Akutagawa knew how he had ended up here. Yet he didn’t know why he wasn’t pushing the Jinko off.
Said Jinko was holding his hand and slowly rubbing the back of it then intertwining their fingers before repeating the actions over again. Akutagawa’s hand began to twitch unwillingly when a sudden movement of the birds quickly drew Jinko’s attention to them. Then he tightens his grip on Akutagawa's fingers, just a little and Akutagawa squeezes back.
Jinko’s eyes kept tracking the birds with a sort of childish wonder, his thumb fingers and thumb never failing to continue its path across Akutagawa's knuckles. Akutagawa's throat felt tight, a cough almost breaking through his mouth due to the excess amount of energy he used for chasing the target prior to this peculiar situation. But he suppressed the cough, he refused to break the peace that rarely filled the air between them.
But he couldn't quell and soothe the ever persisting cough when a warmth landed on his shoulder. The warmth quickly left when he coughed into his hand facing the other direction when a lukewarm heat coloured the tips of his ears.
“Akutaga- I’m sorry,” Jinko bit his lip, his hands worrying the wood of the park’s bench.
Akutagawa’s throat still had that irritating residue when he looked back up at Jinko. By the way the sun made his eyes glow and his lips ever so inviting pink. His white hair looked like a halo from the sudden wind and Akutagawa couldn’t hold it in anymore.
He coughed one more time, to attempt to get rid of the annoying sensation in his throat and pulled Jinko’s towards him again by the back of his head and wrapped his arm awkwardly around his back.
“Akutagawa?” He murmured into his shoulder blade, his voice sounded full of incredulous and amazement. When Akutagawa looked down back at Jinko he was able to see the sparkle in his eyes through his white lashes.
“Don’t move.”
Jinko dipped his head more into his body and Akutagawa could hear the smile in his voice, “Why?”
He pushed his fingers through the strands of white and smirked,”You are competent enough to stay there before. Stay until our ride arrives.”
Akutagawa was sure that both of their organizations wouldn’t believe the sight of this even if they were to touch it.
Akutagawa tightened his hold and felt the rapid beat of Atsushi's heart against his own. Even when the sound of their ride's engine cut through their peace, he didn't move. He kept his fingers tangled in those white strands for one heartbeat longer than necessary, proving that. Maybe just for today. The Jinko was exactly where he was meant to be.
