Summary
After a two-year biomedical internship abroad, Izuku is returning to his home town for senior year. This year, he decided, would prioritize relationships lost in the distance.
Though, he can't help but think of someone specific. Katsuki Bakugo, his childhood friend whose only interests seem to be chemistry, track, and getting angry. Whose disconnect, for whatever reason, weighs on Izuku.
Among other things, Izuku's senior year was going well, until it wasn't.
All it took was a single moment.
“We have to find a shelter." Izuku ignored the pit building in his stomach.
Katsuki replied with an aggressive whisper. “Are you fucking insane? We need to get the hell out of here.”
Izuku's eyebrows furrowed. “Like out of this store?”
“Like out of civilization Izuku. This fucking thing spreads person to person. All we know is neither of us have it yet.”
"But, where would we even go?"
Katsuki paused, conflicted, but confident in what he’d say next.
“The forest.”
Izuku's senior year would look nothing like he could ever imagine. Everything was in ruins. His life, his relationships. Well, except one.
At least he wouldn't be alone.
