HELLO FANDOM

THIS IS MY FIRST FIC ON THIS FANDOM

I just found KKM and absolutely fell in love with Yuuram but I wish Yuuri would treat Wolf better cuz ma boy is nothing but faithful, protective, and loyal to him. And he absolutely loves Yuuri.

Anyways I don't own the anime or characters

This is just a fanwork

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Wolfram had it.

He had enough.

There was a limit he could bear all of this.

All these feelings.

Being the one who cared, being the one who initiated things to do together, being the one who got jealous when Yuuri was flirting with other people, being the one who always worried, being the one who always carried the relationship.

But Yuuri didn’t seem to care. He was in his own world. Yuuri didn’t seem to care how much Wolfram missed him when he wasn’t there. He didn’t think of them as a pair, a couple, despite being the one to propose. Even though Wolfram hated him at first, he started liking him. He stayed when Yuuri asked him to drop the proposal because he liked him.

He loved Yuuri.

Wasn’t he pretty enough? Was he too rude? Was he a bad companion? A bad fiancé?

Or was it because he was a boy?

Obviously it was.

“We both are dudes, this can’t happen!”

“I’d prefer a girl over a guy”

“You can drop my proposal, I don’t care about my pride”

But being the lovestruck idiot he was, Wolfram stayed. And now he was dealing with the consequences of his actions.

Yuuri didn’t care about him.

Not even a bit.

Now he was hurt, he was suffering, he was heartbroken.

Wolfram decided to stop everything. Stop caring, stop initiating couple activities which didn’t interest Yuuri, stop hanging around much, and he would stop wearing those sexy nighties which were custom made especially for him, which he thought would attract Yuuri. He would literally stop sleeping on the same bed.

For his own good.

There were a lot of people who wanted him, and were attracted to him. Later, he would find a perfect match, marry them and would live happily ever after.

But Yuuri…

Love of his life…

The blonde boy gritted his teeth. Why was everything so frustrating?

“Bastard!”

Wolfram smashed his pillow to the ground. Good thing there wasn’t anything breakable nearby him. He grabbed his fluffy hair and kicked his feet. Yuuri hadn't come to bed yet.

“Is everything okay there?” He heard a knock at the door and Conrard’s gentle voice.

“Go away!” Wolfram yelled.

He climbed down from the bed and put on a white night robe over his pink nighties. Then he took the pillow and took aggressive steps towards the door.

As soon as he reached the door and opened it, Yuuri appeared. Wolfram saw red. He wanted to punch him. All that trouble because of this adorable, dark haired motherfucker.

Wolfram groaned angrily and walked past Yuuri, hitting him by the shoulder.

“Oh, Wolfram-”

But not to lie, he hesitated for a moment before leaving Yuuri alone.

**********

Yuuri was relieved that Wolfram left the bedroom all for himself to have. Finally he could sleep peacefully in the king sized bed alone. No more suffocating warmth, no need to be squeezed by sleepy cuddles and snuggles. He wondered what was with Wolfram but this might be another anger episode of his.

Even though he was tired to the core, the sleep didn’t come to him. He tossed and turned all night. He kind of missed Wolfram’s warm presence next to him. That might be the reason.

But it shouldn’t be as Yuuri thought further. He had always tried to make Wolfram leave for his own bedroom. He wasn’t a kid and he didn’t need Wolfram to take care of him.

What the hell…

Why was he thinking about Wolfram?

The dude was one of a kind. He always tried to insert himself in whatever Yuuri’s business. He was annoying at times but Yuuri tolerated him well, didn’t he?

Yuuri closed his eyes and started counting one to hundred. It had worked in the past when he found it difficult to sleep.

Ninety eight

Ninety nine

Hundred

Nothing worked. He stepped down from the bed and went to the room’s balcony. As he looked down, he could see Wolfram in the field, attacking a scarecrow which was made for sword practice. He was still in his nighties and that baffled Yuuri. Wolf was never the person to expose himself in those dresses to other people. His movements were intense and Yuuri wondered what got him so grumpy in the middle of the night. Maybe he wasn’t angry and just wanted to practice.

So Wolfram also couldn’t sleep?

Maybe…

The next day, Yuuri woke up after what felt like one minute of sleep. He prepared himself, yawned as he dragged his feet towards the dining hall.

“Good morning,” he said and everyone greeted him back.

His eyes met Wolfram’s. Wolfram was the first one to look away, instead of intensely staring into him like usual.

“Hey, how you doing?” He tried to start a conversation with Wolf.

“Good”

Well, that was how Wolfram usually was, but for whatever reason it felt like a distant answer. Was he still angry? Yuuri didn’t even know why he was overthinking this. He decided to catch Wolf for a talk after breakfast.

“Wolfram?”

“Mm?”

Wolfram was walking away after breakfast, instead of standing outside the room where Yuuri studied with Günter, until he was finished.

“Erm, you aren’t coming with us?” Yuuri wasn’t sure what to ask.

“For?”

“I- I’m going to study. I’m wondering if you wanna stay there with me,” Yuuri awkwardly chuckled.

“For what purpose actually?”

Yuuri went speechless.

Wolfram’s expressions were cold. It was the moment Yuuri realised how tender Wolf’s emerald eyes used to be, while pretending to be tough. That tenderness his eyes were laced with usually had gone for good. What had happened? What did he do to anger him?

“I- I uh, I mean if you want to-”

“I don’t want to,” Wolfram spat and Yuuri was taken aback, “I have duties to get done,” Wolfram then mumbled, looking away.

“Alright, see ya”

With a curt nod, Wolfram disappeared with quick steps.

**********

Wolfram closed the door to his chambers and sighed. He was barely holding it together. He badly wanted to be with Yuuri. He wanted to go when Yuuri asked him to be present there when he studied. But he could slowly distance himself from Yuuri. Yuuri would want that too. One day he would have to watch Yuuri getting married to a beautiful princess.

He let tears fall down from his eyes. This had come too far and it was his fault for letting his emotions take over him all these years. Stupid of him to think that Yuuri would eventually like him.

Wolfram silently cried to his pillow for a while. Then he realised he didn’t have time to cry until his heart melted before anybody realising that he was missing. He went to the bathroom and looked at himself from the mirror.

Damn, I look like shit…

He washed his face, fixed his hair and waited until his nose dried. He should leave for sword practice because recently he started feeling that he wasn’t good enough. Wolfram didn’t want to feel inferior to anyone.

**********

It was another celebration Yuuri hated where he had to fake a smile and talk to all the people he met. It was exhausting and he just wanted to go to bed.

One woman went out of her way and took his hand. Yuuri jolted and expected Wolfram to appear and smack their hands apart. Sometimes Wolfram could be too much about Yuuri hanging out with other people. He looked around and spotted Wolf. But this was different. Nor did Wolfram make a fuss about it nor did he ask Yuuri about it or lecture him about dignity and virtue right there. Maybe he didn’t see that woman taking Yuuri’s hand into hers.

Instead he did something which took Yuuri by surprise.

He turned his head when he heard some women squealing. In front of his very own eyes, Wolfram asked a noble lady’s hand for a dance and other women there went crazy about it. No surprise, Wolfram was very attractive and people liked him.

The surprise was that Wolf himself asked another lady to dance instead of asking Yuuri as he was supposed to do. They were engaged to each other after all. Even though Yuuri wasn’t much serious about it, Wolf was very serious about it.

“Surprised?”

Yuuri jumped when somebody talked to him. It was Conrard and Yuuri hadn’t even noticed Conrard approaching him.

“Ah, yeah. You know how he is… that’s why I’m wondering. He seemed to be upset with me but I don’t know what I did. Usually he’s upfront about it but now he barely talks to me.”

“Did you try to talk to him about it? That you feel like he’s upset with you?”

“Isn’t it obvious that he’s upset with me? I mean, he would never dance with another person because he’s loyal to me. His words, not mine.”

“Are you loyal to him?”

That question took Yuuri off guard.

“Me? I- uh, I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it.”

“Do you think of Wolfram as a romantic partner?”

“I don’t know,” Yuuri lowered his voice, deep in thought. Wolfram was one of his best friends indeed. But as a romantic partner? They were both men and would that be okay?

“I think he has realised that too.”

“Realised what?”

“Your uncertainty. He has always loved you, openly. It has been years now.”

“Yeah?”

“Maybe he has realised that waiting for you anymore is futile.”

“Oh…”

“Talk to him, Yuuri. Settle this between you two. Or else, both of you will suffer.”

“What? Why would I suffer? The whole engagement was an accident!”

“Just talk to him,” Conrad sighed.

Yuuri watched Wolfram talking and smiling while dancing with the woman. He looked happy. Yuuri kept staring. He got this urge to go and grab him away from that girl. Wolfram always danced with him. It didn’t sit right with him when Wolf danced with someone else. Yuuri would admit to himself that he himself was kind of a jerk to think like that. Wolfram had the right to dance with whoever he needed.

**********

Wolfram caught up to him in the corridor when the party was over and he was walking to his chambers.

“Um, Yuuri. Sorry I didn’t tell you beforehand, but I’m not your fiancé anymore,” Wolfram confessed suddenly.

Wait, what did Wolfram mean by he wasn’t his fiancé anymore?

He should be happy. Shouldn’t he? Finally, Wolfram was out of this whole ‘fiancé’ thing.

But why did he feel his heart tighten inside his ribcage?

“Wolfram…”

“I take no questions, your majesty,” Wolfram bowed and walked past him.

Your majesty…

Wolfram would never call me that…

Why?

Why this change?

I can’t bear it…

Yuuri badly wanted to hear Wolfram call him by his name. He didn’t need to hear royal bullcrap. Not from Wolfram.

“Hey!” Yuuri quickly reached and grabbed Wolfram by the elbow.

“What the heck is wrong with you, Wolfram?!”

“What do you mean?” Wolfram was calm and that pissed off Yuuri.

“All this strange behaviour. You avoid me and all. And now you are saying you are not my fiancé anymore? What did I do this time?”

“Is it wrong to drop the proposal? When all you’ve done these past years was rejecting me and pushing me away? I think I deserve better. I don’t want to keep up with this lie anymore. Stupid of me for staying and believing that you’d like me someday. Chasing after your love is like chasing the clouds.”

Yuuri felt this sudden embarrassment and shame. Wolfram sure did love him, Yuuri knew that. But did Yuuri ever try to sort out his feelings towards Wolfram? He did not. He was used to Wolfram being clingy, jealous, and possessive.

“Wolfram I- I don’t want you to drop the proposal.”

“Why? You enjoy the attention I give you, don’t you?”

Wolfram huffed sarcastically. But Yuuri could see the utter sadness in his eyes.

“I mean, you are not wrong for not sharing the same feelings,” Wolfram mumbled and took a deep breath to calm himself down. “So please don’t make this difficult for me. I’m letting you go and you will be free from this bond we’ve created by accident.”

Yuuri didn’t know what to say to him. He was stuck. He should be rest assured because Wolfram said that it wasn’t his fault for not loving him back. He knew it as well but Yuuri couldn’t handle this version of Wolfram.

The way he suddenly started acting all mature…

He silently watched as Wolfram bowed to him and walked away.

**********

It had been a week since Wolfram broke off their engagement. Yuuri was often sleepless at night, tossing and turning around, and waking up immediately as soon as his eyes closed. It was torture.

But it seemed like life had become totally opposite for Wolfram after that. Life seemed to be treating him better than ever.

Yuuri often saw Wolfram hand in hand with other girls or boys. He was often smiling and Yuuri wondered if this was his true form. Being a playboy. Different partner for a different day. Who wouldn’t fall for that angelic face and godsent body.

Yuuri began to realise how committed Wolfram was towards him. It wasn’t just because he was the demon king but because Wolf loved him. Yuuri’s chest squeezed every time he saw Wolfram in the royal garden, snuggling close to some random person.

“Ahem”

Günter cleared his throat as Yuuri started dozing off in the middle of the message he was reading.

“Oh, sorry, Günter. I barely slept last night.”

“You barely sleep every night, my lord. I’m worried for your wellbeing.”

“I’m fine, what were you saying by the way?”

“A marriage proposal, from nobleman Grant’s daughter.”

“I’m not interested in a marriage, Günter. Not right now.”

“That’s not all, my lord. Since everyone got to know you and Prince Wolfram broke off your engagement, marriage proposals had been flooding to the palace.”

“I didn’t break it off, it was Wolfram who did,” Yuuri blurted.

“Does this mean your majesty wants to continue it? No way that brat disobeyed your-”

“I need to talk to him, Günter. Please excuse me.”

Yuuri got out of the study room but he didn’t know what he should say to Wolfram. Say what? I’m sorry I don’t like you hanging out with other people? That was a jerk move but Yuuri wanted to do it.

Maybe it wasn’t the right time. He watched Wolfram hanging on to a big buff man in the royal garden from his balcony. He was smiling and looked happy until he looked up and their eyes met. Wolfram quickly looked away, his smile faltering a little bit. Did Yuuri make him that unhappy?

Yuuri put on his pajamas and looked at himself from the mirror. Did he look good? He still looked tired but talking to Wolfram was a must. He didn’t want to lose him. Not like this. He wouldn’t mind marrying Wolfram, adopting kids with him, sleeping together and raising a family with him.

I think I am in love with Wolf…

I need to win him back…

With that determination he knocked at Wolfram's bedroom door.

A few seconds passed and the door cracked open. The blonde head was surprised to see the demon king at his door.

“Your majesty…”

Damn…

Wolfram looked angelic and sexy at the same time in his negligees. Yuuri missed watching him in his pretty sleep, his pretty body and soft curves see through in them.

Yuuri noticed something else too. Wolfram’s eyes. They looked exhausted. Yuuri felt bad for bothering him at this time but he had to do something to protect their relationship. He wished he wasn't too late and Wolfram's love towards him still hadn't faded away.

“Wolf, I need to talk to you. May I come in?”

Yuuri softly asked while expecting Wolf to shut the door in his face. But Wolfram opened the door and let him in.

Yuuri slowly closed the door behind them. His heart was beating so fast. He couldn’t figure out if it was because of nervousness or because Wolfram was so beautiful. Both could be.

“What do you want to talk about, your majesty”

“First, stop calling me your majesty, call me by my name! Like how it used to be.”

“Alright, Yuuri.”

Wolfram didn’t seem to be wanting to talk to him and it hurt Yuuri. He had his arms bound across his chest and was drowsing off a little. An absolute angel.

“Please don’t abandon me, Wolf. I need you in my life.”

“I didn’t abandon you, Yuuri.”

“I mean, I need you, as a partner. Your feelings aren’t unrequited.”

Wolfram’s eyes went wide.

“What are you saying?”

“I- I’m in love with you, Wolfram. Sorry for not realising it soon. I just can’t bear it when you hang around with other people like that. I need you all to myself. You are mine, Wolf, please… Please come back to me.”

Wolfram’s arms fell to his sides. He speechlessly stared at Yuuri, who was a blushing mess.

“Please don’t say it’s too late.”

“Go to sleep Yuuri, you are spitting nonsense. I’m tired as well.”

Yuuri rushed and grabbed Wolfram by the wrist. He pulled Wolf towards himself.

“I- I can’t sleep without you beside me…”

Yuuri was blushing the whole time, his hand grip tight on Wolfram’s wrist as if he feared Wolfram would disappear forever if he let go of him. He didn’t need that. Yuuri needed him in his life more than anyone or anything. He loved this world, he loved his kingdom, he loved his people, he loved Wolfram.

“Me neither, Yuuri. I desperately needed to come to you but I had to stop myself. I didn’t want to suffer anymore, but I cried all night, everyday,” there were tears in Wolfram’s emerald eyes. It was a new sight to Yuuri. His heart ached so much when he heard Wolfram’s confession.

“Please come back to me, Wolf. I can’t bear this anymore. You belong with me, no one else.”

Yuuri snaked his arm around the other boy’s perfectly chiseled figure and pulled him closer. Then he slowly leaned, as Wolfram watched him with widened eyes.

Wolf didn’t protest when Yuuri’s lips pressed onto his. He joined him and they kissed slowly, pouring the tender and intense love they had towards each other into it.

“I missed you, Wolf,” Yuuri mumbled against his lips, wiping the hot tears running down Wolf’s smooth cheeks.

“I missed you too, wimp.”

“I love you, more than anyone in this world,” he intertwined his fingers with Wolf’s and kissed his lips once again. He could taste the salt of Wolf’s tears.

“I love you too, I always did”

Waking up snuggling with Yuuri felt great as always. But this time, it was extra special. Because he knew that Yuuri loved him too. No attempts of pushing him away in sleep. Yuuri was still asleep, lightly snoring, his arm around Wolfram’s waist.

Wolfram didn’t want to wake up. He closed his eyes and buried his face into Yuuri’s chest. His handsome fiancé.

**********

Yuuri woke up to Conrard knocking at Wolfram’s bedroom door.

“Your majesty, time to wake up.”

“Ah…”

Surprisingly, Wolfram was still asleep in his embrace. Yuuri kissed his forehead.

“Wolf, wake up,” Wolfram stirred in sleep, mumbling something incoherent.

“I’m surprised he’s still asleep.”

Conrad was smiling at them.

Settle this between you two. Or else, both of you will suffer…

How did Conrad recognize his feelings before him?

Was it so obvious that he loved Wolfram?
