Chapter Text
Struggling through the snow Niko trudges step after step.
The weight of snow weighing down his legs after he pulls a leg away from the snow one after another.
He had been walking for a few hours now?
Five maybe six?
Trying to stay pragmatic or maybe just accepting his pathetic death he was about ready to admit he was going to starve to death
Unable to see more than a few feet in front of him he had no idea where he was. Though he did know he was abandoned in some shit hole no mans land in the middle of nowhere
Seeing a faint light a few hours ago he walked towards it though he gave up hope an hour or two ago he kept walking in the same direction.
After all what was he going to do sit down and wait to die? That would be boring.
Though at this point he didn't really care.
Not like anyone has ever cared he mumbled to himself.
A bit left of his center of view around 10 o' clock he saw something.
A somewhat outcrop in the ground. It was covered in snow from the snow storm so it was hard to see but it looked to be built of mostly concrete.
Now after giving up hope of living Niko was pretty damn surprised to see that becoming ecstatic for a second and quickly lowering his expectations so not to disappoint himself 5 minutes later realizing he was still going to freeze to death.
Walking around the outer base there was a small folding metal trap door looking thingy.
It opened surprisingly.
Even better was insulation flaking off.
Shivering he quickly crawled inside the dark interior.
He appeared to be in an entrance foyer to trap the cold air gently pushing his hand to what appeared to be a door he pushed it.
"Oh I'm an idiot" he said quietly.
This time pulling it gently it the heavy door opened inwards into a room with a small table at the center a sofa near it some boxes off to the side and some other things light barely reflected off of he couldn't make out.
The space was well maintained Likely no one had set foot in there for a while.
Niko didn't know much about where he was but he did know many of the outposts there hadn't been used since the 60's.
On the table was an electronic clock with a seven segment LED display showing 2:32 AM.
He had been walking for 6 hours 23 minutes and 46 seconds.
The mounted analog clock also confirmed this oddly they were both extremely precise.
