any help, she heaved jakes limp body off of her before calling over her Ikran. She got on, hauling Jake up after her, he was sat awkwardly in front of her, torso being held up with her avalible hand.
There was a pause.
Then, Neytiri shifted and Jakes fell forwrd so he was slumped over the poor creatures head. Muttering some very colourfull Na'vi curses, she pulled him upright.
"This won't work, I need to be in front."
She glanced down at spider.
"Hold him in place, child, while I move in front." The Ikrans head lowered and she slid off, holding Jake in place with a hand. Lo'ak piped up, "Uh, do you want me to ride with you? No offense spider, but I may be a little stronger that you." Spider allowed himself a small smile and got out of the way so Lo'ak could take his place.
Lo'ak got on behind his dad and tried his best to wrap his arms around Jakes torso. Neytiri got back on, on the front this time.
They sat there for a moment.
Then, they took off, Lo'ak hooked his arms around Jakes limp body and grabbed Neytiris waist from her seat at the front, sort of like a blue, makeshift seatbelt.
This was gonna be an uncomfortable flight
