The first battle of his mercenary career was hectic to say the least, Scout not being used to the whole respawn thing quite yet, every time he died he believed it was final, until he woke up gasping back in his home base. Of course he was doing poorly on his first day, not used to the other teams fighting style or what they were capable of.
After gathering his bearings again, Scout made a move to start hopping out of the spawn room.
Then he heard the respawn go off behind him, muttered German curses signifying who had come back to life. Scout quickly turned around to get in a chat with someone before he inevitably hopped right back into a swift death.
“What’s up, Doc?” He smiled at the angry older man.
Medic quickly looks up to the newly hired Scout on his team. Given their roles, he rarely passed by the Scout today, much too busy pocketing the Heavy. He wasn’t that fond of the younger man, loud and abrasive, and completely ignorant to his superiors. Someone who was pretty much a perfect contrast to him.
“Oh Hallo Scout.” He acknowledged Scouts existence, although begrudgingly, not in the mood to deal with the speedster.
“Don’t you have somewhere to be Hase? The battlefield perhaps?” He mused sarcastically, trying to get the younger man on his way.
“Psh, whatever. You’re no fun, gramps..” Scout started bounding away on his long legs, leaping distances most would only dream of. Medic of course took note of it, his speed and jumping power remarkable, definitely something to be observed further.
Maybe there is more to the Scout than he originally thought..
After watching Scout hop out of the room, ears pushed back by the wind, Medic left swiftly to accompany his Heavy. Puzzled by his interaction with the younger man, he took note to observe the speedster more this round, to see what he was capable of.
After situating back with his Heavy, Medic heard a shrill voice making immature insults to the opposing team.
“Yeah suck on that chuckle-nuts!!” The Scout was laughing wildly, jumping across the buildings rooftops, with a buck tooth grin covering his face and continuing to giggle to himself.
Medic kept staring at the Scout jumping speedily across the battlefield, he was looking at the hare with awe in his eyes, completely encapsulated with the performance Scout was putting up.
Eventually Heavy noticed the healing beam dying down, obviously meaning Medic was distracted. He turned around to reprimand his colleague.
“DOKTOR!! What is happening?” He scowled.
Medic quickly snapped out of his reverie, focusing back onto producing a steady stream of healing magic for the bigger man.
“Ach, sorry! I don’t know what got into me..” Medic quickly apologized for his broken focus, turning back around to support the Heavy.
I do hope I’m able to run into that hyperactive rabbit a bit more this battle..
Scout had gotten himself into a bit of a jam, currently flat on his ass, unarmed, in front of a very armed BLU Spy who was currently taunting the hare.
“Ah little rabbit, what were you thinking trying to sneak up on a Spy of all people? Surely you were aware of our abilities at sneaking. I could hear your jingling dog tags from a mile away!” He snickered at the disarmed man below him, sneering with an ugly grin.
“Yeah, ha-ha wise guy! Bet you couldn’t take me on fist to fist, you frog!” The younger male scowled with a frown, ears tilted back in fear, nose twitching uncontrollably.
Scouts eyes darted around the room, trying to find a way out of the situation, his ears pricking up at the sound of footsteps nearby, it might’ve been another enemy, but it could also be one of his teammates, seeing no downsides in calling out to the person the footsteps belonged to, he began to yell for help.
“YO!! ANYONE OUT THERE?!” He yelled towards the source of the noise. The Spy quickly turned his head as well.
Suddenly, the wood cracked from behind the Scout, a large bonesaw breaking through the rotting wood of the room. Spy quickly tried to tumble backwards in a bid to run away, when suddenly a large white bird wing reached through the opening and grabbed onto the Spy.
“Ah ah ah, where do you think you’re going, you BLU scum?” The man behind Scout started to open the hole his weapon made a bit more and stepped through the opening to confront the hare's aggressor.
Scout was shocked that the person stalking around the room was actually an ally, albeit their resident healer. After escaping his stupor, he watched as the older man started to pull the enemy closer.
He could see the other man's talons gripping the ground with force, taking big steps towards the enemy, finally reaching the Spy’s front. Medic raised his armed wing, and swiftly punctured the Spy’s chest with his bonesaw, making a disgusting sort of sound, the Spy also letting out a death rattle before his demise.
Medic pulls out the bonesaw and the Spy drops limp to the ground. Medic turned around to comfort and heal whatever injuries the Scout may have, with a crazed grin on his face.
Medic quickly knelt down to the Scouts level, looking as jovial as possible, like he was waiting to get a one on one with the hare.
“Ahh, hello there Hase! So nice to see you again! Here, let me heal you.” Medic raises his medigun and concentrates the flow of healing magic onto the younger male. Scout looking at the scrapes and slashes he received from the Spy, close up instantly and leaving no marks.
“Uhh.. thanks Doc..” He said nervously, nose still twitching in fear of what the Medic was capable of, ears pinned back.
Medic then reaches up a wing to feel up the hare's ears, rubbing inside of the lobes. Scout blushing quickly and swats the offender's wings away, sputtering half-assed insults to the German practitioner.
“HEY PALLY!! Hands off the ears now!! Didn’t your Ma ever tell you to not touch people without permission!?” The Scout stood up, seemingly insulted by the older males' touches.
“Oh, my apologies, Schatz! I didn't mean any harm!” The German man chuckled and stood up back to Scout’s level as well.
“Yeah, well.. thanks for the help man, I owe ya.” The Scout looked away embarrassed, rubbing his hand on the back of his head bashfully.
“Oh ja, ja! You could pay me back after the battle, your physique.. Hase. It is simply remarkable what I've been able to witness you achieve! May you accompany me to the Med-Bay after we get back to base?” He looked with shining hope in his eyes at the younger male.
“Uh… yeah I guess that’s fine, I’ll see you soon Doc!” The hare picked up his forgotten bat in the corner of the room, and started bounding back onto the battlefield, leaving Medic alone in awe, excited for their meeting after the battle's end.
