Summary
In 1990, Will noticed something was off - Mike was looking at him differently, which had to mean something bad. So, he did the reasonable thing anyone else would have done - he packed his life and ran away, leaving everything behind.
In 1998, Will starts his second year as an art teacher in a sanctuary for boys, a place that’s become almost a sanctuary to him, too. He managed to bury his past so deep that no one would be able to dig it out.
No one, but the new Writing teacher.
Or: an entire year where Will and Mike get to know each other again, a lot of sweet kids that need them, a hell of a slow burn and realizing they were never even slightly casual :)
