The sun shone inside beautifully as Derek rushed to get ready for training, he didn’t get to be late or else it would be his head.
The knight hurriedly put on his armor and grabbed his bag before sprinting to the training grounds.
Derek barely got there on time, but was pulled aside by a squire.
”Excuse me, my liege, I’ve been sent to give you orders from the King,” The squire informed, handing him a signed demand, “fore the Jade Kingdom sent their prince to court a fine wife and for a potential alliance,”
”So basically their prince is here to get a girlfriend?” Derek recounted bluntly, reading the demand.
The squire nodded, simply stating, “yes, but since the king has noticed your late arrivals, he’s requested you to guide the prince or else it’ll be—“
”An execution, yes, yes, I know, I shall be there to assist, where shall I go to start the task?”
”room 276, floor 3, shall I walk you there?”
Derek nodded and went into the castle alongside them. The castle was covered in golden silks and white as a highlight, the white was usually a slight pink due to how unsparing the lords were.

Avery flopped onto the bed that the servants had made for him earlier, he sighed softly, he knew how screwed he was.
The prince never really cared much for a wife, he enjoyed combat and action, the thrill of standing victorious over those who failed to triumph him! No woman had ever stood out to him, they were people just like the rest.
What was there to swoon over?
Avery wondered what marriage was even like, they had heard about how unfair it was for females in this region, it was one of the reasons that the Copper Kingdom and Jade Kingdom kept going to war.
The prince wondered if maybe they just haven’t found the right person, or maybe they don’t need a wife!
Three soft taps at the door, Avery jumped up to go get the door, opening it to see a knight and a squire.
”Your majesty, this is Sir Derek, he shall be accompanying you in the castle during your stay,” the squire bowed, introducing Der.
”A pleasure to meet you, Sir Derek,” Avery greeted, feeling his face burn in embarrassment as he realized he was staring straight at him.
Derek simply gave a thumbs up which made Avery smile, the squire glanced between the two and mumbled something about needing to go.
Avery felt one thought surface over his earlier doubts, ‘if all knights look like this then I could stay here for longer than mother demanded’, his face burning as he realized what he just thought, for goodness’s sake he was a prince! How vulgar.
