Chapter 1: Transmigration

Chapter Text

Saps shot up from bed, panting heavily as sweat ran down his face. His whole body ached, as if he was being crushed by a giant object. He groaned, touching around his body as he tried to understand what was happening. Saps rubbed his eyes intensely, raising his head.

He froze for a second, panicking. He had no idea where he was. His eyes darted around the dimly lit room, trying to understand where exactly he could be. The furniture looked old, the air felt wrong. Even the texture of the mattress he was on felt somewhat weird. He quickly got up from the bed, walking away from it despite the pain in his whole body.

Saps had no clue what was happening.

He stumbled out of the room, trying to remember how he had ended up here. His head hurt whenever he tried to think too hard, he hated it! After a few turns, Saps found a door that seemed to be the exit. He grabbed the handle, resting his body to the door. He was out of breath, his legs hurt so much. It was hell to walk.

Saps turned the handle, slowly walking out. His eyes burned as he tried to adjust to the light. The sun shined bright, a gentle breeze blew towards him. He rubbed his eyes, trying to get a better view..

Trees…

All he could see were trees, countless. A forest..? His mind was a blur, he barely remembered what to call a big area full of trees.

Saps slowly walked towards the trees, holding onto them for dear life. He felt like he couldn’t walk any longer, but he didn’t want to stay closer to the building he just left either. He pushed himself, trying to get away. Was he kidnapped, lost? He had no idea, he didn’t even want to know.

Saps could nearly hear a faint voice calling his name, he couldn’t tell where it was coming from. His legs finally gave out as he stumbled down to the ground, feeling the mud. He slowly turned his head to see someone standing right behind him.

Dark, short hair… A serious demeanor.

Saps stared in shock, the man… He was undoubtedly…

His body could not take this any longer. Saps failed to utter the strength to speak as he fainted, slowly closing his eyes.

______________

Saps slowly put his pen down, he was exhausted. The whole crew had dumped the work on him, even the boss had forced him to stay overtime. But it was fine, he was happy. Excited even.

He was going to see a movie with his friends, his favorite book had finally gotten a movie adaptation. He couldn’t wait, he was getting super impatient.

.

.

He clocked out of work, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

He arrived just ten minutes before the movie started, he celebrated inside his head. He spotted his friends sitting near the back, he rushed towards them.

Of course he was excited! This was his favorite book series of all time! He had read every single book of the series, knew almost every part of the lore. He absolutely loved all the parallels between the characters, the themes of the stories, he adored every single character interaction.

And of course, he had his favorite character. Fluixon, the infamous villain of the 2.5, in other words, the movie he was about to watch.

He couldn’t wait to see how the film had characterized him, not to mention his look.. Fluixon was his ABSOLUTE favorite character in all of existence. The characters motivation, personality and… not to mention his looks..

Another reason Saps loved the book was kinda funny, he shared the same name with the protagonist, Saparata. He always thought about how funny of a coincidence that was, it made him love the book even more. It almost felt like it was written for him.

.

.

.

The film had exceeded Saps’s expectations, it was really good… Yeah, there were one or two differences but still, he absolutely loved it.

He said bye to his friends, opening his phone.

He didn’t look at the traffic lights, why should he? It was almost like he believed himself to be immortal, not that much but, still. He didn’t put much care into little stuff like that.

It all almost felt like a blur, when he finally heard the frantic honking of the truck.

His whole body crushed, Saps tried to scream as he felt nearly all of his bones cracking. He tried to move, but his consciousness had already started fading.

Then everything went black.

Then white.

Then…

.

.

.

___________

Saps slowly opened his eyes, finding himself back in bed. He was back in the weird room again. He tried to get up once more, but he couldn’t. His leg hurt so much, but his head felt a little better. He could feel a wet cloth placed on his forehead.

He noticed someone sitting on a chair next to the bed, silently reading a book as if they hadn’t noticed that he was awake. It was the same person he saw at the forest…

Flux…

The man in front of him looked so much like the character, no.. It was literally the same person. Saps rubbed his eyes, finding enough courage to talk.

“Flux?..”

The man sitting in front of him raised his head, smiling warmly.

“Oh Saps, you’re finally awake! Didn’t I tell you to rest?” He put the book down near the small stool next to him, staring at Saparata in what seemed like.. pity..?

“Wh- where am I..?” He tried to get up once more, Flux frowned.

“Did you really hit your head that hard?” He scoffed, touching Saps forehead with the back of his hand.

“I’ll get you some water, don’t get up.” He got up from his chair, leaving the room. Saps stared at the door in silence, he wanted to get up and follow him but his leg hurt too much.

He pulled up the covers, noticing his left foot was in bandages. At least that explained something, he thought to himself. After a few seconds, Flux entered the room again, holding a glass of water in his hands.

He placed the glass to the stool next to the bed, sitting back in his chair. Saps silently grabbed it, drinking it all in one go.

“So…” Saps uttered, catching Flux’s attention.

“Where am I, what is this..?” Flux raised his eyebrows, staring at Saps in a weird way.

“What do you mean?” Flux asked, looking at Saps’s forehead.

“No… it can’t be…” Saps muttered under his breath, he couldn’t believe this could be true.

“What? Dude, are you okay?” Flux grabbed Saps’s hand, getting closer to his face to examine him. This made Saps flush a little, he pushed Flux back.

“No, no! I just- I just can’t remember much.. My head hurts, what happened to me..?”

Flux looked confused, tilting his head slightly.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

Saps diverted his eyes away from Flux’s face, trying to look just as confused as he was.

“Damn, you must have hit your head REALLY bad.” Flux sighed as he laid back in the chair.

“So… what happened..?” Saparata, held his hand up as he touched his forehead. It did hurt a lot for some reason, his hands felt ice cold against his skin.

“Well, you fell down whilst we were constructing the vacation home. I told you to get someone to hold the ladder MULTIPLE times, I’m still mad about that.”

“Was it really that high? I feel like I got all my bones broken or something..” Saps rubbed his shoulders.

“…” Flux suddenly avoided his gaze.

“Well… Thomas and Snowbird may or may not have dropped you off a small hill while we were carrying you… Sooo, do whatever you’ll do with that information.”

“They did WHAT..?” Saps shots up, immediately regretting his decision as a burning pain shots up in his leg. He lays down, cursing under his breath.

“Are you like… really okay? You’re acting weird.” Flux opens the covers to look at Saps’s bandages.

“Yeah yeah, I’m fine. Wh- where are the others anyways…” Saps asks.

“Oh, right! Thomas went to Cass Coalition to get some herbs and medicine, I should really go check on him he probably got scammed.” Flux’s eyes widened in realization, looking embarrassed that he had forgotten to go check on Thomas.

“You stand by, not that you can really walk right now but still… I’ll be back in a few hours or so!” Flux’s eyes widened swiftly got up from his seat, grabbing a small bag in the corner of the room. He smiled at Saps before he turned and closed the door behind him.

After making sure that Flux was gone, Saps finally let out a sigh of relief. He was really glad that this ‘Flux’ hadn’t noticed him sweating like hell. He himself couldn’t even believe how convincing of an act that he had done.

Before he woke up, the weird dream he had kind of explained everything to him.

He was kind of reincarnated- no, transmigrated would be a better term. He had been transmigrated into his favorite series… Just like those stupid anime’s he used to binge watch, he would always wonder how cool it would be if it happened to him.

No matter how stupid it seemed, he just couldn’t help but feel excited about it. Being so close to Flux, the character that he had hyperfixated on for so long…

But, there was still one thing he couldn’t understand. What was his goal here? There would surely be a system of some kind that either gave him quests or secret powers of sorts. He couldn’t bear living in a fantasy world without NOTHING.

He sighed, glaring at the empty chair beside him.

Maybe he didn’t need a certain directive, he could live his best life here with his knowledge. (He was even one of the wiki editors once)

So, his goal was set. He was going to live his best life here, away from any trouble-

Trouble…

Oh no.

He stared at his hands, trying to find a mirror.

‘Saps…’ He was still Saps, he was Saparata…

And only hardship awaited Saparata in the story, Saps couldn’t bear with that.

But, he also knew that the events of the story hadn’t happened yet. Or else Flux wouldn’t be at his side right now, or else he wouldn’t have fallen off during the…

Saps knew what to do.

He was going to stop the events of the story before they even happened, stop the Conspiracy from even forming, stop the tragedy of the Island 1 from happening.

And most importantly, he was going to stop the antagonist from turning evil…

He was going to redeem Flux before he even corrupted.
