“I’m not sure this is a good idea…” Tsumiki mumbles. She isn’t making any move to stop them, though, which Kirara will take as a good sign. She’s just sort of hovering in the bathroom doorway, appearing unsure whether or not she should come any closer.
“It’ll be fine,” Kinji assures. “I’m sterilizing the needle and everything. Don’t you worry your pretty little head about it.”
Tsumiki’s cheeks flush. “Wouldn’t it be easier to get it done professionally?”
Kirara raises an eyebrow. “How are you intending to convince my parents to sign off on that? I’m not eighteen yet.” She smirks. “Unless you’re suggesting forgery…?”
“Well…”
Kinji gasps, scandalized. “Our pure-hearted Tsumiki-chan is advocating for something illegal?!”
“I’m advocating for not getting an infection!” Tsumiki argues. She strides towards them, then, coming to a stop beside where Kirara is perched on the counter. Kinji is still messing around with his needles or whatever—Kirara doesn’t care much what his plan is. She was just going to wash it off with some soap and water and hope for the best. “You know you could’ve just asked Gojo-san to act as your guardian.”
“Yeah,” Kirara admits, “but this is more fun!”
“And free!” Kinji chimes in, turning to face them, needle in hand.
Tsumiki furrows her eyebrows, like she’s still not convinced after their arguments. She’s probably debating whether or not she should offer up Gojo’s credit card to pay for a professional piercing. But Kirara has already come this far with her decision to do an at-home one, so there’s no point in changing plans now.
Besides, they have the apartment to themselves since Kirara’s parents are out of town, and she’d been hoping for a nice night in. That’s why she invited Kinji and Tsumiki over in the first place. Kinji just happened to arrive first, and without Tsumiki around to act as impulse control, they decided their time would be best spent piercing Kirara’s nose.
“Just make sure you take care of it properly,” Tsumiki relents. “And you sterilized the jewelry too, right?”
“Yes,” Kinji promises.
“You worry too much.” Kirara reaches over, patting Tsumiki’s cheek. “Even if it does get infected, I’m not going to die.”
Tsumiki rolls her eyes, batting Kirara’s hand away. “I know that, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be an enjoyable experience either.”
“I’ve dealt with worse.”
Tsumiki’s expression falls at that, and it causes Kirara’s chest to tighten. She’s still not quite accustomed to having people who care about her like Tsumiki and Kinji do—who remind her that the way her parents treat her isn’t kind, and that there are people who love and accept her unconditionally, for who she truly is.
“Alright,” Kinji interrupts. “Let’s do this!”
Tsumiki moves out of the way, though she remains close enough to link Kirara’s fingers with hers while Kinji lines the needle up with the dot he’d drawn on Kirara’s nose earlier. It slides through with nothing more than a pinch, and then the glittery stud Kirara picked earlier is put in place. She might switch it out for a ring once the piercing has healed, but she figured this was a better choice for starter jewelry.
Tsumiki holds her hand through it, and once it’s over, Kinji presses a kiss to her forehead. “All done.”
“How do I look?”
Kinji takes a step back, eyes raking over her. Tsumiki also moves to stand beside him, giving her a better view of Kirara’s face.
“It really suits you,” Tsumiki admits.
Kinji nods in agreement. “Very pretty. I might have to kiss you about it.”
Kirara wiggles her eyebrows. “I highly encourage that reaction.”
Kinji leans in, lips meeting hers in a warm kiss. It’s slower and gentler than usual, but Kirara assumes he’s trying to be mindful of the piercing. When they separate, Tsumiki slips into his spot so she can kiss Kirara too. It’s honestly so unfair she can’t kiss them both at the same time—but then again, if she could, she can’t imagine she would ever want to do anything else.
“Hey,” she murmurs against Tsumiki’s mouth, “what do you think about snake bite piercings?”
“I think you should definitely go to a professional for that one.”
“Aww, c’mon now,” Kinji chides. “I could totally be a professional!”
Tsumiki pulls back to glare at him. “I’ll let that pass when I see some sort of certification.”
“Are you still okay with forgery?”
Kirara bursts into a fit of giggles before Tsumiki can respond. She hops off the counter and drags both Kinji and Tsumiki into a hug, reveling in the warmth of their bodies pressed against hers. “We’ll figure out the details later,” she decides.
Right now, she’s content with just the nose piercing and the loving embrace of her partners.
