I have become something new or I am turning into you?

Summary:

“You know I don’t have a master anymore,” Tyler suddenly brought up his eyes intently looking at her. “The position is wide open.”

“Tempting,” Wednesday admitted. “But given how my last attempt at that went, I don't think it would be wise to try again.”

Tyler drooped and Wednesday cruelfully left him like that for a few seconds before she continued. “I guess we’ll just have to make you your own master so this whole situation won’t happen again.”

Tyler’s head popped up so fast he got whiplash. “Really? Is that possible?”

Wednesday gave him a look that could strip paint. “I’m in my best friend's body and I just transformed into a werewolf Tyler. I don’t think anything is truly impossible at this point.”

“And you’ll help me? Really?,” Tyler was beaming so brightly at her it caused her to squint.

Wednesday rolled her eyes at his enthusiasm but the look in them was soft. “Someone has got to make sure you do this the proper way and luckily for you I just finished studying on how to successfully become a Hyde’s master.”

Notes:

I wrote this around 1 AM so I have no clue if any of this makes any sense. Genuinely words aren’t words anymore so who knows if this is coherent.

With that said hope you enjoy the story!

Work Text:

The ritual Wednesday had attempted to figure out how to save Enid had turned out to be a disaster of epic proportions. Truly it couldn’t have gone worse.

In a turn of events that Wednesday could have never in her life foreseen Enid’s conscience was now in her body and hers was in Enid’s.

A classic so-called body swap.

Wednesday, who was currently trapped in Enid’s body, was woefully unprepared for how different everything was.

Logically she knew all about werewolves and knew they had superior senses compared to other outcast types but she wasn’t anticipating just how strong they were.

Everything was enhanced and Wednesday did mean everything.

From her olfactory and auditory senses, to her thoughts, and even her emotions. Wednesday had to resist the urge to cover her ears and eyes as she tried to adjust.

She had no clue how Enid functioned daily when even just looking at Enid’s bright belongings made her nauseous. Enid’s music that she loved to blast on the daily genuinely made her feel like her ears were going to bleed.

Truly this was a fitting punishment for botching the ritual.

Being in this body was having a never ending sensory overload and it physically hurt to process anything. Wednesday wasn’t built to withstand this kind of input even mentally.

A raven psychic when compared to an alpha werewolf were two completely different things after all.

Wednesday barely knew how to function as herself in her own body with her own powers; she had no clue how to function in Enid’s body.

It didn’t help that Wednesday inevitably lost control of her anger which she usually had an iron grip on. Normally that would have been fine if she hadn't been forced into the body of a teenage alpha werewolf.

Wednesday, as she had constantly been reminded since she was shoved into Enid, had been forced to realize that no matter how smart she was, she couldn’t predict everything.

Just like she couldn’t have guessed just how much a werewolf transformation had hurt. The answer was it was excruciatingly painful, especially for someone who has never shifted before.

Yet another thing Wednesday hadn’t been prepared for.

“Wednesday,” Enid called from her body, her typically blank face now animated and full of worry and concern. “Wednesday you need to calm down or you’ll wolf out!”

Wednesday panted as she clawed at the ground. Every single emotion she felt was so sharp and consuming that she couldn’t push them down or ignore them like she usually did. She gritted her teeth as her bones began to snap and twist.

“Too late,” Wednesday had gasped from Enid’s body. “It’s too late, you need to get out of here. Now.”

Seeing Enid, or herself if she was being technical, and Agnes hesitate made Wednesday snap at them right as she curled inwards with a pained exhale. “Get out! Now!”

Luckily her outward display of pain finally got through to them and they began to slow back away. Still that was better than nothing. Wednesday stumbled to her feet as her body started to reassemble itself. She couldn’t control her noises of agony.

It was a torture of the highest form to feel this body betray her this way.

From the doorway Enid hesitated, her eyes flicking back to the exit and then back to Wednesday clearly unsure what to do. Agnes wrung her hands by Enid’s side, equally lost.

“Wedsnesday!,” Enid called helplessly and right before she could no doubt do something stupid she was grabbed and thrown to the side.

Not as harshly as she could have been, all things considered.

Agnes smartly took a step back further away from the door before she could receive similar treatment from the widely known homicidal Hyde that appeared. Although she doubted she’d be treated as kindly as Enid was.

It had seemed almost protective the way Tyler moved “Wednesday” out of the way of danger.

Tyler gave “Wednesday” a once over and even sniffed her before he gave her a visibly confused and distrustful look because things weren’t adding up for him.

For one Wednesday didn’t smell like herself and he would know her scent anywhere. Her face was unusually expressive too. In the past Tyler had to work hard to even get her to visibly emote as she usually displayed her emotions mainly through her eyes.

Now though her emotions were just freely on her face. It was honestly so unsettling to see Wednesdays showing her feelings so freely.

Wednesday was moving differently too. Her gait was off and reaction time was significantly slowed. For some reason she didn’t react to his presence right away as she normally would have.

The Wednesday he knew would have dodged him and even stabbed him for good measure with a quip ready on her tongue. She wouldn’t have let him get away with what he just did.

It will be a cold day in hell the day when Wednesday Addams would willingly let him manhandle her.

She was even wearing color and he knew damn well she was allergic to that. Tyler vividly remembered making black and white popcorn buckets so that she could safely touch them.

Even after Wednesday woke up from her coma Tyler had painstakingly made sure every single flower he picked out was completely withered and colorless for her hospital bouquet.

The final nail in the coffin and what really got his attention though was what “Wednesday” had just yelled.

“Enid?,” Tyler called out on a hunch and his eyes went wide open in shock at being proven right when “Wednesday’s” head automatically looked at him at the sound of her name. “What the hell is going on?”

“That’s none of your business,” Enid snapped defensively, her face twisting up before she shook her head aggressively. “We don’t have time for this. Wednesday’s going to transform and she’s never done this before! I don’t know how well she’ll handle it!”

Enid then puffed up which frankly looked ridiculous in Wednesday’s body given how short she was and gave her best attempt at a glare. “So you need to get out of here so we can deal with this!”

Tyler snarled, flashing his amber eyes at her causing Enid to automatically take a step back and Agnes to instinctually turn invisible. He looked back into the room where “Enid’s” body just finished the beginning stage of transformation.

The sickening sound of cracking bones had sped up and the barely audible noises of Wednesday in pain increased so Tyler knew that the transformation would be complete soon for better or for worse.

Tyler's jaw was clenched tightly as he looked back and forth between where apparently the real Wednesday was and where the real Enid was.

In what had to be a world record he quickly came to terms with whatever insanity was going on.

Somehow Wednesday always gets herself into the most insane situations whenever they’re apart. Tyler doesn’t even know why he’s surprised at this point.

An honest to god body swap.

Sure why not.

This might as well happen.

“I’ll deal with this. You both stay put,” Tyler ordered them harshly as he turned to enter the room where Wednesday was in.

“I’m not leaving you with her! Who knows what you’ll do!,” Enid protested before she shrunk backwards when Tyler turned towards her.

Tyler looked like he was barely holding it together as he
bared his inhumanly sharp teeth at her. He flashed a partially transformed hand that had his claws out just for good measure.

He couldn’t bring himself to hurt Enid while she was stuck in Wednesday’s body but Enid didn’t know that and he was honestly fed up with this.

Tyler was tired of Wednesday being hurt and in danger and not being able to help or being commanded to watch and do nothing. Sure he had been mad at her before and yeah he’s hurt her in the past but he never wanted her dead.

Hearing her suffering and in pain only further cemented that fact.

He wanted to end this as soon as possible.

Tyler needed to be by Wednesday’s side yesterday.

“I’m going to go help Wednesday and you’re going to stay out of the way,” Tyler hissed at Wednesday's best friend and whatever the other girl was to her. “And if anything happens to her body while you’re in it you won’t like what will happen.”

Enid whimpered knowing full well he meant every word. The sound was just plain wrong to hear coming out of Wednesday's throat.

If he heard any sort of pained noise coming from Wednesday any time soon after all this was over Tyler would riot.

Tyler paid Enid no mind and quickly ran into the dark room only lit by moonlight, trusting that hopefully those two will use their brains and actually listen to him.

“Wednesday?,” Tyler called, scanning the room looking for her. “Wednesday I know it’s you Enid told me you somehow body swapped. I don’t know how but-,”

Tyler’s foot made contact with a loud creaky floorboard and before he could process it he heard a long deep growl cutting him off.

His eyes flashed Hyde yellow at the sound and he watched as goosebumps started to raise on his arms. In the corner of his eye he saw movement and his head quickly turned.

Tyler's breath faltered as an enormous werewolf that was much larger than Enid’s previous form had been when they fought last year stepped out of the shadows.

Wednesday was a certified monster and she was absolutely unparalleled. She looked like something that came straight from a nightmare or even a R rated horror movie.

Enid from where she had retreated stared horrified at the glimpse she got of her best friend. Agnes on the other hand was vibrating with glee, her eyes sparkling with admiration.

Wednesday’s form was all black but her eyes were the same although they were clouded and unfocused. She stepped forward bearing her thick needle point sharp fangs threateningly.

As much as he didn’t want to, Tyler was fully prepared to get physical if it meant he got Wednesday back to herself.

Enid was useless in Wednesday's body as she didn’t have his girls weapons training and bloodthirsty nature and he had no clue what the younger teen did besides vanish.

So it was all on him and Tyler honestly preferred it that way. If anybody but him hurt Wednesday he’d have to kill them. Only he was allowed to make her suffer.

Somehow he just knew that Wednesday felt the same way about him.

At least Tyler wouldn’t feel guilty if he got too violent knowing that any damage he did to her wasn’t permanent and would vanish when Wednesday was eventually back where she belonged in her own body.

Tyler raised his chin and adjusted his stance. He had just started to transform, ready to restrain her and forcibly snap her out of it when his new master spoke up catching him off guard.

“Tyler!,” his mother who had snuck in during all the chaos yelled at him. “Don’t you dare transform!”

The order snapped into place making Tyer growl as his body reversed the transformation process. He gave a glare of pure utter hatred towards his mother causing her to falter.

First his mother had the nerve to bind him to her with her as his master before hitting him when he argued. Then she told him all about her brilliant plan to completely erase his ability.

Which he didn’t agree with at all nor did he want.

On top of all of that she had interrupted him and Wednesday in the church just as they had actually been on the same page for once and now this?

What was it with his shitty parents who thought they knew best coming in at the worst of times right as he kept trying to get close to Wednesday.

It was unacceptable.

Before Tyler could process it Wednesday had lunged forward and wrapped one of her large black claws around his throat and raised him up roaring in his face.

Wednesday opened her mouth and snapped it shut an inch away from him showing off her fangs that showcased they belonged to an apex predator.

“Wednesday,” Tyler said as he grabbed her transformed arm. “Wednesday listen to me you have to focus alright? I know what it’s like to be trapped in a body that you can’t control, you have to calm down.”

Tyler twitched when heard a noise in his mothers direction but didn’t bother to look at her since he was too busy staring at Wednesday. His insane uncle was busy doing god knows what, making sparks fly but he didn’t care.

His entire world had shrunk down to just Wednesday as it often did when he was around her.

Tyler leaned forward and in a rather suicidal move he rested his forhead against Wednesdays. The guttural instinctual noises Wednesday had been making halted as if she had been shocked into silence by the action.

“Wednesday,” Tyler called again, pressing closer. “I’m here, you're not getting rid of me that easily cockroach trapped inside your roommate's body or not.”

Wednesday's eyes cleared up at the nickname and she blinked as if she was seeing for the first time since her transformation. They stared at one another not noticing what was happening behind them.

Francoise had raised a weapon at the little Addams who dared try to hurt her son but before she could kill her she was hit hard in the head by something and fell to the floor.

Tyler didn’t even notice the mental snap of the bond that forcibly tied him to his mother as weak as it was since he was too busy getting lost in Wednesday’s eyes.

Isaac glanced at his sister’s body before looking at the feral werewolf holding his nephew hostage before he cut his losses and ran.

Even as insane and psychotic as Isaac was he knew when things were a lost cause.

Isaac running away drew all of their attention but with their positions what they were they let him get away. Not that he'd get far considering everyone was actively hunting him now.

“Wednesday!,” Enid shouted as she emerged from the stairwell. Agnes appeared suddenly next to her holding another object she clearly meant to use as a weapon.

Tyler looked away from Wednesday and just now noticed his mothers body. As much as he wanted to be sad he couldn’t. His real mother died when he was child and whoever this had been wasn’t her.

He heard Wednesday make as much of a surprised noise as she possibly could in that form when she saw Francoise’s body too.

Tyler turned to Agnes and Enid raising his eyebrows in an unspoken question.

Enid immediately held up her hands in surrender. “Not me! Not it! I’m innocent, I swear.”

They all turned in unison to look at Agnes who looked back at them unrepentant. “She tried to kill Wednesday,” she said as if that explained bludgeoning someone’s skull in.

Tyler gave her an appraising look. “Fair enough. Good job.”

Agnes beamed at being complimented by someone who was apparently Wednesday Addams secret boyfriend.

Wednesday let out a sudden whimper as her body started to shrink and snap. Tyler slid an inch or two back onto the ground after her hand around his throat had let him go.

After a series of loud noises and painful jerks a naked Wednesday still in Enid’s body stood in front of them.

Tyler quickly shrugged off his flannel and wrapped it around her, covering her up.

“Wednesday you’re back! You’re okay!,” Enid exclaimed looking painfully relieved.

“Excellent job Agnes. Your aim has truly improved,” was the first thing Wednesday said, causing said girl to preen.

“Don’t praise her for that,” Enid complained, looking so done with her which made Wednesday turn to look at her.

“Is the transformation like that every time?,” Wednesday asked her, her eyes fixated on Enid unblinking.

Enid stared at her in surprise, not expecting the question. “First transformations are always rough but the shifter quickly gets used to them. The pain is always there though if that’s what you mean.”

“Fascinating,” Wednesday said, her eyes inappropriately bright. “When we switch back I can’t wait to include that in my notes.”

All three faces in the room looked exasperated hearing that.

They all had the same singular thought of “only Wednesday.”

“Speaking of switching back,” Tyler interjected, looking back and forth between the two roommates. “I prefer that you get out of Wednesday’s body as soon as physically possible Enid.”

Enid nodded immediately. “No arguments here. I miss my sweaters so bad it’s unfunny. This body is a nightmare,” she quickly turned to her best friend. “No offense Wednesday.”

Wednesday shrugged. “None taken considering being in your body is also torture and not the fun kind.”

“What is the fun kind?,” Agnes inquired, hungry as ever to learn more about her idol.

Wednesday gave her a cool calculating stare that looked out of place on Enid’s face. “Would you like to find out for yourself?”

Agnes lit up but Enid quickly spluttered and grabbed her by the wrist and began to drag her up the stairs. “No! No torture! Honestly you two I can’t take you anywhere.”

Wednesday’s lips slightly quirked up in amusement as she and Tyler began to follow the other two at a sedate pace taking their time.

In a move that seemed natural Tyler and her began to slowly lean in before Tyler jolted back and quickly caught a rock aimed at his face. He gave a bewildered look at Enid who still had her arm up in mid throw position.

“No kissing in my body,” Enid ordered, looking disgusted at the very thought. “I still don’t trust you anyway. I got my eyes on you Hyde.”

Agnes, happy to play along, did the I’m watching you gesture with her hands motioning towards her eyes before pointing at him.

Wednesday looked forward, her face blushing in embarrassment at having forgotten where exactly she was as they made their way out of the building. Tyler didn’t look at her either similarly embarrassed.

Right as they neared the doors they heard Agnes ask.

“So Wednesday's top secret monster boyfriend is coming with us?”

“He’ll apparently be following Wednesday home like the mangy stray he is,” Enid scathingly said, still bitter over him hurting her bestie and putting her in a coma and also for him clawing her face up.

Enid’s tone for once suited Wednesday's body perfectly.

Tyler made an offended noise. “Who are you calling a mangy stray late bloomer?”

Enid gasped glaring at him. “Don’t forget that this late bloomer kicked your butt!”

“You got lucky and you know it,” Tyler glared right back.

Wednesday positioned in the middle of them watched as they began to exchange petty insults with fondness.

Agnes looked back and forth as if watching a tennis match while Wednesday basked in contentment. Her monster getting along with her best friend was just what she needed after everything.

Wednesday will appreciate it even more when she’s finally back in her own body. The reversal will go more smoothly now that she can’t hide from her feelings anymore.

Tyler as he often does seemed to excel unknowingly at forcing her to confront her feelings. At least that worked out in her favor for once.

Weems must be having a field day wherever she is.

Wednesday could practically hear the “I told you so” that the woman would tell her.

Still Wednesday didn’t care about that since she got what she wanted.

Sure Isaac was still technically at large and she was getting claustrophobic the longer she was in Enid’s body but Enid was alive and Tyler was stable and sane at the moment.

Those were two things that Wednesday could easily work with.

All she needed to do now was do a complicated intricate ritual to reverse their spirit swap and put them back in their rightful bodies. Then she needed to do the impossible and help a Hyde defy his own nature and master himself.

Seems simple enough no?

It wasn’t as if the world impossible meant anything to her.

Wednesday Addams had always loved a good challenge after all and something told her that this will be a fun one.

Honestly Wednesday couldn’t wait.
