“Bro, can you just admit that I’m stronger than you?” A confident, boastful voice rang out in the still air. Flamefrags stood atop the crater, his stance steady but relaxed, in his mind the battle already won.
Well, like, it has.
“Yeah, you can be the strongest.”
Wemmbu leaned against the stone, his hands tacky, and shaking, his hair wet and sticky but his mouth? His smirk stayed in place as he spoke, his lips not even quivering a little.
“That’s it?”
“Yeah.”
“So you don’t care anymore?”
“Or did you just finally realise that it’s not close and that you don’t stand a chance—“
“I guess not, I guess you’re the strongest.”
— —— ————————————— —— —
Wemmbu stares at the sky, his heart finally feeling at peace. He tosses his second mace, he doesn’t need it anymore anyway he thought to himself
Now he can go to the End to see Egg in peace. No more fighting, no more trouble, just peac—
“Hey buddy.”
“You seem a little worse for wear over there, Wemmbu.”
A lime green figure darted past Wemmbu down into the crater, swiftly picking up the discarded mace. LettuceK.
“We destroyed your army.”
Lettuce chuckles as he pulled up on the stone opposite of Wemmbu, his red fur rustling as his dusted dirt off his clothes. Wemmbu stares warily, his head throbbing from the previous fight, he still hasn’t really gotten over that fact that Flame betrayed him just to prove he’s stronger but…
Lettuce straightened up, his hand welding the mace the Wemmbu had dropped, he raised the weapon threateningly toward Wemmbu; “Looking at your pitiful state, I don’t think I need an army to subdue you anyway.”
And without warning, Lettuce jumps at him, his arm bringing the mace down upon Wemmbu with a force of a ton.

When Wemmbu awoke, he was already restrained in a cell. A dirty, grimy, melancholy kinda cell. His hands were cuffed to this back and as he shifted, trying-and failing-to get into a more comfortable position, his head throbbed. To him, it felt like needles stabbing at his head, his vision wavered before steadying. Needless to say, he probably got a concussion. Damn.
Where am I? What am I—oh yeah. LettuceK. Riiight.
Inventory check. Nothing. Like I mean absolutely nothing. Like it might as well be coated in cobwebs. Of course Letty took everything away. Wouldn’t want a fugitive getting out would he?
I hope Egg’s doing ok. Minutetech, just keep Eggchan safe a little longer please. Please…
And then he blacked out again.
*****
The next time he awoke was to someone slapping him.
Wemmbu’s eyes flew straight open, anger flaring, about to scream, to unleash a nuke shot straight at the offender.
But alas, he was face to face with Lettuce.
Oh fuck.
“Hey Wemmbu,” Lettuce smiles, his lips curving in a veeerry sardonic manner. He grasped Wemmbu’s hair by its roots, a painful act. The once bouncy lilac hair had split ends. Once nicely brushed, now a mess. Wemmbu jerked up, wincing, biting his lower lip to prevent himself from letting a sharp gasp escape his mouth. His eyes teared up as the pain took hold.
“How has my little prisoner been while I was gone?”
Sharp, mocking words.
I’m not your prisoner. And I’m certainly not little.
“Go to Hell.”
Wemmbu spits, the words vile and filled with venom. A brief flash of annoyance and surprise appeared on Lettuce’s face (HAH! Wemmbu thought.) before being wiped away into an almost maddeningly calm facade. He pulled back, straightening his clothes before shooting a disgusted look and slamming the steel cell door shut.
Wemmbu winced at the loud clang.
— —— ————————————— —— —
Wemmbu has been in that cell for…days? Weeks? He couldn’t even tell anymore. It was just him alone in a room, called out for a routine checks, food from the cafeteria, forced manual labour, sleep. The monotonous routine was boring him. Wake up, roll call, food, labour, sleep. Over and over again.
So he decided to make a break for it.
— —— ————————————— —— —
When he felt like no one was watching, he used the pickaxe that was given to him for labour to break the iron doors painstakingly. It was long and slow but eventually just as he was about to make a run for it—
“Wemmbu, Wemmbu, Wemmbu. What do you think you’re doing, Wemmbu?”
That sickening voice. The lilt at the end. The mocking tone. Wemmbu’s entire body screamed to run, to make a break for it—escape was just so close—well, he did listen to his gut. The moment the voice reached his ear, he was bounding straight towards the Enderchest. His elytra and firework rockets were in there. If he could just—
A painful, gut-wrenching blow from the back.
Oh yeah, that’s why they say don’t turn your backs on your enemies. Wemmbu thought as he fell, his hand reaching out for the last ditch-effort.
I’m sorry Egg, I won’t be visiting you for a while.
— —— ————————————— —— —
“Wemmbu, I didn’t have too many guards stationed there because I really thought you’d be sensible and just stay in the prison for you entire sentencing.” Lettuce says while sitting on a chair in front of a shackled Wemmbu, “I suppose I was wrong.”
The way Lettuce was speaking…it was like he was speaking to a toddler who did wrong. That infuriated Wemmbu greatly.
“Yes, seems like it backfired really well didn’t it?” Wemmbu snarled. Slap.
“Shut up.”
“What did I do—?” Slap.
“Stop—!” Slap.
“Br—!” Slap.
“If you speak, I’ll slap you. It’s only right. We’ll keep repeating this till you remember.”
“…”
Lettuce finally stands up and brushes his clothes straight. (he’s seems really particular about his clothes omd >:[)
“Currently, I’ve sent soldiers to the end to claim it from Minutetech. Your friend Eggchan is there too right?”
He smiles. The kind of smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. The kind where you know—oh! This person’s up to no good! Oh! And what did I say?
“Would you rather cooperate and not have Egg captured and kill or the other way around? Keep resisting and have your only friend leave you?”
“…”
“Exactly.”
Lettuce turns around and leaves, the lights turning off, the room plunging into darkness, leaving Wemmbu with only himself and his worries and fears.
