Months of pure bliss is something Dean never could have imagined for himself - not since Lisa and Ben. Between good hunts and his ongoing relationship with Castiel, life was good. Nothing was going to take it from him. Merrily he and Cas are falling out of line. Heaven can suck it, this was too good to have taken away.
Dean would fall anywhere with Cas - he’s by his side. Even now, swinging in the rain and humming melodies, they’re not going anywhere until they freeze.
What was a simple walk in the darkened sky quickly turned to rain, but Dean and Cas couldn’t bring themselves to care. Dean was humming a song, walking and holding Cas’s hand. He then pulls Cas closer and twirls him with a smile, making the angel look at him in confusion. “What are you doing, Dean?” The said angel inquires curiously.
In response, the hunter shrugs. “Am I not allowed to twirl you, princess?” teased Dean, his playful smirk adorning his features. To further tease his lover, Dean twirls Cas again with a chuckle. Cas just goes with it, mostly because he’s unsure of what to really do.
“Man, I could do this forever,” Dean murmurs, his smile growing. He’s not afraid anymore. He’s not afraid of what people think about him or Cas anymore. Dean is happy.
Forever is a long time. But, he wouldn’t mind spending it by Cas’s side.
Cas turns his head and peers at Dean with a light expression. The rain makes it look like Dean is glowing - it was beautifully blinding. He observes the hunter with a small smile of his own. Carefully, they placed their destiny. Cas had taken Dean’s heart and set it free when they decided to be lovers. Every word Dean writes or sings is so warm to him. Whenever Cas is away from Dean, he is torn - so torn - to be right where he is.
Cas isn’t afraid anymore. Neither Heaven nor Hell can tear him away from something so beautiful.
“I could do this forever as well,” muttered Castiel. Dean stops in his tracks, making Cas stop too. Dean leans in, placing a light kiss to Cas’s lips as the rain bears down on them.
Forever is a long time. But, he wouldn’t mind spending it by Dean’s side.
The couple break off the kiss and stare lovingly into each other’s eyes - smiling. Dean needs to be told everyday he gets to wake up to that smile. He wouldn’t mind it at all.
